In my case I use Wheel/Joystick tab with mouse X axis set to steer. Maybe it's just me, but I feel it better than the dedicated mouse/keyboard tab.
Button Control Rate 10.00 (either 10, 9 or 8 is my preference)
Analog Steer set to 0.40 (higher values means slower movement, and lower values faster movement. You would notice as soon as you steer)
I rarely drift, so idk if my settings are optimum for drifting.
Whoever it is, it's plain stupid. It was far more easy to solve problems with TC staff contacting them via TC forums, not DDoSing LFS to show how butthurt he is over a ban.
I'm sure its one of those "I didn't do anything" "got banned for no reason" type of players.
Getting a OOS error here too. You should try again and attach a different spr.
What happened at the first turn btw? Like you brake coming to a semi-complete stop, shifted up into 5 and back to 1st, started driving again and OOS error appeared.
Unless you really want to drive on Rockingham, but depends of how you see it basically, if its worth to buy now or wait for new content. The final decision is yours in the end.
If you are starting to take your first races, you could stay behind the pack to avoid accidents. Some people get Triggered easily tho, so be prepared to face some anger to be thrown at you lol
Scawen needs to ask for licenses to include real cars, which is not easy nor cheap, and licenses only gets expended with certain cars and conditions, not all cars from one brand. A "grey hole" to kinda surpass this would be to have Mod Support and let the community make these cars.
Setups are important, and not every setup fits your driving. Don't expect to make a WR just because you use the setup the WR holder used if you don't even know where to brake, or when to accelerate. The setup may or may not fit your driving depending strictly on you. Also depends on how aggressive and confident you are when taking corners and pushing the car to it's limit. Same goes for the racing line, braking and etc.
Sorry, but then you are the problem, not the racing line. Just because you failed at them doesn't mean they don't work.
If you are feeling frustrated after practicing a bit, relax, play another game and take a break to refresh your mind and get back to it, otherwise the frustration will overrun making you fail more.
Pretty much what Onur said. Not any setup fits your style, combined with how aggressive you are taking corners, brake zones and etc etc.
You could do great with a setup, but spin off on the first turn with another setup. Plus depends on what you use: Keyboard, Mouse, Wheel or Gamepad.
It's not the same to drive with an oversteer-ish setup than an understeer-ish setup. Same goes for braking, suspension, camber, amount of fuel (more fuel=more weight=less power-weight, also known as a slower car). Basically everything.
Have you tried to do some test laps using some setups from www.lfs.net/files ?
You'll need an international credit card as listed on the Shop, or other payment methods as for example PayPal like Maus said.
I hope in the long run LFS will have more pay methods apart from credit cards/PayPal added, which will benefit both customers and the devs themselves more.
Sorry for le bump, but just today I found out this typo after I changed back to Latin Spanish (have been using English for so long it feels weird lol).
Original aka Typo:
3g_srnotsup > La FREQÜENCIA no es soportada : <data\sound\soundfile.wav>
Corrected:
3g_srnotsup > La FRECUENCIA no es soportada : <data\sound\soundfile.wav>
This typo is present in both Castellano (Spain) and Latino (Latin America). Checked both .txts and both have the same typo (fresh install also).
Just like Tyre Physics and VWS you say? If those aren't false expectations, then I don't know what you understand about "false expectations" or what "false expectations" even means.
I do understand LFS and that devs have a life behind it, but at this point you can't leave LFS to die, and the least thing you want is to cut any communication/support with the few people that still play this sim.
2018 is here and I can asure you I'm tired of waiting for something that never comes. If I could play other race sims (limited by hardware) I'd have done so time ago.
Just random Clues & Hints for more theories and speculation, which then leads to disappointment when an update comes because it's not what we expected to see.
I'm sure a few tracks are coming, but the question is when...
The "Surprise Factor" is way overused here, except that the Surprise is either a sock or coal.
1). As I already said above, just because I don't join race servers regularly doesn't mean I dont race/practice alone, even if I didn't upload Hotlaps nor made PBs.
2). I never blamed on this suggestion. As I already said above, its not a bad suggestion, but its best to focus on what we ALREADY have.
•First time I heard about this "Graphical Overhaul" they were working last year, I was semi-hyped. But I can't expect too much (which I'd really like to be proven wrong when the update arrives). Devs let Speculation run free, which obv makes people's hopes back onto LFS, and then the update is just shadows for the 2D by-standers off-track. Worst thing you can do is to feed the Speculation Monster and let it run free, specially here in LFS.
There isn't any actual fact, it's all speculation on what Scawen posts about. Just by saying "Im working on it" doesn't prove anything.
•Never any pictures, a teaser video, News Report. Only Words on a random post isn't enough, and the only News Reports we had lately were only changelogs disguised as News, never a real "progress report". Last teaser video I ever saw from LFS was about the Rustywagen Rustyrocco. Saw it back on 2010, even if the video is from 2008. The next video is from FBM testing, made in 2007, but published in 2014, Westhill update, and a random rally stage driving on WST and that's it. I sincerely don't expect VWS to be ever released.
•Better have some updates this year tbh. I'm getting a bit tired of waiting for something that never comes, yet its the only sim I can really enjoy driving/racing/drifting/w-e on, and I always end up coming back, despite the fact updates are rare.
