Team XFR
#7 - Pow3rSlave | #8 - scipy

Team tag: [XFR]
Team website: www.teamxfr.net
Driver #7: Pow3rSlave
Driver #8: scipy

Team XFR is on of the older teams in OWRL F1. Founded in April 2002, the team will celebrate its 5th-year anniversary by starting in the OWRL F1. It is the logical next step for XFR, which stands for eXtreme Fun Racing. Among many other race series, the team competed in the famous 24 @ Le Mans in WOSEC and finished the endurance race in 7th place. After the team turned to LFS the team kept the endurance spirit high by competing in MoE. Driving for XFR in OWRL F1 is Slovenian Pow3rSlave, who outside the track also has a talent for creating skins and scipy from Croatia. It's up to these two drivers to make the 5th anniversary of the team even better!

Champ Car needs him to promote the race in China and that's the only reason he drives in the Atlantics now. I expect as much from him as those two or three 40+ years old that sitll compete in the Atlantics, which is otherwise a very interesting series!

A better story about the Atlantics is that from Alan Sciuto. Last weekend, he heard his team (Gelles Racing) was not going to race in the Atlantics this year. So what did Sciuto? He managed to start up his own team, get an engineer and other personnel, a car and register himself officially in two days. He'll be on the grid next sunday in Las Vegas. Respect!

Driver #9: prophet
Driver #10: Miško

Cyber Racing is one of the stronger teams in LFS. Winning the last Masters of Endurance season is just one of the many successes the team enjoyed. The team was founded in 2004 and raced in multiple sims. The drivers in OWRL F1 are Prophet and Miško, who both played a major role in winning the team title in MoE. Miško won one of the Formula V8 seasons in the OWRL and with his open wheel experience, he surely is one of the favourites for the drivers title.

The Open Wheel Racing League will start a new BF1 league on April, 7th. OWRL F1 will feature 10 teams of two drivers each. The calendar runs from April up until October with races on saturday evening. Team application is now open. In case there are more than 10 teams, the fastest qualify.

Teams can apply by replying to this topic in the OWRL forum. Each team needs to have one team manager and at least two drivers. Teams are asked to enter two drivers for each race, but they are allowed to change the drivers between races, with all drivers able to get points for the team championship. The driver championship runs for individual drivers - if a driver misses a race this will hurt his chances.

good job, this should be clear for everyone.

Now show your competitors a bit more respect on-track and off-track and it will be more fun for everyone involved.

Quote :I really think you should take another look at that. I don't think you will find a single real life event that reverses grids and then awards MORE points in the second race. That's because it really isn't fair in a sporting sense.

I wouldn't know of any racing series that have this reversed grid and longer main races. That's the difference here. Points should be mainly awarded according to what one can do in the race, not on who is merely the fastest in one lap. That's why we reward more points in longer races. And with the car we use for this overtaking is possible. It's all about race craft.

I appreciate you take the time to write down your thoughts on this, I really do! We just have a slightly different idea of what should be rewarded the most in the race.

What I find more problematic with the reversed system is that the gap between finishing 8th and 9th in the sprint makes such a big difference, but not much can be done to change that.

Quote from joshdifabio :Hi Krutch, I think you run a great league but I do have a couple of suggestions.

I think there is a pretty major flaw in the points system in Div B. Although I support the concept of reversing the first 8 drivers' grid positions for the feature race, it needs to be fairly implemented. As the second race awards twice as many points as the first race, it is currently, in my opinion, very unfair on the drivers who place well in the first race.

Also, regarding the F1 championship, "Both the driver championship and the team championship will be awarded to the team with the most points at the end of the season."

Hi Josh, thanks for your comments. We did evaluate our system with reversed grids and found out that for the real fast racers, the main race was long enough to come up from P8 on the starting grid to one of the top positions. I'd find it unfair if a longer race (which simply requires more race craft than a sprint race) had the same amount of points.

On your second point, that was not what I wanted to write. My bad, sorry for the confusion!

The Open Wheel Racing League will have two exciting competitions throughout 2007. Our division system remains intact, but will now remain using the FO8 in division A and the FOX in division B for the full year, starting in February. New is the F1 leagu, a high-speed 12-races long competition in F1 style.

