Quote from house_Fly :Well Like I said bring the game to the us in a retail store and Ill buy it. I am using the version Ls2 v 0.8U. There was no crack folder or anything nor did I replace any .exe files. I'm j/w how you guys know steps to cracking this game..?

And I guess everyone is angry because they paid for their version of the game then some person comes along and unknowingly gets a "cracked version".
I also don't understand wtf everyone is trying to emphasize here because in all honesty do you think a person who knowingly hacked this game would be flaunting it on the official forums?

It's not in a store anywhere. You clearly have access to the internet, therefore you can download and buy it.

Nobody on this forum is angry because they paid for it and you didn't. There's a price for entertainment and LFS is a good deal for many. The basic "discovery" of a cracker occurs after they do something stupid and post a video or something proving that they have a cracked version. You have done just that. A silly, rather hard to believe excuse generally follows.

Quote from house_Fly :Idk what the RB4 is but the skidplate is from the demo I got from fknowned, and I would consider buying LFS if it was in America and it was purchasable through a retail outfitter. I cant buy stuff in euro's or over the internet.

Hello and welcome to 2007- you can't use stupid excuses like that in this day and age.

Quote from Cr!t!calDrift :Are you just joking? Because lfs int that realistic yet.

Plus, Im not talking about HUGE bangs, just dents that expose the tires

If you're hitting the wheels (which probably happens when you "expose the tires"), the force of the impact is felt by everything connected to them- that includes suspension. Pay more attention to what you're doing in LFS and you'll see that although it's not 100% accurate, it's pretty close. One thing that you might not be thinking about is speed- you can't really tell how fast you're going unless you look at the spedometer. You might think you're going slow, but you might actually be going 100kmh(not really THAT fast but it's fast enough to do some serious damage)

Quote from axus :Really? You can't do it in real life so why should you be able to in LFS? You can only keep tyres at a decent temp using those tyre blanket things, but in LFS tyres start at way above the ambient temp so I guess that's accounted for.

I don't see why not- different compound tires already start at different temperatures in LFS.

As for saying 'Dolphins are different', why? If its ok to eat cats, dogs, horses etc, why not Dolphins?

Cute factor.

Quote from Btoryo :Oh my god that video was wrong. Makes me sick looking at it. I'm Asian, but at least I don't eat dolphins.

In time, I hope you realize that's a stupid comment.

Back on topic- TBH, I think the movie was unsettling. It's sad and I don't like the idea of it.

That said, this is one of those videos that highlights the worst elements of an industry- every industry has them. Besides, compare the number of dolphins killed to cattle, fish, etc. killed for food- newsflash: not a whole lot of people eat dolphins , I wonder why

It's not pretty but that's life.

I'd like to see the average reaction to this video compared to the average reaction to a PETA video about cows or a less "cute" animal or one that is more widely accepted as edible. I'm positive that the difference would reveal quite a bias towards "cute" animals.

Jason Plato at his finest, he should stick to being a crap presenter on 5th Gear.

IMO it really looked like Neal was being too aggressive there. One could argue that he tried to cut Plato off (1st incident) and then squeeze in where there was no room (2nd incident).

Quote from Takumi_lfs :why do grip racer's Hate Drifters??? Becuzz they cant drift...

If you knew anything about drifting/cars/racing/anything (which you don't, by the way) you'd know how stupid you are.

I'd be willing to bet you don't know why they *really* put aero kits and wings on drift cars.

hmmm, how to explain this more betterer ....

I tried to explain better, but I was just typing in circles

I need someone with experience in Sales to explain this.

No, we get it.

You want package deals but ultimately a lower price for LFS. LFS costs less than virtually every new computer game and definitely less than the games for the next gen. consoles.

Quote from Rooble :Wow, with a post like that I can see why Ian flipped his biscuit.

You can take a super fast racer and make him a drifter, but id like to see you make a drifter a super fast racer

Oh as for a 'moutain drift course' no, Id prefer to have a few more 'race' tracks or some new cars or better sounds.

Great car control and knowledge of car behavior are essential for both professions that you mentioned. It may take a while, but both situations can happen because they both come from general knowledge of car control.

