CTRA, thanks for adopting UF Baby R. I love it!

Really good to have a racing car at entry level as an alternative to the road going ones.

This could be wishfull thinking but it just might be the end of alien hotlap setups!

The main difference is the tyre phisics. I really needed to sort my setups and driving style around it. Tyres will heat much quicker R1 is not much of an option anymore. Getting the pressures right is more important now aswell. I always had the feeling with the old (current) patch relatively high pressures were favoured. My experience is that this will change.

I like the update. The most important thing is not getting disillusioned when you can't drive your old pb's. Pre-patch records will go out of the window anyway.

I did backup but haven't been running my original LFS because of the difference in physics. I rather spend my time adapting myself and my precious fox to the new tyre simulation.

As anyone having bought the S2 licence knows: LFS is a work in progress.

Because of the decisions made by the devs LFS is what it is today: The best racing sim I know.

The last few updates all brought more realism so expect each patch to be a step away from the arcade.

Does anyone know if "autoclutch off" will be a server option? I sure hope so!

Maybe it allready is but I could have missed it.

I have raced a lot on SS2 the past few days. Only clean and healthy races over there.

I think the biggest problem for atracting racers is the choice of tracks. I think that many of the tracks served are the less popular (or not well known) tracks.

There are certainly more than enough national licenced racers populate it.

1024x768 is enough for me. I may want to take a spin in GT-legends and GTA San Andreas.

Does 512MB over 256 make much of a difference in my current setting?

That's a quick response
7300GT or 7600GS?

Ok, I know I'm talking about budget cards that are a bit out of date.

I'm currently using a GForce 6200LE 128mb and want to upgrade. I don't need anything too fancy just something better.

I'm thinking about buying a GForce 7300GT 256MB they are available for about 50 euro's.

7600GS is a bit more expensive but don't seem to differ much in specs.

Playing the latest games is not a priority to me.

My current setup:
Athlon 64 3800+
1gb ram (333mhz)
GF 6200LE 128mb PCI-E

Why not just having your standard media player in the background?

As LFS is a real sim. it is not very flattering to a street car's handling characteristics as less hard core games would be.

A more arcadish game would be commercially more interesting for a car manufacturer.

All is good!

Still love the game. CTRA single seater even spiced it up a bit recently.

Even without new patches it rocks!

Don't feel like I don't have my money's worth.

Quote from Mazz4200 :
Here's a thought..... The RGT and many other Thrustmasters have a second pair of flappy paddles for the throttle and brake......i.e perfect for those who for whatever reason can't use the pedals. So, you could get the RGT for your Dad and tell him it's ideal for him with his dodgy hip, and you can keep the G25 !

Great sugestion!

The second pair of paddles are a feature that I like. I fancy an F1-style hand-clutch!

Dfp's are hard to get in the netherlands. They are only available online and I don't trust every webshop.

I've read that the ffb from the dfp is by far not as smooth as the g25's. And I wouldn't call the g25 very smooth.
Is the Thrustmaster RGT really that bad?

I'm currently driving with a g25 wich I have been borrowing for a year from my dad since he was up for some hip replacements. But his new hips seem to work fine so I guess he wants it back soon.

I really like the g25 but I can't be bothered with toy H-shifter. As I race single seaters most of the time 270 degrees would be enough.

I am considering a Thrustmaster RGT but haven't read many good reviews about it.

Is it that bad or just less popular?

I reckon that you mean track change. Is there enough time to change setup during the track change?

Good point ajp.

Another factor I would like to take into account that there is no chance for setup/fuel change for the first race on a new track.

But that could make racing even more interesting.
