I hate that freakin' bug on your screen. I first time I saw I started to reach for the screen the thump it off. Don't change it though. It is quite good.
Ranting... That I was. Flaming I would use direct descriptions of you in not so tasteful words. I offered up self criticism of myself and my country men by pointing out what is wrong with a lot of people these days. So don't think for one second that I believe I am better then human and not effected by what I have mention. I know because I try not to be that way. I know what effects me and I see what effects other people with experience. FYI I am still learning. I can use this thread to see that I come off a bit harsh and a bit of an arse. I have simply come to a point in my life where I understand my own weaknesses and will openly admit them. Though I take measures to try and rid myself of my short comings when I see the opportunity to do so. Be it in my personal life, hobbies or professional life as an outlet. In short I find in self criticism and criticism by others to be healthy after the truth is exposed and the I am in the know.
I offer the opportunity to anybody, including you, to ask for help with improvement. Despite the fact though you clearly haven't taken to time to find out what LFS all about before speaking. I still would offer advice in the realm of LFS to anyone that asks. And if my advice was incorrect I would expect to be told so. That is better for everyone. I simply love to see anybody try and better them self here in the LFS community, because the LFS community means a lot to me.. silly as that might sound to some..... my wife not excluded from that list. I take crap off her all the time for LFS. But hey.. we're married.
If you take a look at jrs_4500 he has drove 291 miles and his best laptime is 10 seconds off the WR.....
The problem I see is too many people need instant gratification and are not will to put in the work to enjoy self accomplishment. 291 miles is a one night snack for me and a lot of other people around here as well. How can you possibly enjoy one of the most difficult PC games there is and then judge it only putting 291 miles online.. IN a game that is meant for ONLINE racing. I use the word game loosely as I hardly consider it a game. BUT I DO FIND IT EXTREMELY FUN.
Seriously seeing that this guy is from America doesn't surprise me one bit. A whole crap load of the people here can't see past the minute they exist in at that time and are willing to do nothing to better them selfs... This same attitude can be linked back to our current bank crisis. Impatient, lazy people ruin it for everybody. Not just from the rich but all the to the poor. Freakin' Bling, Bling and easy this gotta have in now attitude is that is all that anybody cares about anymore. THIS COMING FROM AN AMERICAN SHOULD MEAN SOMETHING. Not that we are the only guilty group of greedy people in the world because I'm sure there are plenty of others.
jrs_4500,
I am sure NFS will be popping out another sad game for you pick for the disposable console of your choice the near future. We will still be here enjoying all that DirectX8 Graphics can provide and one the best communities in existence. If at any point you feel the need to try, please come around and ask for help. We are more then willing to help you improve, if improvement is what you seek. We are not tolerant of your B.S. and crying like about graphics.. Go read some of my other posts where point out why game developers make crap like NFS. Then apply that logic this post. I hope that will shine some light on what I am getting at if you don't have enough information already to figure it out.
Like when one country evades another country with good intentions (not to mention any countries by name..).. But the country being invaded doesn't really like the invading country being there...but at the same time some of them appreciated their intentions, but are there already for other reasons.. Then fighting increases all in the name of what?? Promoting new ideas??? Think what would happen to the poor joe that showed up here promoting rFactors latest, greatest MOD.. he would go down in Flames.
See if they have a off topic or open discussion first.. nobody like outsiders running up on their door steps with an outside agenda.
#3 in the second like is what I believe will help you. But, please read from the start of the section for controllers. This will give you a better idea of what is going on.
Well.... it's been a few months since I made this post. I ended up being in a position to do what I wanted to in the first place and buy some CSTs. I feel doing business with smaller company's is really the best thing to do for the innovation of sim racing gear. I think we should do this when we can. I feel they do more for our sport then meets the eye. This is one of few markets where new products trickle up rather then the typical trickle down effect. The impressions I get is that these small companies produce products as if they will be using it themselves.
However. I still believe that the new Fanatec Clubsport Pedals will serve as a better controller then any mainstream product you can currently buy and will push the bar for competing companies. I think they be a big piece of the puzzle if not the piece of puzzle needed to begin a change in mainstream sim racing gear.