•FFS, devs are god freaking damn lucky a 10-year game with slob updates still can fill up servers. When these servers left (both big and small) start leaving, we can officialy say bye bye to LFS. Also car mods is the other reason some people still play it.
•Improvement Suggestions is just a subforum to post whatever cross your mind, because devs don't even bother posting on it. Is it that hard to clean it up a bit, with at least an Archive?.
•"I feel the new graphics is just a covering to pull wool over us, that the new physics is not even in the final stages of build. Yes, Tyre Physics may or may not be on its way out in the future, but when? Will there even be a market or consumer group left to experience the physics when it gets released?";
•"Tracks are coming. The only light at the end of this absurdly long tunnel"
But I will sure be seen as a bellend because I'm blunt and sharp with my words as always, and this post deleted because being blunt is a very bad thing.
I try to be optimistic, but at the same time im Realist about it, which is why I don't keep my hopes up with this sim anymore.
1). Who said I don't drive on s2 cars/tracks? Just because I don't do PBs/upload Hotlaps doesn't mean I don't drive them.
And what's the problem if I normally race with XFG/XRG/FBM? I'm not allowed to? Because I'm S2 it means Im forbidden to drive these cars anymore? Am I part of the S2 elitism and I didn't realize?.
2). Sure, because we need to cover Tyre Physics, so we throw the "Graphical Overhaul" tarp over it and everyone is happy. This tale is pretty known to me
3). I'm not against adding new cars, but what's the point of adding more and more XR variants when the rest of cars are just there, begging for an update? XRG for starters, XRT is enough for drift, FZ50 if you feel extreme.
Why do you think XFG, XRG (adding FBM) and Blackwood were reworked? To make Demo "prettier", but then you buy S1/S2/S3 (except for ROckingham) and find out you have Minecraft cars available. It should have been reversed, updated S1/S2/S3 content instead of Demo. But I don't blame them, Eric is working like a carbon mine slave and nobody to aid him and make things faster.
4). Not my problem LFS was designed to be a Racing sim but ended up being a cruise & drift sim. Go blame the game, not me.
5). I'm not saying the ideas depicted here are bad and/or shouldn't be implemented, I like the idea of a XRT and XRR crossover. But IMO LFS devs should focus on updating the EXISTING content to match the actual standards before adding more things.
So we already have eternal Tyre Physics update coming in a aeon, and you want to complicate it even more? That will just delay things even more.
Tbh this idea is useless. Why make a total NEW car that looks identical to the XRR or XRT with just a tiny bodykit, a bit more powerful engine just to be Drift-exclusive? And in the other hand we have outdated af cars (UF1-UFR, LX4-LX6, RB4, FXO-FXR, FZ50-FZR, MRT) left to die. I'd rather focus on reworking these cars first.
None of these two will be added anyway. At least "Officialy", if not via Mod Support (if it will even be a thing).
This. You could save a replay of you doing a few laps so we can see your driving and etc.
216km/h-217km/h is easily reachable on both Blackwood configs, with and without chicane.
Edit: Also bear in mind that more fuel=more weight. For 4 laps its best to use 7%, or 8% as max, if you think you need 1% more.
EDIT2: (Discard Edit1) 4 laps is 6% fuel as Nova corrected me. My maths are rusty, just like the Volkswagen.
1) Racing Line (Where to brake, where to accelerate, where not to accelerate too much, how aggresive you should point the car into the corner, etc etc)
2) How Aggresive/Confident the player is with corners
3) Last but not least, a setup with correct gearing, downforce, suspension and etc, plus knowing when to shift up, when to shift down and @ what RPMs you should shift, what gear you should be in corners (generally it's 2nd gear in T1, and 3rd on the rest of the corners -last corner could be 4th even. But some setups have this "swapped", where instead of 3rd, they use 4th, and instead of 2nd they use 3rd).
[Shortly: A good setup]
Also Engine Brake is common knowledge if you are into racing (be it professional, casual or w/e)
4). Thousands of practice, just like anything. In my prime FBM racing I got into really low 1:13s, almost scratching 1:12s (on normal BL, not Historic). Even if I have like 2k laps with FBM, its still a highway to learn more about it ^^
Dunno about lucaf's idea tho. I mean, why have reserved server slots for licensed users if the race will be full the time 15 peeps are racing?.
Sounds more like trying to fill "empty slots" than something useful at all tbh
Scawen should do something like the cracked City Car Driving has, which after some time the car just bugs out and floats. It'd be fun af to see thousand of threads of cracked players asking why their cars are floating
Pic 1: I think the wall is there on purpose to avoid going OOB, hence even in this Blackwood, beyond that point there isn't too much to drive onto. Also one of those "emergency services" openings;
Pic 2: Misplaced collision;
Pic 3: Non-collision mistake;
Pic 4: That is suppossed to follow the railing, to avoid ppl from getting inbetween so easily (altho that can be done with a wheelie setup);
Pic 5: Supossed to be those "emergency services" openings, except this one doesn't have any barrier nor col wall;
Pic 6: That is an old bug, was doable in old Blackwood too. And that also happens with other spots too, like f.e. Blackwood Estate rocks in building's yards;
Pic 7: Non-col mistake;
Pic 8: Same as Pic 5;
Pic 9: Not that much of a "bug" imo, nor something to be worried about/need to get fixed.
Gyazo 1: Just LFS physics
Gyazo 2: Again LFS physics
