AC should already be in the presets, atleast with the current drivers, no need to create a new one.

From what I've read, you might get jumpier/lower FPS in some games if you use 1 as global. I'd stick with individual profiles.

I believe 0 usually means automatic = 3.

I've used 1 on every sim as it's the lowest setting you can manually choose from the drivers and haven't had any issues.

Quote from Boris Lozac :Anyone noticed that new patch/es have defaulted the INI files? Just saw that my Max frame latency is back to 0, funny enough i didn't noticed any differences, placebo?

That's why you should force it from drivers (if you're on Nvidia) rather than games ini files that can get patched over to defaults.

Quote from Kristi :Well, you can compare the FZR and 458 as they are the same engine layout.

Uhh, FZR is rear engine, 458 is mid-engine.

They're both the same card with a different third party cooler. Both are crap (loud) if you ask me, I suggested the Asus DirectCU model above which is quiet, but I guess you ignored it.

Quote from Flame CZE :But that doesn't happen in 0.6E.

You're right, looks like DX8 somehow manages to avoid the 60 FPS aero limiter.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :I noticed that V-Sync is active in windowed mode (even when disabled). Full Screen allowed my GPU to flex its muscle (400 FPS!).

Normal behaviour if you're running aero in windows 7, because it also enables vsync for desktop.

Edit: Running LFS windowed at 60 FPS does seem to have quite a bit of microstuttering though...

Asus GTX 660 DirectCU only needs one power cable aswell.

Quote from Ball Bearing Turbo :In LFS there's still things you couldn't achieve like the gear ratios being way to adjustable. You might buy an after market set or two, same with a differential, but you won't have the options they have in LFS. So it's debatable whether that's sort of thing even belongs in a sim; at best it really ought to be offline only I think

Gear ratios (transmission and diff) are pretty much the only wildly unrealistic setup option there is in LFS. Aside from those, I can't see why everyone should be locked in to limited setups, especially on private servers for example.

I guess that's one reason why AC devs are introducing these "stage" and drift models of the stock cars, but even they lack some badly needed settings.

I'd love to have fully tweakable setups on all cars like in LFS. They could be hardcoded to be unavailable for hotlapping and normal races, but I'd want to be allowed to mess around with the cars in the way that I want in practice mode or in multiplayer servers that allow it. After all, being able to setup your car like that takes nothing more than giving it a few racing parts that make it possible in real life.

There's no reason why we can't have our cake and eat it too when it comes to simulators. Not allowing all kinds of setups because physics reasons just means the physics engine should be improved so weird WR setups like in LFS wouldn't be so freaking fast.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :The nVidia drivers do have "nVidia Surround" which does allow you to create 1 giant surface. Just like ATi cards have "Eyefinity".

However Surround requires 3 screens, Eyefinity only needs 2.

I think they're both fairly terrible for desktop work unless you run everything in small windows... and hope that Windows (OS) remembers their location and size, which it usually doesn't.

I thought the AI was pretty fast (atleast in the E30 race) after the pack spread out a bit, was actually having some trouble catching the leaders.

Oculus released this today, pretty interesting read. Might give Scawen some tips about making the Rift implementation even better.

Ahh casual racers, they're so cute when they try to act like they know what they're talking about.

I heard the latest prototype uses pentile and the screen door effect was much worse than the previous 1080p prototype as a result. Sadly it looks like Carmack got his wish with the OLED pentile sillyness, I just hope they'll use a proper screen again for the consumer version.

Uhm, although the 295 is an ancient card with its dual gpu issues, it's still a lot faster than that...

I'd go for the Toyota if the norwegian ones are built in Japan instead of UK. Mazda if the Toyota is UK built.

Why? Reliability.

Quote from siralva1 :Easily 2100 are using cracked versions. $30.00 (s2 licence) x 2100 = $63,000.00. That $63,000.00 that could have already have funded the S3 update.

Hint: All the money in the world wouldn't bring S3 any quicker.

You spoke nothing of popularity in your previous post, besides you can sort mods by most recent/top rated/most popular by x time. It's not exactly the distribution platforms issue to worry about how successful mods are, if the mod is good, it'll become popular since the sim racing community is tight knit and word of mouth travels quickly.
