well, currently, the top time is 1:14, so sorry, yes it has been beaten . I've never driven on the international layout so I don't have any times to compare myself to.
Nice track, but bad owner, bad karts and almost everything else about it is like that
A knockout system is cool but the thing I've learned with knockout systems is that it ruins the fun aspect of an event because everyone has to push hard and the competitiveness will reach a nasty level.
Also, there may be some cheeky drivers who don't mind barging their way through to get ahead of the 2nd last driver, thus making it unfair on the driver who was hit and knocking him out.
Personally, round Blackwood, was only able to achieve 1:14.87 but it was a messy lap so maybe a low 14 is possible for me. Got a 1:06.90 at Chicane Route but still need to get some time.
As I mentioned before, I'm willing to help the formation of an Egyptian team and help out with some of the media side of things (team image, car skins) and explain some of the important factors to running a successful team. Even though I can help with the team, I will not be joining it since I'm committed to my current team, Dynamic Racing.
As we discussed before Ihab, we need to meet up to discuss some aspects of setting up a team as well as server hosting and TeamSpeak hosting. If we're going to try and set up a team, we need to do it right.
About graphic design, I have some experience but I'm not a pro so if there is someone else, perhaps Zeyad, would be willing to work in that department. My services as of rating of a driver's personality and driving ability and mentality are available to you so if you wish to ask my opinion on a particular racer, I'm willing to join in for some sessions and observe.
I look forward to a bright future for an Egyptian team in LFS and perhaps the first in the world of sim racing.
I'm sorry but do you guys really think that Mclaren would do such a thing? , jeopardise their team image? I think a ton of sponsors would turn them down if they just blatently admit that they copied parts. Besides, "we didn't find them but the FIA did, we're sorry because we didn't find them but we didn't look well enough", I mean, come on! they didn't find them? they're not stupid.
My PB so far is 1:15 flat. I don't know how you guys are finding nearly 2 seconds . I'm just not used to the fact that you brake basically at the same time as turn in because of the slow speed of the car and powerful brakes.
I'm in . I'm glad that there are many more realistic things. Tristan, you mentioned that a blip is required during downshifts? I thought that the FBM did the auto blipping hence it being a sequential, I just thought that a blip wasn't needed
I do try to visualise everything mechanically but thats not the point. I want to know why stiff front springs with soft rear springs makes oversteer because as I tried to visualise mechanically, it didn't make sense to me. As the car's weight is thrown at the back, softer rear suspension should mean that the car has more traction, RWD or FWD because when you apply throttle, the weight will always go to the back. So why would softening the rear springs or stiffening the rear springs cause oversteer? the same logic also applies to the ARB (soft rear should mean more grip at the back but it increases oversteer so thats a lack of grip there). Maybe the ARB bit is a bit more complex since it involves the idea that when you're cornering, a softer rear ARB means that there will be more weight transfer that will exceed the saturation level of grip but if this was true then how come the car understeers with a stiff ARB?
Well, the clear difference is the side pod area (more curvy bits sticking out). I'd really love to see the 07 car, it'll be quite hard to make, I understand but it would be nice to have a new car and besides, from a business point of view, the BF1 is one of the main attractions to why someone would get into LFS because not only is LFS the most realistic driving simulator there is, they've included an F1 car in it. Its kind of embarrassing for me when I'm trying to encourage friends to buy LFS and I tell them that theres an F1 car and then they ask "What car?" so I tell them its the 06 BMW Sauber and then they reply "Oh... cool" so if its the new car, would get a lot more interest .
I'm not saying that I'm displeased with the devs but I'm just saying that from a personal perspective, I would really love it if they added it and from a general perspective, it'll make them more $
Thanks for your detailed reply Bob . I'm still trying to understand it but I'm getting there .
About the differential, if you can just confirm that I understood it properly , when the diff is loose, because the inside driven wheel isn't getting much torque due to a loss of traction, the car balances the torque on both wheels? (i.e.: Inside wheel is producing 275 Nm of torque so the outside wheel has to be 275 as well?). I thought that if the diff is loose then the torque would be uneven between the 2 driven wheels, hence no real adjusting or locking is occurring.
I just thought I'd mention that during the tests with a FWD car, I only changed springs, nothing else so the setups are identical except with opposite suspension settings.
Forgive me if you've stated it in your post but I still don't get why having stiff front suspension (stiff springs and stiff dampers) on a FWD car gives oversteer and vice versa.
Try using more camber, -1 degree at time because you're problem seems like more of a camber problem. If you say the tyre temps on R1s are completely balanced, that means that yes, it is good but try and look at it in the way that because the compound is different because R1s are quite sensitive tyres so the tyre in general can build up heat easier than R2s but generally, a little pointer that I learnt in OWRL, never use R2s. Also, at a track like Westhill, tyre temperature shouldn't be much of an issue as there are long straights to give the tyres a chance to cool down.
In my opinion, more negative camber OR if you're willing to do it, decrease the pressure so that the insides are at optimum and outsides are a bit hot but really, there must be something very wrong with the camber on your setup because its new for me to hear that the inside is cool and the outside is warm. Generally, its the other way round.
