Quote from Dru :Can not wait for the next 2 Hour event - where's the sign up then hey :P

GT2's on Aston Historic - sounds good

Agreed

Heres hoping I remember to find the sign up thread in time.

If its half as good as the Easter event we'll all be laughing

Mind you he probably got out the cockpit, flipped open his wallet and paid for the damage in hard cash

Actually no I wont. Got a wedding to attend so wont make this event or the race. Will speak to my team mates to see what their thoughts are.

Quote from Doorman :Try Dead Men Racing. Different combo every week. Good, clean racing always an admin on board to protect you from numpties (assuming you're not a numpty yourself!)
End of commercial break.

Might just to that. Well so long as you don't mean numpty = slow

Tried some of the other TBO servers but tbh all that was missing was Dick Dastardly and the SS cars don't do much for me atm so maybe it would be good to get back into them.

I prefer to meet my friends, family and loved ones in the pub.

ps - lfs members fall into none of the above catagories (team mates excepted of course)

Quote from Trekkerfahrer :Hi,

due the crash in the pace car lap, we want to invite all drivers for a small training behind the SC.
For the following people, the test will be mandatory! If these drivers will not show up to the training, the team will start from pits with 1 lap penalty!

S.Leemet
B.Plewa
A.Stokic
P.Heinonen
R.Mroz
T.Harberg
S.Alfons
S.Abernethy

All other drivers are welcome to have a realistic test!

The training will start on friday the 8th May at 17:00 UTC and will be at least 1 hour long!

A small appeal if I may?

1. We had already been overtaken on the parade lap and were knowingly out of position and a little unsure as to what we should do. Therefore already a little unsettled.

2. S. Alfons then squeezes us and almost tries to overtake thru the chicane where the carnage was. All before the green flag and also a under a waved yellow flag. This left us little room to manouvere

3. We braked into a wall of parked cars and was then hit from behind. You know the rest

Of course we shall always respect the admins decisions, but considering the above I think it's a little harsh including our driver in the mandatory list.

Notwithstanding that, I'll be there for a practice cos it is a good idea

Thanks for reading.

Quote from GabbO :No there wasn't, at least nothing big.

True, but the potential was there if that had happened mid-pack rather than at the back. As we subsequently saw...

Quote from GabbO :And what i meant with my statement, if the drivers would know they could shift+p after a start incident, they could take more risks. And we don't want that. Someone is always the dumb...

Ah fair enough. Cheers

Quote from Dru :We can not wait until the next one - whatever that 'weird; combination might be

Word x 2

I got off to a good start and gained a spot or two in T1, but then I rolled it at the high speed chicane on lap 3 so had to pit early to fix the damage.

Spent the next hour hotlapping or overtaking a couple of the slower drivers until I eventually caught up with [SR3] K. Shima and we had a good wee battle to the end. Although I couldn't pass him he did drag me along to a new PB, so thx mate!

Great fun

ps: Rudi - your banned from the next one or a carry a passenger for ballast or something
Great driving dude, left us all for dead

Quote from de Souza :Don't mean to sound rude, but you already made your point mate. We all saw what happened, let the admins do their job now.

Indeed, nothing like stating your case tho eh? I also thought the test-race incident was worth a mention.

Quote from de Souza :I watched the replay and there were accidents all over the field, won't be easy for the admins to come up with a decent decision. I'd be surprised if they didn't tought.

Its a tough one right enough! I wouldn't want to be in their shoes

Enough from me, see you all at Westhill

Quote from GabbO :That's why we did the test race for, and it looked everyone understood what its all about. Looks like this is not the case. But we just don't want to yell at anyone, as i don't see that this could bring any advantage.

We are trying to help the issue(s), but in our way.

Fair enough, but...........

You obviously didn't look too close at the back of the grid during the test race. The same thing very nearly happened under pre-race safety car as we came thru the chicane before the start/finish straight!!

I had to grind to a halt as the car in front of me had span on the grass, and, as it was before the green flag I could not overtake The only reason I didn't crash him was because I was being responsible and observing the race rules and ettiquette.

Seems like there isn't any penalty for ignoring these

I'm not talking about yelling at people. But by applying penalties, actions speak louder than words

I also still don't quite follow GabbO's statement that allowing people starting from the pitlane could encourage more reckless driving? Surely in this instance it would have been the fairest thing to do?

I genuinely don't want to sound like a whinger, but if I had caused this catstrophe I'd expect to be heavily penalised.

We also totally appreciate its a difficult siuation to apportion blame (not to mention that damned inconvenient RL getting in the way :razz, but surely you can appreciate our annoyance and frustration?

Anyway, at least Westhill shouldn't have this issue

Welcome to the mad bad world of Enduro admining, good luck guys

Well, we at team FUBAR are proper p!ssed off at the whole thing.

A big thanks to the muppets who caused the pile up whilst still under the safety car. That caused our race to be over before it started.

Total waste of 6 weeks of our lives practicing for the event.

Admin response? Please try to be more careful............ffs stronger words than that are requred imo

Quote from GabbO :For the first one we can only hope the drivers will learn from this and take more care in the pace car lap. Start from the pit is not what we want, this could eventually encourage some people to take more risks...

For the second, that will be penalised.

Sorry, but tbh I think thats a total cop-out on the first response.

GabbO, you said "Start from the pit is not what we want, this could eventually encourage some people to take more risks..."

Could you explain what you mean by this, not sure I follow?

Notwithstanding that, this was harldy one of those situations
6 weeks practice down the drain..........

Quote from GreyBull [CHA] :Seriously, this wasn't intentional at all. We(backmarkers drivers) were in double file on sector 1, but suddently, this 2nd file died of somewhat. As the guy that was on the right didn't want to pull out, I thought his grid position was worse than mine, so I without much reflexion, I decided to fill the gap with SRS' car. And remember, there was already a big chaos in T1, everybody recovered as they could, so I think that nobody on the back was 100% sure of his position.

True it did get quite messy But, I was spectating on LFS remote and on teamspeak with our driver. From that it was pretty easy to figure out who should have been where in the line up.

Quote from GreyBull [CHA] :Oh well, I can't belive you prefer to penalize me than the guy that ended their race...

How true. I thought the cardinal rule was if you get punted from behind then it was always the other drivers fault

From the rules
6. Race start
" The race will be started in a single file rolling start behind the safety car. The safety car will drive

at a constant speed of 150 km/h. Each driver must leave a comfortable gap to the car ahead"

Tbh we do have a little sympathy for the chap who rear ended us and finished race, visibility is zero coming throught that chicane. Its the muppets up front who caused the blockage in the first place who deserve to be penalised in some way during the next race.

Ach well, things can only inprove after that

Ok, but I'd quite like response to the two reports I've got oustanding.

tbh I think the issue raised in the first report needs looking at in case of a repeat in future races.

Driver to Report: Lots....
Race Time (not laps): before green flag
Description: Caught in the carnage in the final chicane whilst still under pre-race safety car. Ended up being hit from behind and flipped on our side so the race is over before it even began through no fault of our own

Don't suppose theres much that can be done about it but being allowed to start from the pit lane might have been fairer.
