It doesn't "crash" while trying to use it.

It only crashes, once trying to close one or the other down.

The system is still usable, but certain things will not open.

I cannot even end-task winamp OR LFS, regardless (not even via process list), meaning cannot "shut down" the system.

The Wheel and pedals are very strong (atleast I think so).

The shift seems a bit delicate, but, if you are handy with a souldering iron, its easily fixable

Winamp / SHOUTcast / LFS issue

Ok, I'll try and explain this as well as I can. I will simply show you what I do, to create this "crash".

Load Winamp
Play Track
Start SHOUTcast DSP sending data to SHOUTcast server
Load LFS
Join Server

- once I do all of these, I cannot close LFS / Winamp and generally causes the system extremly unreliable.

Gah - my brain hurts.

Trying to make an app in VB6, and I cannot seem to get the "buffer" to work correctly.

Anybody got a snippet?

ah yes, never thought of it that way.

Okay, going to take a crack out of it.

Do you have MSN or something?

Is it just going to be a server side patch, or a client & server side patch?

okay, so I need to make a buffer, im guessing.

InSim packets are not all one length though, so how you can possible split it into correct packet sizes?

Does the InSim send the same peice of data at the end of every packet (ie vbcrlf or something silly)

Quote from sdether :But isn't it just a matter of math? I mean you get the split for each car and you store it. Then as you hit a split you can diff your time to the ones that already passed it and as more hit the split, you can diff theirs.

Yes, you can do it using maths.

But, this is the idea of "requests". so we can make lives easier!

hmm. I can encode a packet now, and it sends just loverly.

Its just receiving a packet, I've got NO idea how to decode it.

the data I get is: ôý

looks like I wil have to take a look at C again. I hate that language. haha.

I love PHP, but its not the best for making GUI applications

Because ive got prior knowledge with VB6 - I just dont know how to decode/encode the packets - as ive never had to do that before with VB6

Hey guys,

Wonder if you could help.

I need a simple guide how to "pack" and "unpack" LFS packets. I dont want to use a pre-written lib before someone suggest it .

Would be pretty awesome and would be a great addtion to any GUI.

okay. and what would you want the graphs to include?
Krammeh

would you want it grabbed live, or would you want to cache the information every 5 minutes, and then create statistical graphs and static stats in table form?
A form of crash detection

I am aware that there is no easy way to detect this, so I thought that I would see if anybody has found a reliable way of detecting this through the current version of InSim.

I want to be able to detect if someone has "crashed". By crashed I mean that they are no longer on their wheels.

I thought about checking to see if the Z co-ordinates, direction and heaing go crazy or do something unexpected. This would work for large crashes where the car goes flying as high as the pidgeons - however I don't think this would work very well if they just clip the curb wrong and ends up on their side.

If this is not detectable with any of the current MCI/CompCar packets, I would like something to be added into them, maybe a boolean saying if they are on wheels, or not on wheels.

Thanks in advance if anybody has any ideas on this!

you have to edit the CFG.txt (i think thats the file name now), and edit the line "ply name host" to "ply name willy"
