If you dont have a skin, that is okay. There is no rule saying that you do, but if you are to have a skin, be flamboyant! At the end of the leagues season I plan to compile screenshots and possibly a movie, so the more colorful and flamboyant the skin, the better! If you have a skin, and would like a numberplate on it, send a 1024 X 1024 .jpg of it to me, and I can fit one on with a number of your choosing.
We are creatures of conformity...on my server, it started out last night that everyone was racing the LX6, because the fastest racer at the time was using that. Then someone was using the XFR, so everyone switched to that.
Now myself, I like my daily 30 laps at ConeDodgers...I can de-stress from the day, and since I have put in about 1000 laps there, I can drive pretty relaxed.
If you are participating in any of the races, you will need to read, understand and comply with the rules. These rules may be updated, altered or changed from time to time, and the host whom wrote the rules (jayhawk) will inform the participants in this thread.
It has been suggested that rolling starts would add to the realism, and be able to thin out the crowd so bunch ups wont happen at turn one. So for the people whom are participating in this (these) races, I would like your vote.
Some ideas:
-GT1 and GT2 have pit speed limiters, therefore you can maintain a constant speed. GT3's will be able to keep up. Once an individual car clears the start/finish line they take off the limiter. The only downside is that it will take 5 minutes to get around the track.
-The race marshall (me) will be in a safety car driving at 100 km/h until I pit, then once I clear the track, it is green light go. Only downside of this is that some may get too antsy and may cause an accident, or the GT3's may get left behind. Of course, the race marshall will maintain 100 km/h only on the straights, and see fit to whatever speed is safe in corners.
At this point in time I will have to pass in regards to a moving start. Let all the racers keep in mind that this is not a 5 lap dash, so keep it cautious on turn one...even if that means letting a FZ5 pass you, you can easily overtake when turn one gradually becomes a high speed curve. And an FZ5 is quicker on long straights than the XFR, as I was amazed at a few days ago. Just you wait, GT2 people, when Vain just pulls away on the "stadium straight".
This is going to be one fun race, if everyone is mindful of their cars limitations, and their mirrors!
Yes. This is actually for Aston National, but it makes no difference, since the straightaways are the same length. It is stable, a bit of understeering going into curves, but does not have wild, flailing oversteer. Very controllable after a few laps, you just to need to remember with the LX6 to keep the steering input smooth and at a minimum, and be gentle with the throttle. Play with the brakes though, I always set mine in a weird way. If I can drive it, you can. And the LX6 in principle terrifys me.
XRG you can spin if you are reckless, otherwise, it gives you alot of information and is so slow you can correct it in time. XRT sometimes has snap oversteer in corelation with when boost is applied, and only at low speed.
Having add on wings, on my opinion, is silly and needless for demo cars.
Is it true that the alleged "straight cut gears" are not in the literal sense straight, but of so little degrees of mesh as to justify generalization of the term?
Voted for large, though I am quite small (5 7" 125 pounds), because the T shirts, unless they are very expensive (10 Euros or more each wholesale) will shrink a size. Agood shirt that wont shrink will be Hanes Beefy T. Dont ask why I know this.
BlowThruStang...I say get online, start out on a server that has the UF1000's. Now, I know you think that is boring, but I can attest, as can others, a large field of the UF1000's is probably the most intense, competitive driving I have witnessed. Same goes for the STCC Bronze servers. It is not always about speed, but skill.
I used to be a huge fan of Gran Turismo, bot I look back at it as being corny and very arcade like; it was just TOO easy to win. Others are like me who like to start at the back of the pack and see how many people they can pass on skill and determination. I could care less if I win, it is the satisfaction of that new PB for driving my *** off, or being able to pass a person equal in skill or speed after being behind them, stratagising for several laps.
Give it one hour a day online minimum for one month, and see how you feel then. I hope to see and race you sometime!
Well, that is why I will be spectating instead of racing. If you read my rules, you will see there will penalties for such an occasion. Plus, there are so many straightaways on AS_HIST the GT1's should not have a problem.
What I want YOU to do is, practice, and enjoy yourself come race day, alright?
