Admining is a thankless task but a vital one,In an Ideal world you know when the report system is working when there is no need for reports.
Unfortunately I think long delays( which I appreciate the reasons for) between reports and action being taken will for many put them off reporting in the future.

For me I'm not fussed I see drivers who leave there brains in the pits, who disregard the server rules, I get vocal about It then submit report ... Job done.

It's amazing what you observe sipping tea in the pits.

I think surround sound would be a great addition to LFS, adds a lot to the immersion factor, and hearing where a car is can only be a good thing don't you think?.

Quote from SamH :The rule is not as clear as it could be at the moment - though IMO, it's quite clear - but we are revamping the rules at the moment, and when that process is complete we will be forcing everybody to re-read them. This aspect of the midrace rule is very clearly specified in the new ruleset.

.

Good to hear Sam, I've seen quite a few midrace joiners pit out half way through the race then proceed to try and pass others who are in the race, there excuse when it goes wrong Is usually" I'm faster so you should just let me past".

All the fernbay tracks are good fun , gold has great camber changes, Club t1 Is one of my favorite corners, such a tactile and satisfying corner especially when you trailbrake it, don't like gold reverse T1 ,mental corner with ever changing kerbs
My favorites are still Blackwood, Kyoto national, Westhill, and Aston Historic ,technical tracks that just feel and look more" real" to me, with corners you can get your teeth into

If it were me, I would have let him pass me no matter if he had joined mid-race or not

Yes but it should always be YOUR choice , not the fast lapper pitting out on lap 5 of 10 who HAS to get a grid position for the next race at any cost even if it invovles screwing up your race.

When you learn the tracks and nuances of the car's a good setup is like a breath of fresh air,If your new to LFS you will not appreciate the difference I know I didn't.
Setups can and do make a huge difference to the lap times no one races with default sets.

To my shame I have never tried doing a setup My first port of call is always Shop of Inferno

The rules are Common sense, 90+% of drivers I see daily obey these "rules" without even knowing what they are.
Lets not make It more complicated than It has to be

But I would happily lose the retort I get when saying sorry though,,, preaching to the converted

Its a side effect of PBittis, Midrace joiners should be "ghost cars".

I drive XRT and TBO *ouch* It doesn't bother me
I try to compete with other XRT drivers ,failing miserably ATM but therein lies the fun, XRT is difficult to drive, to easy to over drive and so very rewarding.

Others get fun and rewards from other aspects of LFS viva la difference.

I still remember trying XRT for the the first time in the demo servers,( XRT was a REAL handfull then) Still my favorite with the shopping car a close second

Good to see the TBO server busier earlier

Forget about doing a fast lap, think line and smoothness, the emphasis being on the later you will know when you get it right as you will get a pb

BTW the best laps always "feel" slow

This latest cheat doesn't effect my enjoyment of LFS ,seen these " not there for racing" LFS users many times and I don't give a damn about them.

We should think about what's important in LFS, now for me cheating in hot laps is waaay down the scale, I'm far more worried about empty servers and a general malaise in LFS.

less posting and more passing

Age means nothing to me when racing others in LFS,behaviour on track is all that matter's, act like a plonker and it follows you like a bad smell, no matter how much verbal deodorant you use on the forums

We don't need an age related server, just more drivers of all ages racing.

Join a race and lead by example.

The way the cars feel was and has always been " the business" for me.

I don't want more cars, tracks or DX10 Bling , I want packed servers occupied with drivers who actually give a damn if they hit another driver.

How do you code for that?

Money and LFS should never mix IMO ,Oil and Semtex but I wish you all good luck, hope I'm proved wrong.
This is why I'm not jumping up and down with excitement with the news of a another Sim by the godfather .

When I've taken another driver out of the race my race is also over, guilt and embarrassment motivates me to try my best to not do it again.
I dont care if the other driver bitches and uses it an excuse to stop racing..my race is over.

XRT makes each corner an EVENT, One lap in the XRT is more rewarding than 10 laps in any other car IMO.

Who knows how accurate it is? I dont Know ?...and I dont care
