Quote from Niels Heusinkveld :rsync sounds a bit techy but I'm from the Dos age so that might work.. However i only see source code to download? And I read its for linux? :S

I dont remember which version I use maybe this: http://sourceforge.net/projects/rsyncwin32/
Cygwin variant is quite good also or maybe http://www.itefix.no/i2/taxonomy/term/39 is the one to use.

There are several search for win32 rsync

Quote from ALT0160 :This isn't meant as a tread hijack, but I'm looking for something similar. If someone knows a program that suits my needs, it would be appreciated.

It shouldn't only copy all new or modified files, but also delete the ones that were deleted in the original and not only capable of copying 1 folder with its subfolders (e.g. 'my documents') but various folders and files from various directory's on different drives.

This is definitely the job for rsync.

Quote from backup.cmd :
c:
cd "C:\Documents and Settings\Luser\My Documents"
rsync -av --delete . q:\mydocs_backup
d:
cd "d:\games\lfs\data"
rsync -av --delete spr q:\setups

Note that there are several rsync ports to windows and some have problems with paths (the reason I use cd in the example) and some have other strange problems.
I should also mention that rsync starts to get really nice when on linux so you can use --link-dest for incremental backups etc (you can still pull the files from a windows machine with rsyncd running)

SVN is the wrong tool for the job becuase it can´t pick the changed part out of most windows files. Would have been the right tool if it was source code. (I would rather use mercurial than svn in a server less environment though)

Just to be different. I recommend LX6 as a starter car. The other cars are a lot harder to drift, either they are underpowered or they got wrong tires. Also the tyres don't catch fire until after a few laps. The LX6 is not a perfect drifter, but I consider it the easiest to go starting in. In no other car is initiating the drift simpler, push the throttle harder, if that does not help try steering slightly also and - voilà - drift.

Quote from Mustafur :What good is belgium to the world if they haven't got Spa

Maredsous Tripple?

I see a future where most racing classes have quite large mufflers.

Quote from aoun :Anyone ever been to a concert for DnB music? I remember i was doing security work at one (pendalum rings a bell :S) and i was working the door and for 7 hours straight my legs were shaking from the bass!

Not my kind of music, buts its alright.

Been on several, one in Copenhagen that was awesome (forgot what band but quite organic and funky might have been Micky Finn) then on an awful Aquasky concert where he had dual raga MC's with too loud mics. Very nice when the whole audience gets in sync with the bass

I "rave" like environments I rather listen to psytrance.

I don't get the thinking, sure Top Gear is an awesome program but I can not see why that would kill 5th Gear. 5th Gear got axed because it was not good enough, not because of some Highlanderish rule of "There can be only one".

Besides Top Gear has nothing in common with consumer advice TV, at least 5th Gear tried to be objective.

OT: Having a handbreak on the driving wheels is a very conveient (but somewhat crude) diff break. Used many times to get me out of troubble in the snow.

It might be more convenient, but I doubt brand name coilovers are any instant handling enhancement.

Quote from Scrabby :If you really want good handling, buy coilovers

Is a new sign of irony? Please explain how and why coilovers will make good handling. (except from giving an extra line of text on the front door)

Swedish and English is quite similar, the tricky non logic grammar is unimportant if you want to make yourself understood (but important if you want to blend in).

For learning any language: Read or listen to information in the new language about stuff you know alot about. You know what they talk about and will learn the melody of the language, obviously you will need to complement this with normal language studies.
Maybe check this out: http://www.liveforspeed.se/

The best description of [early versions of] nKpro was that of an old italian supercar. "Its alot of trouble and makes you angry but when it works, even for only a few laps it's so wonderful that any flaw is forgotten" (quote is possibly translated and from memory and my memory is not always good, maybe its from earlier in this thread maybe not)

Even after just an hour in nkp the license fee has payed itself in joy. (actually I could pay the license fee just for the demo)

I'm drooling over the nokia n900, however I can't justify myself to buy a bulky phone with features I would not use (I hardly even sms)

It's not out yet. http://maemo.nokia.com/n900/
The apple one has probably the best ui, but I would never rent an apple product (I want control over my stuff). Androids are cool and not as locked down as the apple stuff. Maemo looks very free, but how free will it be and how good, future will tell.

Besides the apple one is hugely expensive, I got and ad that claimed it was cheap, minimum fees for the two year contract was eur900 (but I had to use a magnifying glass to read that) that did not include any extra apps from the apple shop, nor unlimited data.

I can adjust any setup for most tracks (drive line, tyre temps), I might not get the last % w/o fiddling with the parts I cant't do (shocks/springs). As I said any rwd will do.

I like it, but they should find ways to make it better.
Less fun bits:
There are only two teams (v8sc does this better) It leads to team play at a unprecedented level where Ekstrom can go from eight to first in a few laps.
They have to constantly artificially create action (success ballast)
Too tight racing (wrecker series)

Fun:
Hight end cars, nothing like the heavy, low powered, high CoG wtcc cars.
Ekström! =)
Tight racing

My experience form UNI is that you do not have time for family and you old friends the first part(*), and after that you have follow a schedule of how you spend your free time 0% study, 100% study, 50% study (in loop).

The price is very steep but if it includes meals it OK.
Beckys comment about growing up is 100% true, but you miss some of that if you live at a "all-inclusive-hotel".

*Depending on the type of education this is a few months to double digit months. It's more about having less distractions than about having no time though.

My education (it engineering) was in sweden 15 years ago YMMV.

EDIT: My main argument:
With the amount of study you need to do in the beginning there is no time for two hours of commute a day. Especially when you can't use those hours for study/sleep.

Weight transfer when braking

I'm really bad at driving with discipline. So I need a setup that teaches me to let the rear regain its weight before turn in.

I.e a setup where the rear goes very light during breaking. It's nice if the setup is fairly easy to drive, it does not have to be fast at all. I'm quite OK with any rwd car.

I can make such a setup myself, but that will not be drivable.

I have not driven the RAC much with the latest revisions of the physics, but in the old age I drove it a lot and found that if you concentrate on the large rear end and how it moves and makes sure the inertia is working your way, it's very rewarding and mentally exhausting.

I found this in some thread RAC_axus_Blackwood2.set and its very good and is for modern physics. Do a search in the forum and you might find it.
