FZ50 GT3 Cup: Super Stiff Set Vs. Normal FZR Set
Leprekaun
S2 licensed
Hi all! I've noticed that a lot of people are disappointed to know that the super stiff set has been dumped but I've decided that the best way to go about this is through a voting system.

Super stiff set:

Spring Stiffness:
250 N/mmm / 250 N/mm

Bump Damping: 8.3 Ns/mm / 6.8 Ns/mm

Rebound Damping: 12.0 Ns/mm / 11.3 Ns/mm

Standard FZR Set:

Spring Stiffness:
102.3 N/mm / 87.8 N/mm

Bump Damping: 8.3 Ns/mm / 6.8 Ns/mm

Rebound Damping: 10.5 Ns/mm / 9.8 Ns/mm

So vote for the preffered setup that you'd like to use. All other components with the exception of the front wing, gearing, differential, mass position, brake power are adjustable.

Regarding the test event tonight, the normal FZR set will be used as to avoid confusing anyone.

Kind Regards,

alright, I have a suggestion, I can make a poll for the setups to see which you guys prefer more, I think thats fair enough?

Quote from bbman :Cancel my participation... With that setup, this has nothing to do with Porsche GT3's anymore, it became just another FZR only-league... A shame, it started so well...

I'm sorry to see you leave but obviously, the choice is up to you. I still think it'll be a great league and has potential for some of the best racing in LFS.

pearcy, no need to start getting aggrevated. A few other teams had no issue in switching their mirror colours. You are the creator of JEDI Racing, therefore you are driver #1 within the team. It makes sense that you are so please, change your mirror colour to abide by the rules. Its just a matter of using the colour replacement tool, thats all.

so can anyone help me to get the drifting scoring system to work please?

Quote from pearcy_2k7 :Is that ok Lep?

They're fine, however, the mirror colours must be inverted as you are the main driver and Matthew is the secondary so the skins don't comply to that rule.

Quote from himself :... because the flag was not correctly visible on white background. ReUploaded anyway.

Sorry for the bother but the mirrors are still red. They need to be turquoise.

if it isn't visible, I suggest maybe placing a black background behind the text? that would definitely make it visible.

Its better but I'm sorry, still unacceptable. You have placed a border around the Polish flag.

The mirrors are also in the wrong colour as stated here.

Quote from pacesetter :Whats the number I have so i can put it on my skin. Its made and all!

I need your team details for the cup and you must state whether you're a privateer or works team. I've already mentioned it.

@DJeranDos: ok, thank you. Will make your number board and name tag now

@DJeranDos: Your skin kit has been added. It can be found here.

K, will change the rule to the back of the grid.

@bbman: its not about whether I like the setup or not, its about whether its driveable for all tracks or not. Porsche don't go every track to test, simply, because it would be very costly and difficult for them to do so so I'm sure they just calculate everything back at Weissach where they have detailed equipment and data of each track to make sure the car's suspension settings are realistic. Remember as well that they race on F1 tracks (silk smooth roads) so they don't exactly suffer from the issues of crazy jumping when it comes to a bump. I've watched these cars live when I was at Silverstone and they were fairly stable, except for a little bouncyness (I mean very little) when they went over kerbs.

I've tested the Benji's super stiff set and I'm sorry to say that it has failed for most of the tracks. At Blackwood, the car was very unpredictable and had HUGE amounts of oversteer on throttle. At Westhill, I felt like I was driving on ice, I had to be super careful not slide it into any of the fast corners. At Kyoto, it was acceptable although, at the exit of one or two corners it felt a bity hairy but it passed there. Also, it would pass at Kyoto GP as the car didn't seem to offer any suprises. At Fern Bay Black, it failed miserably. The car first of all couldn't go over ANY kerbs which are vital at a track like Fern Bay and it had the issue of understeering out then going into snap oversteer so was quite unpredictable. At South City, the car generally felt fine except for the fact that it kept jumping when it came to the bumps and was very tricky in some of the corners.

At this point, I decided to stop as it already failed 4 out of the 8 tracks so its not acceptable so I will be going with the alternate suspension settings. I'm sad to see it as the car was interesting to drive but being interesting and being raceable can sometimes be impossible.

Sorry Benji, I know you worked hard on the set but it just can't work for a lot of tracks.

I'm sure you can find a team mate. Check your team mates at Parkfield to see if they're interested.

Well, if there will be someone whos getting a 1:07, that means that they're not running a restricted FZR and I will be enforcing restrictions through an InSim application that will monitor each car to see if they're using restrictions or no so if there car is anything below (also checks if its above) the restrictions, the driver will be kicked to spectate and as stated in the rules, won't be allowed to qualify any further. So quite simply, if a driver isn't running a restricted setup, the best that he will most likely be able to do is a mid-high 1:09 by which then their final time would be considered a mid-high 1:11.

The team that you choose to be for the cup. I need to know as well if you're entering a privateer or do you intend on teaming up with someone else.
Is it just me or there isn't loss of grip (tyre wear) in LFS?
Leprekaun
S2 licensed
Hi all! something thats been puzzling me now quite a bit is tyre wear. Now, I do know that there is tyre wear but they only wear out until a puncture happens, not lose grip over time because I remember while practicing for an IGTC race, I could get a lap round AS Historic, mid-way into my stint (30 mins), of 2:20.7 and then as I was near the end of my stint, 1 hour in, I got 2:20.2 so there is something clearly wrong there. I know that tyre physics aren't exactly 2+2=4 kind of mathematics but still, there should be some sort of tyre degradaton over time because like this, if a driver can get the tyres to last for the time that he needs, he can gun it 100% all the way through, always getting the same lap times and removes a vital part of race strategy.

I will test the super stiff set tonight on all of the league tracks to see if its acceptable. If it fails on more than one track (wheels lock up too easily, lots of bouncyness) then we will use the alternate.

Sorry about that Reece , I actually found out that there are 31 entrants not 32 as I forgot to account for Kirill Dremljuga cancellation so you are considered an official entrant .

FZ50 GT3 Cup: Reserves
Leprekaun

Hi all! I've noticed that some people were disappointed to find out that there are no places left in the league so I've decided to add a reserves system. The idea is that if there are some of the original entrants haven't joined the server five minutes prior to qualifying, then a PM will be sent by me to all reserve drivers to see if they're interested in competing.

If in the case one of the original entrants misses more than 1 round while a reserve driver replaced him twice, then the roles will be switched in that the original entrant will be considered a reserve and the other driver as an official entrant.

If you're interested in being a reserve for the league, please post a reply to this thread with the details below:

Licence name:

Screen name:

Team name:

Privateer or Works team:

I have my own skin:
