Thanks for your reply. So it is possible that it was lag. I guess I won't be able to tell from my replay as someone who hasn't braked hard enough and what you describe "zoomed into the back of you" would look the same?
It's not worth worrying about, it was one knock in one race. It just intrigues me and I'd like to see his replay to see the differences.
I guess I'll just have to wait and see if he sends it to me.
Would it be best to see a replay from someone who wasn't involved in the incident? Something I won't be able to get hold of now though.
Last night I was racing on BL1R and 3 of us were entering the chicane together with 1 behind. Now as it was three of us entering together we obviously couldn't all enter at normal speed for the chicane so we had to slow a little more.
The lone car behind us then caught up and hit me from behind, knocking me off the track.
Oh well thinks I, s*** happens, but I am a little annoyed that the guy who hit me didn't say sorry so I tell him so. He's still racing and so doesn't reply so I go off and take a quick look at the replay before I say any more.
In the replay I saved it clearly shows him not braking enough and hitting me.
So the race ends and I ask him why he didn't bother to apologise.
"I didn't hit you, you lagged" is the answer I get back.
"My replay shows you clearly hit me" says I
"Not mine" says he.
So I ask him to save it and say that I will apologise if this is indeed true.
I've also PM'd him on here with my email address asking him to forward the replay to me but so far he hasn't. Though it was only just over 12 hours ago I asked for it so I'm not saying he's refusing/ignoring. I'm just interested in the answer and a litte impatient.
So my question: Is this possible? I've not come accross it yet.
I don't have the replay here at work and see no point in posting it anyway as I'm only asking a general question and see no need to get names involved.
SparkyDave, I did a quick search but saw no recent discussions on this issue. Maybe it's one of those things that the we're glad it's more realistic club ignore!!
danowat, I was at the back of a line of 27 cars all finishing the race together tonight (well 28 seconds apart but a line of 27 cars with an average gap of 1 second is rare in my experience so far).
NotAnIllusion, yeah I don't think a marshall is the answer. Like you say if you go wide by accident it would be really annoying to be spec'd for an error that is going to lose you time anyway. It's just a shame that these "fast" drivers feel they need to cheat to be "fast". I watched a couple of drivers do it EVERY lap. Maybe LR can bring in a rule for this and make it reportable? The forum for reports doesn't seem too full, or is it heavily edited? Or am I being anally retentive? (sp?)
Last night at one point we were on FE3R and after rolling my car at the chicane I decided to watch the leaders for their lines rather than rejoining.
I noticed that at both the chicane and T1 they were cutting the corner, ie up on the grass and all wheels inside the white line at the side of the track.
Is this generally accepted as ok? I've always believed that the rule is for 2 wheels to be on the track (the track side of the white line).
If this is accepted as ok it's hardly realistic and simulating racing or is it a case of most people do it and to be competitive you have to follow?
Don't feel humiliated that you have got off your ass and looked for work. Decent people will see it as a positve thing. The only people who will laugh are the lazy and you are already better than them.
Good luck with getting the internet on your gaming PC
You make a big assumption there considering you state that you "cannot be arsed"
One major difference between this and the old CTRA is that this has active online admins, well it has Void , and doesn't solely rely on a reporting system.
Anyway, it's your choice and your loss if you "cannot be arsed". Personally I've had some great racing there. Why you could be arsed to make that post though is beyond me but who am I to question your motives.
...and while I'm posting in this thread...
Void, any news on that website that was mentioned at the beginning of this thread? Or have I missed something?
Thank you all for your kind words. I haven't actually seen Lucy since she got home as I no longer live with my old man, haven't done for years, but I'll be seeing her at the weekend.
I think you missunderstood what I was getting at. Becky knew what I meant and has obviously a similar vision for a while.
I wasn't talking about comparing the servers.
You asked what happened to the SR servers? I think LR happened to them. SR has points being reset every month while LR keeps the points going. Just my opinion, I could be way out.
Say what you like about the racing being the most important, people like to collect points, they like to see that they are gaining something over time, me included.
My thoughts are that SR could carry on their monthly points thing but also every point you earn at SR could count towards your "career" points. This way "points collectors" would have more choice of where to drive. Same could work for the Driving standards and bans etc. Get banned from one, get banned from them all.
I'm not saying any of this is easy to implement, it's just an idea. What I am also NOT saying is they would have to become the same.
Have you passed your resume out to every store and business around your area?
I couldn't agree with this more. Both me and my wife to be have our current jobs because we sent out cv's with covering letters to the type of business we wanted a job in asking to be considered if a vacancy comes up.
And no I never noticed the streaming? chat things.
Yet earlier you wrote
if you were in the server at the time you probably saw me ask what's revenge wrecking right before I got banned
Whats that I can smell?
Short bans are handed out to give people time to reflect on their actions and come back with a better attitude. Personally, after your weak excuses I would extend your ban as it is plain that you are unable to do that. Luckily for you I have nothing to do with [SR]
New to lfs? 20 months, you consider to be new? Or did you first get the demo 20 months ago and only recently came back and bought an s2 licence?
I wasn't aware of the website/forum and the ability to report people
So you noticed the chat in the top left, you even know how to add to the chat in the top left but you failed to spot the reminder of where to go to report people which appears frequently in a different colour!. Pull the other one.
About the crashers: that's why I really don't approve of the destruction derby server. It's practically a crasher factory even if I try to tell myself that crashers will have their fun there and will leave "serious" servers/racers in peace.
There will always be people who want to spoil other peoples fun in life. Crashers in lfs, bullys in a school playground ruining smaller kids games, etc. The fact that there is a destruction derby server will not encourage or discourage this behaviour in my opinion.
It is a place that people can go where they don't have to be serious. Personally I like to log in there when I've had a drink or 2 so that I don't have to worry about my poor driving ruining other drivers races.
People who wish to spoil other's fun will not bother with the DD servers because their actions will not get the desired result.
