Quote from BenjiMC :In real life the drivetrain is fixed and we have tested on BL1 and WE1 and i tested AS7 and it feels fine. Somehow porsche got pretty near perfect gearing...

Downforce will be fixed, 4deg on the front and the rear can move between quite a big range i think.

From what i understand all the fixed values are:
  • Drivetrain
  • Spring rates - although new patch allows stiffer springs.
  • Front downforce
  • Brake pressure

Benji, is there any chance you could tell me where you found this information because I read the .pdf document (provided in the original thread) and theres nothing about the restricted downforce settings or dampers so I'd like to have a read through the document where you found this info . According to rFactor, the front wing is restricted at 1 degree and I think the max you can set for the rear wing is 10. Reason why I'm using rFactor for reference because the PCC 2007 mod was tested by one of the drivers of the PCC, Ralph Kalaschek so I'm sure he would've told them whats allowed to be adjusted and what isn't.

Correction: Rear wing max is 12

@R3DMAN: I'd say with R2s, 1:09s are possible. I made a change to the set the day I got that lap but can't remember if I got a 1:10.35 with the new changes or the old set. If it isn't, change front pressures to 12.8 psi instead of the current 10.7.

Hi all! I'm considering making the events start at 7 PM GMT and not 8.

I will most probably go with BenjiMC's idea of having two seasons. One small season (two to 3 rounds) and one later that will be many more.

Quote from [GR]Evolution :Hey guys. I don't know if I have chosen the right thread for this but I had a enjoyful practice session last night with Lep and I have tweaked a bit the last set he gave me (tyre pressures and camber) and I wanted to share it. I did some high 34s without managing to put any clean lap. Might be able to get much lower though even with race pace. Is it ok if I post it here Lep although im not participating?

Yeah, sure .

@R3DMAN: At the moment, my best is 1:10.35 but still playing with tyre pressures.

To the rest of you: this isn't the final set. It still has to be tested. If it does the job round the other tracks, then we could consider it . I'm currently working on a setup that was originally Westhill and tweaked it for Blackwood (tweaked permitted settings).

suspension is fixed too .

Well, after me and Benji (you're welcome to join in of course when we're on ) try and sort out a good baseline setup, I'll post the new rules regarding restricted setups. According to what we were looking at, the only things in suspension that are adjustable are ride height, dampers (both bump and rebound) and ARB, leaving just the spring stiffness. We're thinking of using 250 Nm spring stiffness to simulate the real cars. We tested it last night, its not too bad really . Dampers are hard to tune because you need to get them perfect or the car bounces too much or flies off.

Hi guys! well, I've decided to make this thread so that if you have any suggestions to improve the league, you can state here . Any discussions regarding race dates or start times are to be discussed in the race calendar poll.

Yeah, sure, I can make it run every Tuesday instead (1 day before each date)

well, thing is, theres a strong chance that I'm going away this summer. Theres a small possibility that I can still run the league when I'm away but theres also the chance that I'll be leaving my PC here in Egypt and won't be able to host it in Ireland. I just thought that there would be a lot of people who are eager to race so I thought we could get a few races in before the summer break

Yeah, I am afraid of that but way I look at it, if there are people eager enough to race, they will return to race more and for those who aren't too hot on the idea, its a shame obviously but I can always re-open registration again for the remaining rounds.

sorry to be a pain but is there any chance you could make the FZ50 and GT3 part of the title of the forum section all caps? I know it sounds like a stupid request but it just looks a bit weird the way it is now .

Would it be possible to add this banner too please?

and as I have it here in the message, to link to the forum section of the cup .

Thanks!

FZ50 GT3 Cup: Scrutineering

Scrutineering:

All drivers must send their setups to the league administrator at the end of qualifying to check whether there are drivers who have adjusted a part that's prohibited from adjustment.

In the case that a driver's setup doesn't abide by the setup restrictions, he will be put at the back of the grid for race 1.

Shift+P and Shift+S aren't allowed during any of the sessions. If a driver wishes to add more fuel and change for a new set of tyres, he may do so by stopping in a pitbox in the pitlane. If the driver flips his car and can no longer move, he must Shift+S and retire from the session (if in qualifying, his time will still be valid). A little note, please try to go to the furthest pitbox available in order to avoid confusing the drivers behind. This isn't a rule but simply a gentlemanly act that would be greatly appreciated.

If in the case a driver disconnects, whether intentionally or unintentionally, he will not be allowed to further participate in the session but his best time will still be accounted for.

Setup changes are prohibited during pit stops. This can be checked via LFS stats and if a driver changes setup during qualifying, he will be immediately disqualified from the session. If in a race, the league administrator will begin to impose the penalty system.

In the case that a driver does Shift+P or Shift+S, he will instantly be disqualified from that session (in the case of qualifying, he will not be permitted to race in Race 1).

At the end of every race, all drivers must send their setups. Any driver who Shift+P or Shift+S before the league administrator permits to do so will be disqualified from that race.

