Well, I'm not planning on getting into an argument about this but only Mercedes and Porsche really know why the car did that. True, it could've been the reason to why the cars did that but all true racing enthusiasts or racing drivers know that sometimes, you have to take risks. Its up to Tristan if he wants to go ahead with it or not.

Quote from FL!P :How about Senna? Remember how he took out Prost at Suzuka in 89 and 90?

Everything is fair in love and war, they say!

ah! but in 89, it was Prost who took Senna out and then Senna took out Prost out in 90. Tbh, judging by the reasons for why both drivers did it, they had 1 reason in common and that was winning the championship but in 90, Senna should've had the left side of the track for pole position after it had been agreed before qualifying that it would be on the right but a mr. Balistre (I think ) changed it to the right after qualifying which was very unjust to Senna so he had the right to be angry whilst with Prost, his only reason was to win the championship. That doesn't mean I don't respect Prost, Prost is one of my favs

Oh right! sorry, I forgot, you're French FLIP . Just joking , I know everyone has their opinions of drivers

okay... don't get that bb .

Cool . Well, please please please, let me know if it fixes it or not. I'm still learning car setup so I'm interested to see if my theory is correct

Quote from tristancliffe :Although we recently increased the spring rates, that was because they were too soft, and the car was bottoming a bit too much. We've gone up by just 25lbs/in on the springs, and carefully made sure the wheel frequences also correlate. I don't think it's springs, and softer isn't an option. I am tempted to try slightly stiffer front though.

Well, that could work, yeah so stiffening front springs could help out but if you don't want to go near the front of the car for setup, I think you should lower the rear according to the front. If lets say, you have 50mm set for the front, maybe make the rear 40-45mm to give more stability at the back? but I guess that won't work if the track is too bumpy. Its a real toughie Tristan and considering your vast knowledge on car mechanics and you having a problem, must be a real pain in the ass problem. Well, thats the only thing I can think of if you want to change rear ride height (make the rear lower than the front to produce more downforce at the back), otherwise, you're just gonna have to make some human setup in your driving style to suit the car

Well, I'm not setup guru or technical man, I'm still learning but as far as I know, if you're talking about the rear of the car, softening rear suspension should really help. I remember testing that in a few sims(incl. LFS) and they all gave the same effect, lots more traction. If you're talking about medium to high speed corners, I think the roll bar comes into play big time so maybe softening the rear roll bar?

About the ride height bit, like Dan, all I can think of why the ride height would make a difference would be because of weight transfer. Have to say tho Tristan, you can't really think in the way that you don't want to change the settings at the front of the car because the front and the rear are equally important when it comes to car setup. The word balance is really spot on because its all about the front cooperating with the rear and vice versa.

Well, after 2 days of squeezing out the M3, I got a 2:16.353 with the standard suspension and no driving aids and got a 2:13.179 with the BILSTEIN suspension system so me says... GO BILSTEIN!!! . Having all the aids on, I remember getting a 2:15.240 with the standard suspension but its no fun at all . The game is called M3 CHALLENGE after all so if its not challenging, you're playing the wrong game

Downloading now . I always loved the M series (well, late '90s M5 and M3 CSL but I'm growing to like the new versions of them now ). Any chance of Ferrari doing the same with Blimey and getting an F430 round Mugello or better yet, Fiorano?

Oh! Look, its the Hacker Attackers! . As far as I know, you can use the object editor on any track layout so since you're a demo user and have blackwood, I think its pretty legal to place objects on a demo track

Oh and its Shift+U

Quote from theirishnoob :as for the rs6 understeering... changing your driving style , it solves that issue striaght away

Well, nobody can exactly change their driving style completely. I mean, I know that if I don't have a setup that makes the car either suffer from slight understeer (I like to have some rear brake bias to help me turn in and then feel confident to hit the power when some of the understeer kicks in ) or if the setup is neutral (just bites into the apex, no oversteer, no understeer, just bites into the apex) which is what I like the car to do most.

You can adjust your driving style but its more about adaptation and not changing your way of thinking about how you want the car to react under certain situations. You still think the same but you usually have a bit of conscious thought like "Well, the car understeers a bit too much for my liking, wait till it bites in" or "It oversteers too much, must be gentle with my applications and use minimal lock". That kind of thing but you can't go from having Senna's(R.I.P.) throttle stabbing technique to having Schumacher's ultra smooth throttle modulation .

