Well, I can add that I too had worse connection to Richard's server than on any other, both yesterday and last week in the test races. It was not as bad for me as cmkcowen described, but green bars were noticably higher than usual. Perhaps its a good idea to use someone else's dedicated server?

One other suggestion, but it might be too late to change this now that cup has already started: As the field is quite spread out there was not much excitement in the main race, so perhaps the starting order should be reversed, or at least first 6 or 8 should start main race in reverse order to provide for some more overtaking and fun? I'm pretty sure that most of the people (if not all) wouldn't mind this. In Czech FXO league they did it like this, also ERRC and us in Balkan League (TBO class as well) and it proved to be good.

Otherwise it was fun. Nice, relaxed atmosphere, and nice racing.

So far in Nations Cup its been like only the nations who were organized and determined enough (and fast enough of course) have made it through to this stage. We know there are many other good fast nations but they were sadly out very early in the cup because they just couldn't find enough people and motivation to race at the time, like Sweden, Spain, Hungary, USA, etc. UK have decided to split to England, Scotland and Wales and only Scotland managed to race in couple of events. If they have stayed together they would do much better for sure.

All in all, this is the first ever Nations Cup and many things keep improving and lessons are learned, so the next one should be much more exciting and better overall as the whole concept is very appealing. It's a huge and difficult task to organize all this, at the beggining there were 5 groups of 5 or 6 nations, over 300 drivers in total, over 80 at each event in first stage... a very big league.

Thank you. Well, its been around for few weeks already, I should've announced it here earlier, but little by little it has grown and now includes lots of things in it, so there it is. It helped our friends to look for and join more events that they previously didn't even know about, and that was the main purpose of it. Its kinda frustrating that many leagues just keep themselves closed on their websites and forums and general public who might be interested usually doesn't have any idea what is going on.

Adding events doesn't take too much time, it just took me a while to dig the infos from each website but it was worth it, and I will keep updating it from time to time.

We used the extcalendar module for it, link and info about it is at the bottom of the calendar if anybody else is interested in using it on their site. I'm not the webmaster so I don't know much about it.

LFS Leagues Calendar

I've listed most of the bigger LFS leagues and other events in event calendar on Cyber Racing website. This may be pretty useful for anybody that races in those leagues or looks for some league to join, to see in one place what is going on in LFS racing world, or for anybody else who plans making his own league to find the appropriate dates. Take a look.

Funny how too many people choose mondays.

It was a really great race, battle with n1lyn was just amazing, shame that he had a disconnect and that it didn't last even longer. Even in a slower car and overheated tyres he just cannot be overtaken easily.

I really enjoyed it all, everything went smoothly, last minute adjustments for the race actually worked. Was a bit surprised that I won in the end as Moby had a big advantage before the pitstops, but anyway it was all for fun and I hope it is enjoyable to watch as it was for us.

Great event, thanks SDRA for doing this.

Lets see... Arne Krabbenhoeft of n!faculty did the most laps in 24h race: 204 laps out of 517 which was 40% of the race. But the longest stint was done by Keith Malcomson of team ITEK: 5 hours of racing in a row (with a record short "emergency break" during one of the pitstops).

Here are the stats: http://moe.lfs-tracker.de/index_full.html

Here's one pretty fast, clean, close and hard race between 3 FXO's at the front on AS2 from start to finish. Other races from that night had more spectacular moves but this one was the closest as a whole. Enjoy.

Excellent combination for racing, I didn't see it posted here so far.

Boris also made a little movie about it.

To be exact, the points where players' cars appear after taking over are the joins of the big track Aston GP configuration and National. In our case it happened at the first "intersection", see the attached screenshot from my replay. And some other teams got teleported to the other intersection, the one just after 2nd split.

PS don't be confused by the lap info in my screenshot, those were for some other car. I'm just showing the spot where the car gets teleported.

For me the high point of the race were last 5-6 hours when after our last problem and loosing the lap to pod team we got determined to get that position back. Seemed like almost possible but hard thing to do. From then on till the finish it was a chase at almost the WR pace, lots of 2:41s, almost a hotlapping session with the whole team checking every laptime of us and them, calculating pitstops both teams have to make till the end and changing strategy accordingly. It got even more intense when Kalbitzer got back in the car to make Andreas and Uroš work that much harder for it. In the end it was only 10s difference after 24h.

Of course, the other high points for me were during the night, while I was doing my share of driving, when we were running at the faster pace than other top teams, gaining positions, checking our progress on the radio (being in 1st at one time), meeting other teams on the track as we lapped them (or some ulapped from us like Norbi ) or scrambled for position. Was great fun and much deeper experience than any other normal race.

