Meh, to me it looks as if he is trying to pull the visor-strip off, but pushes the pit limiter as soon as he takes his hand off the wheel, and then he quickly puts his hand back on the wheel and pushes the button again. The quick motion makes it seems as if he were celebrating, but I don't think he was.

Having said that, I'm a big fan of Kovi so I probably just can't accept that he made a stupid, ironic mistake

Quote from srdsprinter :Anyone else notice the position/angle of Ruben's head going down the front straight?

Yes, I definitely noticed this, although I was too sleepy to make a mental note to ask about it. Perhaps the race was a bit hard on his neck?

Quote from Intrepid :You can hear the car going into N about 50 metres before he goes near any buttons on the wheel. Youtube vids do come with sound I suggest you put your earphones on

Quote from Intrepid :this footage shows the car slowing, and going into before he touches anything.

He pushes the button around 2-3 seconds (or another way to look at it: when he hits the apex) with his left thumb, after which the car slows.

Quote from hyntty :Looking at the pole lap, it's actually a surprize that he's not trying so hard. And it doesn't even look so fast. For example in t6 it looks like Heidfeld is cutting the corner far more and aggressively than Hamilton.

I wonder if he's actually so ashtonishing as people think. Why isn't he pushing as hard as he can? What if he can't? Didn't Alonso claim he had solely made the car half a second faster. What if Hamilton was just riding along, and used all Alonso's expertise to go faster? Especially when Piquet is a whole lot slower than Alonso now. What if ... (ooh this is terrifying)... Alonso really IS THE MAN here?

That's a bit of a paradox though... if Alonso is a much better driver than Hamilton, he would have been much faster last year as well. I don't think it's possible for one person to make the car (half a second) faster, only to have his team-mate take the most benefit from that. The reason Piquet is quite a bit slower is that he's rubbish compared to Alonso, which is exactly what he wanted.

Quote from J.B. :Here's the pole lap. Sorry for the poor quality, apparently Premiere thinks that if youtube can get away with it then so can they...

Thanks!

It's quite repuslive, but then I was never really into the whole Caterham-look. The numbers are quite impressive though, but even those numbers are probably limited somewhat by the shape of the car.

Last heads-up for those interested, launch is in 7h 27m (at 06:27gmt)
I don't suppose anyone will be watching this one though; rough timing for a weekday

Anyway, off for a nap.

As promised, I provide those interested in the next Space Shuttle launch with a bump

"[Space Shuttle] Endeavour's launch is scheduled for 2:28 a.m. EDT Tuesday, March 11." which translates into (and I could be wrong here) 6:28 a.m. GMT.

It'll be a night-time launch and I guess that means bad luck for everyone except the die-hard who really want to see this

Wokkels... mmmm.

Going slightly off-topic in an off-topic thread: does anyone else have the strong urge to watch tv or any show/movie whilst eating? I find myself unable to eat food (at least alone) without something to watch. Am I strange?

Remarkably enough though, he also still looks like a potatoe in the live action movie.

Quote from Inouva :If you think Kimi ga nozomu Eein is depressing , Look School days , How its end the series is Too sad and too sick.

Hmmm, I still follow Bleach, although I've stopped getting the episodes as soon as they come out, since I feel that they are too short to enjoy once a week in one session

I watched a lot of other anime in my days though: Akira, Love Hina, Fruits Basket, Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien (the most depressing story ever, I've never felt so horrible after watching a movie/series ;D), Elfen Lied, Macross Zero, Gundam Wing and all of the Intial D series + a lot of other series of which I got a taste, but could never finish.

As for Hentai, I think it's fun to watch as the level of perversity goes far enough to turn it into crude humor. I find most hentai movies/series to be funny rather than arousing.

Oh, and I almost forgot: Spirited Away - or Sen to Chiro no Kamikakushi in moonspeak - is quite fantastic. I'd suggest anyone to watch that movie regardless of their feelings about anime, as I still personally regard it as one of the best movies/stories of today. It just has something magical that is entertaining and touching at the same time, and although the very strong digging into what seems to be (I'm not sure) old Japanese mythology or story-telling can be a bit strange and unusual for viewers at the start of the movie, it seems to magically blend into your thoughts and feelings as being completely 'normal' - much as odd dreams do, when you realise that they were completely insane after you wake up, even though they seemed to make perfect sense in the dream itself.

You end up watching something that is much like a weird dream, yet all the events add up, and they make perfect sense in the end. I've not really experienced that feeling with any other movie, and I'm not even sure if the director was trying to induce that. Great stuff.

Quote from Gekkibi :Blonde's, and long ones.

Do you shave your armpits (Sounds like a wrong words, but online-dictionary gave it to me. I mean that smelly please between your arm and torso...), Yes/No?

Never.

- Women with long hair or women with short(er) hair?

Edit: Armpits is right