Also, there is one major factor and thats how long you've been using a particular driving style. I'll give you an example of what I mean. When I used to race in the 2007 R4R Stock Cup where I drove an XRT, I loved the car and it seemed to love me too but after practicing for a while, my throttle technique started to change quite drastically. I'm a NA man really, FZR, Single Seaters, they're my kind of cars so I was used to using the throttle modulation technique for quite some time but when I got used to the turbo in the XRT, I started being more aggressive with the throttle where I started to understand exactly when I was getting full boost from the turbo so I would hit the throttle hard and just let the boost build up while when I'd be driving the FO8 or FZR, I would put the power down smoothly. Anyway, point of the story is that after I raced in that league, I couldn't drive the NA cars properly. I'd always be exiting slow corners, having to do a slight correction because I hit the throttle too hard. Thankfully, its fixed now but point is that when you're used to driving in a certain way for a long time, its very hard to change it and then if you do, usually, hard to revert back. Thats how I felt anyway.

So my advice, head down to the Audi factory or call them up and tell them to change the car setup to suit your driving style more

Well, the RS4 is AWD so I'm sure it could handle the same power as the RS6. The RS4 has 420 HP which is pretty good . My advice is, throw the RS6 Avant engine into the RS4 and you've got yourself a proper Audi .

ah, the RS4, beautiful car really

nice car but it all depends on heavy it is and what kind of suspension and general setup adjustments of the car. I really don't get it though, why not make it into at least a Saloon car like the way all the special BMWs (M5, M6) are saloons but with tons of power. I mean, putting a powerful engine like that in an estate seems totally pointless. Good engine, heavy car and probably not very good aerodynamic design.

I'm getting the feeling that the German car makers have hired some US engineers. I mean, look at some of the US's V8s. For example, the new Mustang GT, it has a nice 300 HP engine and probably tons of torque but throw it up against an Evo or an Impreza and they'll just eat it up because of its shite car setup and aerodynamic design.

I've tried doing that before with netKar namie, never worked . I've looked into the player files of PRO with notepad and they look waay more complex than the ones in namie.
NetKar PRO - Can I use one licence over 3 users?

Hi! I just wanted to ask if anyone here knows if its possible to use 1 licence over 3 usernames?

e.g.: In LFS, you buy a licence but you can have many different screen names for that 1 licence.

So can I do the same with Nk PRO?

I would do it but there is just one little thing that prevents me from doing it...

102 to get me full view of the mirrors in the tin tops. You can usually use around 80 for the winged single seaters to see both mirrors but I'm using a 21'' monitor so I think it differs. The bigger the monitor, the smaller FOV you can use. I think if you use a wide FOV (between 90-100) its good because you get a good combination of feeling of speed and you can see a lot of the corner when going in not just turning seeing barriers all the way round

I don't use PS. I know that its a logo on its own but like Coca Cola is a logo, there was a font made based on its style so I'm looking for the same thing but with the RS logo.

Well, Forza and GT obviously have much higher detailed cars and tracks. Physics wise, LFS is definitely much better but if I were honest, I've got back in the groove again in Forza and, IMO, they've got a ton of realism in there too. GT, I haven't tried it but I heard that Forza is more realistic than it. Anyway, back on topic, remember that LFS is a developing title . We're still S2 Alpha now and the graphics are pretty good but they will be improved as Eric makes further developments.

I believe that S3 could well look like something Forza or GT or for lower aims, maybe GTR2 or RACE. Just try to remember lads, LFS is still in development . In all departments that really matter in a racing game (Physics, Graphics & Multiplayer code) are still being developed . The physics and multiplayer code are already the finest you can get. Graphics can be improved but the point of all this, is that it WILL get better. All other games like GTR2 or Forza are finished products. True, I remember that when I patched up GTL there a while ago, they improved the physics but it still wasn't amazing.

Patience is the key

Big Snow Patrol and Keane fan here . My taste in music is quite varied though, I'm into Linkin Park, Rammstein, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jamiroquai, Zero 7 and a bit of Metallica . I generally like either hard rock, rock, Jazz, Dance and Indie. I've grown quite a liking to indie though

Quote from (-Mark-) :Actually, looking at the HUD more, its not championship edition

Quote from Leprekaun :That is F106. If you look at the helmet there, you'll notice that the top of it is Raikkonen's old Mclaren helmet. I also recognise the HUD.

I've noticed some users use helmet avatars on the LFS forum, how can I get it?

Hi all! I've noticed some users here have helmets as avatars (example: ) so is there a special site to go to to make your own helmet or something?