Quote from mrodgers :The only thing I had ever heard/seen when the term (or acronym) JDM is used is when someone with a Japanese vehicle here in the states that has gawdy body kits, big oversized ridiculous wing, and huge ugly "bling bling" wheels with tires that have a profile of about 5 mm gets called a ricer or his car gets called rice and he argues that "No way, it's not rice, it's JDM!" So, sorry if I called it rice or made a rice comment.

So, now that we have USDM and EDM on top of JDM, then it all comes down to complying with that area's laws? JDM would be illegal here then as JDM would mean meant for Japan's market, thus for the laws in Japan and not here in the US. USDM would be vehicles and parts manufactured for the US complying with the laws in the US. We have never had the same vehicles available that is available elsewhere in the world. Just look back in the mid 80's when the UK was in love with the Ford Escort. In the mid 80's, the Ford Escort was an underpowered economy POS in the US. We did not have the Escort, was it Cosworth or something, available. So many VW vehicles and Subaru's that we could not have that was available anywhere else outside the US. So, in that respect, then yes, EDM or JDM would be much much better than USDM, but we are not capable of having that due to the law.

Now 4 door pickup trucks are all the rage here in the US. It's no longer the SUV that is the selling leader. These came about just in the last few years, yet in Australia (and elsewhere?) Toyota has had the Hilux pickup truck (4 door truck) since the late 70's when the Toy pickup has been around. (just an example of something else that was always available outside the US).

So, sorry when someone mentions JDM to someone in the US, because anything that actually is for performance that would be deemed JDM would be illegal, thus they go for the JDM body kits, wings, wheels, etc to attempt to get away from the "ricer" stereotype, thus saying JDM would just be rice.

Oh, that makes a lot more sense now. I was thinking about actual JDM cars. People calling their USDM civics JDM is a totally different (and sad) thing. All of the cars I see now are "JDM INSPIRED, y0 LOLZ OMG!!!1111!11oneone"

bladerunner- the 200SX (in Europe) is the Nissan Silvia. It never had a twin turbo or any of the other things that you mentioned. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_Silvia

chopaholic- way to contribute to the conversation. I really think that we've all benefited from your intelligence.

JDM>USDM
EDM>USDM

We don't get the good versions of imports here in the U.S.. Civics, Integras, Silvias, M3s, Quattros, etc. The list is quite long

I'd rather not get involved in the JDM vs. EDM argument, seeing as how they are both well-suited to their places of origin. Although Japanese cars fit in Japan and are able to navigate the tight roads, they don't seem to do too well on the more open roads. The opposite is true with European cars- They're great for an open road but barely fit on the roads in Japan (If you've ever seen a MB SL65 in Kyoto, you know what I mean).

Quote from mrodgers :All terms thought up by the ricers to escape the "that is rice" flames. A wing on a FWD is rice, whether it is JDM or not. It's still rice.

While I agree that it's completely idiotic to put a wing on the civic that you drive everyday on the road, it may shock you that wings DO improve performance of FWD cars- watch a BTCC race and you'll see what I mean.

Shotglass.. I hadn't been around for a few days, hence my reply now to the thread again and of course getting around a track 1/10th quicker than the previous time / person has a point... to umm, oh yeah, win the race! Sliding the arse end around like a 17 year old kid poser proves nothing.. anyone can do it, even Jeremy Clarkson! If acting silly in such a way floats your boat fine

I'll agree that most drifters on LFS are stupid (I won't bother ranting about why they are) but Ian.H- that is the most hypocritical thing I have read in a long time.

Winning the race is as pointless as anything else. You don't gain ANYTHING from it (professional racing excluded, obviously).

am i going to have to practise hard to get on top teams

Like most things in life- LFS takes practice. 1 month is hardly long enough to expect anything good. Don't worry about it

Quote from T-6 TURBO :100% yes!!!!! we need some more drift type of tracks/ tracks with really good turns and alot of turns

The idea of a pure drifting track is stupid. I can see mountain roads but a track built specifically for drifting would be stupid and a waste.

D1GP & Formula D run mostly on portions of existing tracks. Good race tracks make good drifting tracks. We have good race tracks, therefore we have good drifting tracks.

Where did you get the "100% yes" figure from? Last I checked it was 50/50.
