Well I'm glad ross is not commanding merc this season. If he was we would have stupid team orders in every race. Probably rosberg having to let lewis past at every opportunity just because ross had decided in february that lewis will get the top spot. I think it is great that merc are allowing the cars to race. Of course there is a chance for the car to hit each other with dire consequences but until spa it has been really good imho. As a spectator it has been nothing short of amazing. And it is possible to manage the hell out of the drivers but you still get them crashing (vettel/webber) occasionally so it is not like stuff like this wouldn't happen if the merc would instantly get on the radio when the cars are within half of lap from each other and tell them who goes first...
As for the incident it was clearly rosberg's fault. I'm not so sure if it was worth any penalty. It is really difficult call imho. It was very clumsy of rosberg and he basically lost his chance to pass and to go outside when he overshot the corner entry. Hamilton could have played it smart and let rosberg have his line as lewis would have the inside line into the next corners anyways. One could also argue that rosberg took some damage from the incident as well so he did not escape without any penalty.
And it was nice to see kimi doing well. Tough luck for lotterer. But when you drive a turd you get a turd experience.
Probably better that the car landed sideways and not on its tires. That looked like 2-3 metres off the ground and if he had dropped on is bottom from that high it could have paralyzed him.
It would seem odd that in the driving school they would have not made you check your seating position before driving. As for clutch and throttle all cars have different feel. Some have really snappy clutch with really small amounts of travel to adjust the bite point while other cars have really good clutch. My ex-gf had toyota yaris and the clutch pedal on that one was very good with long travel for bite point. But one of my friends had hyundai coupe and on that car the clutch was very snappy and the bite point was very deep in the pedal. And while the yaris had very good clutch the throttle was pretty awful. Almost felt like a button on the floor (do you even need analogic throttle pedal for that 1 litre engine ).
One of the tricks for good and precise clutch usage is to learn to control the clutch pedal with your ankle movement. Your heel should be on the floor so you can get precise control. On most cars the way you do this is that you press the clutch fully and then release it until you start feeling it bite. At this point you should have your heel against the floor and you can then use your ankle to control the clutch. Learning to do the clutch properly will help you when you need to do hill starts (or use handbrake).
There are different wheel categories.
- Entry level is logitech dfgt (if we ignore the most cheapest wheels).
- Then you have the mid level wheels. Fanatec 911 turbo s, gt3rs, gt2, g27, g25.
- After that you get to the upper mid level where you basically get the best you can buy with reasonable amount of money: fanatec csw and thrustmaster tr500. Then there is the oddball wheel which is the fanatec csr-e which is basically csw with xbox compatibility but also lacks some of the bits the csw has. The csr-e is not the same as the fanatec csr which is basically 911 turbo s with the csr-e wheel rim.
Basically all the fanatec wheels that have the same plastic base (except the early 911 and gt-something wheel are extremely similar) are the same wheel for pc sim racing and the only difference is the wheel rim style and material. The csr-e and csw have the new base which is basically one step above the mid level wheels.
After that it gets insanely more expensive. You get the eccis, frexes, with way over 1000€ price tags. And after that at about 2000+€ there is the accuforce and simsteering wheels with their servo motors. And those prices are without pedals.
If you want a better wheel but not spend the money you could look for used tr500 or csw.
Those are basically all the same wheel without the xbox compatibility and with different rim material/style.
1: At what point do you think a sim (or semi-sim) racing game is attractive to you?
When it is fun to drive. It either offers nice mix of sim and arcade (gran turismos) or it is proper sim. Good amount of tracks and cars is of course important and for me online racing is essential.
2: Why would you keep playing a game even if you’ve unlocked all the cars and levels?
I'd keep racing ff the online racing is fun. I don't really care about levels. I play to have fun and not to achieve some level or trophy inside the game.
3: If you are slow and you can’t beat the fast guy, what makes you to enjoy the racing with fast guy as you are always lose, is that the pursuit of “victory”?
Losing is natural part of racing. I don't see it as a bad thing if there are faster people than me. As long as the racing is fun I can have fun racing the for the last position. Winning of course feels good too.
Also, 4: what do you want to have in the kickstarter as the return? Except for in-game content? What else u wish have?
Future dlc for free is always good idea. Some recognition is always nice. Like having your name in the end credits, special tag on the forums.
5: Will you guys enjoy getting your own designed cars or skins, and level design included in the game?
Yes.
I'm trying to think what could be the real idea behind that. Maybe it was folded and wrapped in invisible plastic in such way that that the text was on top and readable. And it kinda makes sense for something you would write on a christmas gift. Doesn't still make any sense why the text has to be in that place. Maybe it was a really stupid person who placed the text there?
Or maybe it is just some edited pic from the internets?
Apparently there is this new piece of runoff in spa too. I was watching blancpain race and noticed there is now tarmac runoff on the exit/entry in Blanchimont.
On the right side in 2:45: https://www.youtube.com/watch? ... e&v=Orjeb8g9r0E#t=165
I dunno. My gut feeling is that they have ruined that corner. Before that runoff/extra room was put there the corner was a lot more tricky to get right and to see when to turn in into the corner but now it is so much easier to just go flatout when there is more room on the entry .
Although the change might be good too for racing if it allows the driver behind to go wide on entry and go for the undercut...
