Great to hear. Would be a good idea to get a DK2 test patch in ASAP and beat other competing racing sims to it. Current DK2 owners seem to be going crazy for anything to play. My unit won't be here until monday, UPS is taking a week to get a package from UK to Finland.
Regarding the devkit itself, FOV is apparently quite a bit smaller than it was with DK1, which is quite disappointing, because it was barely acceptable before. Chromatic aberration due to the much smaller screen is also a lot more pronounced according to some people, hoping future SDK updates will improve it as much as possible.
Can't really ask too much from a devkit, though I really hope CV1 will be state of the art VR perfection when it launches next year.
The track I've driven the most in Assetto Corsa (other than Nordschleife) is Blackwood, even with all the official laser scanned real tracks available.
The DK2 apparently has a problem with colors smearing to the areas of the OLED screen that are "true black" = pixels that are completely turned off. This SDK gets around that issue by apparently keeping all the pixels slightly illuminated at all times.
I don't really agree as a whole. Anyone should be free to mod and release their mod to be used by anyone who wants to if they so wish.
If the mod isn't good, then people won't use it. There are shit mods for AC already, but I don't see them used in any servers, no forced moderating needed there.
I went for the 16GB white chinese model too, because they were in stock here and easily available. Couldn't be bothered to go through with the whole invite nonsense.
Might get a 64GB international version later if they ever drop the invite system and decide to add support for 800 MHz LTE.
