Current demo is leaps and bounds better than NKP demo. They're trying to sell and online only sim without being able to actually test the online piece. Retarded.
I'm going to be honest. I agree that LFS is the best sim for the PC period. It's like a breath of fresh air after spending an hour playing an rFactor mod who's creator thinks he knows something about physics or car modeling.
The devs here are very talented but it sucks that updates come every six months. I'm all for vacation when you deserve it, and they certainly deserve it after this months suprise. I just think that the devs really need to step it up and realize that the goal to getting to S3 cant be a part time job if they expect to ever compete with other sims that will be out in 2009- which is right around the time when S3 will be released at this rate. I think the BF1 thing was a good move and I hope it gets more people racing LFS.
Exactly - and I'm starting to wonder if this has something to do with the devs not included mature .knw files. At the very least, have .knw files for the same type of cars on all tracks on pro mode. I just cant make it happen.
I know how to train the ai, but if they cant make 15 laps without half the field damaging out or getting stuck together at turn 3, what other choice do I have?
I was trying to train the AI last night on South City Sprint 2, and most of them always hit the inner wall at turn 3. The MRT do this alot. I've tested other cars as well and they're not as bad. So much for training the MTR's on my fav track
I noticed some stuttering with the first patch, has this been corrected? It's as almost some sort of collision happens or some heavy physics calculations are going on at that split second which causes the game to freeze for 1 second and then return to normal. It's usually when I'm making a massive move or involved in a collision.
I see the skid stuff was modified. I hope that doesn't change the amount of skids drawn becuase it was way cool to see the road all messed up. Hell, unless it's the skid marks that's causing the stutters.
So how are the way LFS handles replays different than ISI sims or something. In a worst case scenario, are we just looking at massive replay sizes? How much space are we talking here? I think most of us have big enough hard drives. Still not clear on how other sims do it and why it's a challenge to implement in LFS.
I agree with some of this. I guess some people feel that they're elite if they get a good hotlap on lap one or two. Who cares, in the ends its all about getting a good time. I warm up my tires by doing a few laps first.
Seems like the damage model was dumbed down. I set the AI up to race 30 laps at SO Sprint and they kept hitting the same part of the wall. After crashing into each other, slamming into walls etc, i spot checked a few vehicles and their damage was next to nothing. Booo
Is it possible? I haven't noticed that puff of smoke in my mirrors. I actually haven't noticed it from any car now that I think about it. Can somoene confirm?
Also, does the smoke mod work with this version of LFS? If I lock the brakes, I wanna see smoke like on TV and I see nothing,
I still get that annoying "making a left hander around a corner and the car decides to lose total grip and spin to the left instead" Where I expect some cars to push, all wheels lose traction and I spin. Shouldn't I at least start to push first?
Plus, ever notice how much ram firefox eats up with tons of tabs open? Right now, my firefox is chewing away at 83MB of RAM. Might not be much when you have 2GBs, but still.
I'm digging the engine sounds but do the tires sound like that in real life when an F1 car takes a corner? I guess I can only compare this to F1C. What do you guys think of the tire scrub/screach sounds?
Thanks devs, really looking forward to the new tire physics. Man, if they pulled this off I'm giving all my other sims a rest for a long ass time. F1 -check, GT - check, slow ass road cars - check. It's all here.
Great move by the devs. I'm super excited to see an F1 car in LFS. Hell, I'm excited that we have a "real world" car in LFS. Hopefully real world tracks aren't too far off. I just hope that we'll get new sound and setup options for this car. Cant wait for the updated tire physics too. Not sure which I'm most excited about.