OWRL F1
10 teams, 20 drivers, F1 cars, rules and action. How does that sound? The OWRL offers LFS drivers the chance to participate in it's new F1 League. 12 saturday evening races, starting in April and not ending before October. Each team appoints a team manager who is responsible for appointing two drivers (which may include himself) and for the communication with the OWRL Admins. Teams may change their drivers during the season but are expected to remain entering each race of the season. The driver championship and the team championship will be awarded to the driver and team respectively with the most points at the end of the season.

OWRL F1 starts saturday April, 7th. Teams will be required to apply for a spot in the leagues a few weeks before the first race. If more than 10 applications are received, the OWRL admins will decide which teams will be allowed to enter. More details and the full calendar will be announced in February on www.owrl.de

Div A & Div B
First however, the Formula V8 & Formula XR leagues in the OWRL will start on February, 3rd. Our division systems remains the same as in previous seasons. Division A will feature 20 pre-qualified drivers and uses the FO8. Division B is open for everyone and will race with the Formula XR.

In 2007 four seasons will be organised, each consisting of four races. After each season, the top 7 drivers in Div B will be allowed to move up to Div A. New drivers will always start in Div B, but using this system they can quickly move up to Div A - if they're fast enough!

Compared to the 2006 seasons, the only change in the rules will be the Div A point system. This will now start at 25 for the winner and points will be awarded up to P15. For Div B, the sprint/main system with top 8 reverse starting grid for the main race remains in place.

The OWRL calendar for 2007
Div A / B - S2 Season 7
1. 03-02 Aston National
2. 17-02 South City Town (Div A) / Classic (Div B )
3. 03-03 Kyoto GP Long
4. 17-03 Westhill

Div A / B - S2 Season 8
1. 31-03 Blackwood rev
2. 14-04 Kyoto National
3. 28-04 Fern Bay Gold
4. 12-05 Aston GP

OWRL F1:
Calendar to be announced, first race 07-04

Div A / B - S2 Season 9 & 10
Calendar to be announced, races are from September onwards.

The Champ Car World Series today announced that it will return to Europe for the first time since 2003 with inaugural races in Holland and Belgium. Events added to the Champ Car World Series calendar will take place September 2 at the TT Circuit in Assen, Holland and September 9 at the Zolder circuit in Belgium. It will be the first time that Champ Car has raced in either of the two European nations.

Even though it was already clear Champ Car was working on a return to Europe, it's great to see it officialy confirmed. This year's calendar now features 17 races, the new car is looking great. Can't wait for the season to start in Las Vegas.

For Assen & Zolder, I'll be at both. I live almost exactly in between both circuits
Miško clinches OWRL Div A title

Cyber|Miško has been crowned champion in the Open Wheel Racing League S2 Season 6. In the very first BF1 season in the OWRL, Miško was in an intense battle with his main rival ocr.Jeronimo. Both drivers finished on the top two steps of the podium at every race of the season. In the FOX division, Div B, SpdoMisan consistently ran at the front, finishing almost every race on the podium to become the champion

Div A
OWRL's division system is in place for multiple seasons but for the first time the BMW Sauber F1.06 was used. The fastest car in LFS still had many unknowns for the drivers. What strategy to follow? Will the racing be as close as with the FO8?

Certainly, the BF1 would provide drama at the first round at Kyoto Nation rev. pod.ISKuGa, 2nd in the last season, crashed out of the race in a collision with a backmarker while leading and retired from the season. This gave Miško and Jeronimo the chance to get away from the rest of the field. They finished in that particular oder for the first three races of the season.

Going into the final race of the season, Miško was leading ahead of Jeronimo. The gap wasn't as big, as the Ocrana-driver got more points out of qualifying and still had a chance for the title. For this, he would need to get the maximum points out of the last race and have other drivers in between him and Miško. Jeronimo did his part of the job, but Miško finished in a solid 2nd place, more than enough to clinch the title.

Final Standings

1. Cyber|Miško - 126 pts
2. ocr.Jeronimo - 118 pts
3. ELR```Rel´ax - 73 pts

Full Standings

Div B
In Div B the championship, spdoMisan proved to be both the fastest and the most consistent FOX racer. After 6 races Misan only had two opponents in the championship left: ELR```Papafant and Misan's teammate Huppis. With a win in the sprint race at South City Long, Misan became the Div B OWRL champion in S2 Season with one race to go.

Final Standings

1. spdoMisan - 385 pts
2. spdoHuppis - 329 pts
3. ELR```Papafant - 314 pts

Full Standings