I expect to see some reviews from you guys when some of the LFS community comes to own a set of these.
sheeet dawg... bose ain't near urban enough to make dis whip ready fo da street..... best be takin' yo ass to da eclipse websites oh somin' like dat!! Ya feel me yo'??
j/k
Friday would a nice surprise though. I preffer to watch the threads and the LFS websites... FYI - My three year old just is asking over and over and over for some chocolate milk........
Holy crap!! I just ordered CST pedals I had to tell somebody!!!
Ok. I think you want them at invert 1 for both pedals. 0 for steer. Also make sure you don't have Combined pedal Axis selected in the top of the menu Thottle /Brake Axes.
Most of the time we practice online instead of race. But we like to race too. If you are wanting some pointers or setups we generally are in one of our Team 400 servers in the evening (CST US time Zone). Stop in an see us. If you are serious about getting better at LFS we would like to see you around our servers.
haha^^ Wrecker!. Your words where... "I'm not even going bother..." or something to that effect... I swear.. The first thing out of my mouth on Vent was.. that guy is really about to start bitching .. Crap! I felt bad because I knew right off the bat I was at fault. Most the time when I rear end somebody it is because they were being stupid to begin with.. Not that case here though.
meehhh.. One of those guys was me... But by accident.. I saw you and did a 'friendly'.. I promise... friendly headlight flash. Then I arsed you put you wide.... First thing I thought was... Oh Crap... Here he goes...He's about to start bitching like a mad man..
So. Sorry, if you didn't notice my message on the server.
I did a bit of testing last night with making the settings take effect. A easy way is to kill LWEMon.exe and restart it. I would set the wheel to 450 degrees, run a 200 degrees reg file, then stop and start the logitech profiler and the wheel instantly jump into 200 mode. If you want to kill a process you can use pstools to do it easy. Just dump them in your PATH, system32 folder, Home Directory or whatever is in your path.
If you want to run this inside LFS you will need to write a program to do it. I would get VB.net (free version) from microsoft and use it. There will be more options running from a development suite to execute the commands you want. You could even make insim buttons for your lfs client to select different settings. if you wanted to put the time into it.
The easiest way to make file to change registry values is to first create a folder where you will keep some .reg files. You can make .reg files by right clicking the folder (in the registy) and clicking export to save the values to your folder(1st folder) as .reg files, after you have make a wheel setup that is. at that point you would need to do this in notepad:
c:\wheel_regs_folder\setup01.reg
save as all files with the .bat file extension. Make a different reg file and bat file for each wheel config you want.
Then figure out how to initialize the new settings... not sure how to go about doing that, but I am sure you can....I think...
TBH with you... I think you should try and meet him in the middle of the road on this...that is if you want the wheel. From what I've read the original price was for a BMW with standard equipment and it sounded like he already had the components and technique for building the BMW wheel. 100 euro for a custom job like you want would be very cheap... not only that but the wheel would need software custom written for all the LCD and contrals to work correctly. The going price for a pre made momo wheel is around or more then 100 euro, so the BMW in itself was a good deal to start with. Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this.
If you don't try and compromise with him on payment and figure out a price that both of you can live with... Then I don't see any reason why he wouldn't just sell wheel to someone else that is willing to pay more for a one of a kind Ferrari replica. Probably wouldn't take him long to sell it. In turn leave you with nothing. Also, I would be careful posting this on a public message board. If he were to see this, he might become angry with you for discussing this private matter. That will more then likely encourage him to do less to your benefit.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Logitech\Gaming Software\GlobalDeviceSettings\"Device Name Here"
This is the location where the settings reside.
You could change the values with a script.
Then you could need to re-intialize the controller in windows with a command... A BAT file would do it i think.. to kill LWEMon.exe and then start it like this... C:\Program Files\Logitech\Gaming Software\LWEMon.exe /noui . With the /noui parimeter. I didn't test this, but I think it could work.
To know what car you are getting in you would need to have a insim program to process what script needs to be run.
