Quote from BlueFlame :I think it was but if I was Hamilton, I would of completed the lap anyway....

Why? that's just wasting fuel.

Quote from Becky Rose :and her running shorts don't show the bulge because of a "crease amnesty"?

I think, it's because she doesn't have the "necessary meat" to make it bulge.

Whoa, anagram heaven.

Yeah, but you can't force a free substitution with an injury in Football. I'm pretty sure that if you've used up all 3 switches, you don't get to substitute the injured player, and will have to continue with 10 players instead.

Quote from StableX :yeah.... totally! Makes a massive difference, especially as this series should be close racing. My SR took a massive hit in the first race. I was punted off at turn two by a very over zealous ISR presenter

Still a lot of fun despite the car being wrecked. The Jetta is a real feel car

I'm sure he reads these forums ;D

I'm so stoked they decided to keep the grids at a decent size! 14 Jetta cars would've been like watching paint dry, but 24 makes for a fun grid. I hope the popularity of the series will be good enough for there to be regular splits with large grids, it should be with what's at stake!

Yes, but if we're paying for new content *and* hosting races, then what is the subscription for? The statement that it costs something to prevent races going up all over the place with no reason is a bit silly; then they should limit the amount of races an account can create to 1-2 per week, and charge for every additional race.

$1 for a race? If anything this should be a free service, albeit limited

Only people who hate playing videogames can become gametesters. It's not fun and has nothing to do with playing games.

Quote from NotAnIllusion :If various different driving styles are forced to use the same setup, no doubt it won't take long for someone to claim it suits someone else's style more. Yay!

Bawww. Adaptability is a driver skill

Here's to hoping the Jetta series will be very competitive. Same cars, same setups - no excuses and hopefully a lot of close racing

Quote from anttt69 :Glad to see the Jetta released.
also I saw this:

Save 50% on your membership for a limited time. Purchase the iRacing F1 package and get a six month membership PLUS the Lotus 79 for only $60.

Offer good for new accounts only.

What exactly is the F1 package? Just the lotus, or are they throwing in a classic track to?

"six month membership PLUS the Lotus 79 for only $60."

God, it's just painful to watch these people in the videos drive. They're even unable to follow a bright green line with all the assists turned on, it's just terrible.

The little bit of grass is fair game if unintended

It is indeed also what I love - I'll get my coffee and breakfast and get out there again at last =D

Edit: Well, I squeezed out a 54.536 after a couple of laps, missing out on 0.15 in one sector, but that time will be quite hard to find

Go break it! It'll give me an excuse to fire up the sim again and throw that car around

I already did my Pro race for this week, so now I'm just going to race whatever car I feel like at the moment - focusing on one car got me bored last season and I never went anywhere, so now I'll focus on every car =D

So break that time, the more times we have to take turns to break it, the merrier!

I'll race the Jetta if it feels right, because it has an awesome schedule. If not, then I will probably swap between the Skippy and the Lotus ;x

Quote from tinvek :not sure to be pleased or gutted about this.

worked away developing a setup for the 79 at the glen. was ok, nice to drive but about 3.5 secs away from the fats guys. saw the first SP setup for it so downloaded it thinking that i usually get on ok with his setups for other cars these days (no more spinning top impressions unlike 3 months ago). obviously i'm not going to be that fast but it'll give me a baseline to work from. load it up in a test and it feels very familiar. have a look and the suspension is almost the same as the setup i'd come up with.

pleased on my setup skills but gutted that i really am that slow

I have a homebrew (read: non-expert) set which is good for 1.34.00 in my hands, probably better times with another hour of practice. I'll get around to finalising and posting it later today. I'm not sure what the hyper aliens are running anyway, I only saw low 33's so far.

Hmmm, I'm really close to re-upping for a year, but for that to be an option the Jetta really has to be everything I expect it to be. The schedule is great, although Road America might be a bit bland, but the car needs to be fun to race. It would be cool to see a preview video or something soon