1st x 3: +3 extra points

1st x 4: +4 extra points

1st x 5: +5 extra points

1st x >5: +5 extra points

Detailed explanation: The winning streak system is to reward drivers for winning two or more races consecutively. However, not to allow a driver to run away with the championship, the winning streak system will max out at 5 wins (so 6 wins or more, you still only get +5 extra points)

FZ50 GT3 Cup: Rules
Leprekaun

Server behaviour

General server behaviour

*a necessary element for an enjoyable league is gentlemanly and friendly behaviour. Any form of insult or aggressive behaviour is prohibited on the server and will be met with a warning and if repeated, will be met with a harsh response of being kicked and if further repeated, will be banned from that round and if after the round is complete, the driver will be stripped of all his points. Any repetition of this behaviour will directly lead to the penalties system as from Stage 3.

Chatter

*There are no rules against chatter, its nice to discuss a racing event with fellow racers, however, any time when the league administrator is calling out drivers to join the grid for any of the races, chatter is prohibited. Chatter is also prohibited during the scrutineering process. There will be some more leniency regarding this rule but if its repeated more than two times, the league administrator will start to enforce the penalty system. After the league administrator states that the session is finished (by saying "thank you all", "session complete" or "session finished"), drivers may converse with one another until the following session.

Race conduct:

Overtaking

*When passing someone on the inside you must have your car at least half way along side to have the right of way.

*If you try to pass around the outside then you must be fully along side the other car, otherwise the leading driver is entitled to take the normal racing line.

Defensive driving

*The driver who is leading is entitled to drive defensively. This is to protect their position. Other drivers should be aware of this.

* Drivers should not block the cars behind.

Expansion: The lead driver is entitled to make one move to maintain their position and one move to return to the normal racing line before every turn.

Re-entering track

*If for any reason your car leaves the track you should look around to see if there are any oncoming racers before rejoining.

*If for any reason your car is flipped, either on its side or roof, you must spectate immediately.

Car Damage / Fuel

*If your car is damaged or low on fuel, remember to keep off of the racing line and be prepared to give way to other racers. It's a good idea to use your hazard lights.

Contact

*Rubbing and tapping are all parts or everyday racing, so these are allowed as long as it doesn't harm anyone's race or gain you an advantage. Due to occasional lag, small taps may cause a major crash, so be careful. Its preferred that drivers make their best efforts to avoid it.

*If you gain an advantage from making contact with another driver, you must allow that driver back through. If this is not possible then it's down to your integrity to apologise.

Lapping

*Backmarkers will be lapped by other cars, this is an everyday occurrence.

*Other drivers should be treated with the same respect as drivers you are racing.

*When you receive a Blue Flag it is your responsibility to wait until there is a safe place to allow the car behind to pass. The usual allowance is three Blue Flags or in the case of LFS, Three Corners.

Pitting

*When pealing away from the racing line, care should be taken as to the cars around you, make sure your path is clear to the left or the right. If possible, signal your intentions with the use of your cars indicators.

*Do not cross the pit entry line. In attempting to preparing the car to be within the pit entry line, if there is a driver directly behind, the driver pitting must submit his position before entering pits as to avoid any possible confusion to the driver behind, resulting in an accident.

*Do not cross the pit exit line and be prepared to give way as drivers on track have right of way.

Deliberate Corner Cutting

*Cutting a corner, or deliberately running into tyres on a chicane will not give the driver an advantage. Keeping the car on the track at all times is vital to clean racing.

After The Race

*Slow down to a suitable and steady speed, remain in your current positions and return to the pitlane, park in a single file line in the pitboxes and wait for the instruction to

leave/spectate.

*The top 3 drivers must line up next to each other on the start finish line.

*Do Not pit straight away, or crash into other racers.

Yellow Flag

*When presented with a yellow flag, no overtaking is allowed unless you are overtaking the drivers involved in the incident that has caused the yellow flag.

Incident Report

*If you wish to report an incident after the race, please do so by sending a private message to the league administrator. To be fair to the drivers involved in the incident or being reported, the league administrator will give a chance for the reported driver to explain himself. Alongside 3 other marshalls, the league administrator will investigate.

Please cut out the incident in the mpr with mprEdit.

Penalties:

There will be 4 stages of penalising.

Stage 1: a warning will be sent to the driver who was penalised.

Stage 2: will be given a +10 second penalty of his total completed time of that race.

Stage 3: will be given a 2 race ban.

Stage 4: will be banned from the league.

Thanks guys for offering.. Its my team manager who is running the servers for the team so we're trying to resolve the issue of the major lag (or warping cars) as its happening on all our servers. If we can't fix it, I'll let you know . He should be installing the LFS Car Restrictor on it as well when he installs mono (apparently, the equivalent of .net but for Linux) so that it can work.

If any of you guys are interested in doing some FZ50 GT3 Cup testing, I'm heading to the server now. I have a beta set that we can use thats based on the average of all WR sets (suspension and brakes) but all other settings are based on Jet's BL1 Patch X set. Anyway, point is to test so if you're interested, come on down .

Yep, I will request all drivers to send their qualifying setups before qualifying and before both races. I will be enforcing a no Shift+S or Shift+P rule to better enforce the fixed setups system.

I'll be adding the setup parameters to the document once I calculate the average brake power of all WR sets. I've already done suspension now but still, I think we need to do some testing to make sure that the car is driveable.

On a side note, the server is now online so if you'd like to join in, I'm on the server now.