I'm happy that we didn't make any mistakes on the track (apart from catching little dirt on tyres here and there and stuff like that), and that when things like disconnects and hardware problems happened we always had a driver ready to react quickly and jump into the race. It's a shame that after performance like this we had those misfortunes. We have gathered a good team, Andreas' determination was so high and he was pulling whole team to not just do well but win this race.

I'm also happy that many many fast drivers were participating in this race and, just like in modern endurance racing, the deciding factor was the performance, concentration and determination for everything to work like a clockwork throughout the whole 24h, without relaxing at any point. It really was a hot race from start to finish, rather than just an endurance test. Preparations were long and thorough for everybody, setups got better, WRs got smashed by at least 1-1.5 seconds during the past month.

Congratulations to n!faculty for the win, Arne was amazing, and everybody else, from organizers to every driver and team member for this one of a kind amazing race! It was a competitive and friendly atmosphere in the whole "paddock" on IRC and I loved every second of it.

Shame I couldn't watch the video brodcast, but for most of you who could I bet it made the whole was experience that much more complete.

And to avoid that problem, one just needs to leave and reconnect to the server immediately and all is fine again.

I encountered this problem (16 - Miloš Mijković). It happened when I connected to take over from Rumiko (16 - Anton Širočka) on our lap 244, as its shown in LFS. My LFS got some lag as I just connected to the server, probably as it was loading something big, and track was not drawn completely. When I took over from him I appeared at the corner just after the first split, the slow right one that connects to AS National, and the lap was still 244. So basically we lost great part of that lap.

I hope I was clear. If not, I can explain it again.

Well guess what, I also have P4 2.8, Ati R9000 but 1 GB RAM and I get about 75 fps when alone on track and about 20-30 fps on full grid starts. I don't know whats right with my PC and whats wrong with yours, but check your configs before saying some piece of hardware is crap. R9000 is still pretty much acceptable at least for LFS (and if the rest of hardware is good).

Quote from Rollon :forgot to ask... how do i change so when i change the speed in lfs it doesnt show that i slowed the speed in the upper left corner`?

Edit cfg.txt (while LFS is not running), find the MPR Message Block 0 near the end of the file and change that 0 to 2. This is the equivalent of pressing shift and -, it blocks system messages as well as chat mesages.

And then it would be trully fantastic if OutSim data could be fed live into Motec, perhaps even over the net to the team engineer. Is this doable?

Yes thank you, that did the trick, just like the normal LFS' cfg. Silly me, didn't exit the host while I changed the cfg file. I even found the translation entry in there.

Btw, info in link is quite old, doesn't include all the commands.
Couple of questions about dedicated host settings [solved]

I've set up a dedi host on my machine to try out several things about it and I have few questions:

How is it possible to change the name of the host that appears in the connections list in game? I've seen several hosts did that but I have no idea how. There's a host.ply file in misc folder of the dedi and also a mention of it in cfg.txt but changing those did nothing.

Dedi host also includes langage files. How to select them? Not that it is important but it would be nice.

I've noticed that loading autocross layouts works only in S2 mode. Back in S1 days I'm sure I've seen some objects placed on BL track to prevent cutting and going wide but I can't remember if that was in demo or in S1 mode. Is this deffinite that there's no way to use autocross objects in demo at all? I ask because I heard in autocross section of this forum someone mentioning the "version of the layout that works in demo" and wondering if he knew what he was talking about. I guess he didn't.

Yes, I was on a demo server today and admin was trying to ban someone with coloured name. He tried few times and instead of command being applied it just appeared as a chat message from him in red colour: /ban <someone>. That someone's name's colours were original (last character was red I think), only /ban was in red. Not sure if that is a bug or admin's mistake.

Side doors and door "handle" identical to the Citroen AX: http://www.sdis54.fr/images/Citroen_Ax_2.JPG

Rear also almost identical to the AX except the lights are moved up as like on a Punto: http://www.ibherdesign.com/pop_up/citroen-ax_oxygen_08.jpg (alright, that one is not stock but really looks like an XF GTi )

Front always looked to me like on an older Seat Ibiza: http://www.dustbrother.org/coches/ibiza/BENQ0146.JPG http://www.dustbrother.org/coches/ibiza/DSC00251.JPG

Oh and rear window "pointing" downwards like on Alpha 147 (more so in S1 version but still is somewhat): http://forums.autoweek.com/ser ... 867/alfa%20147%20rear.jpg

Eric's inspirations for XF GTi - busted.

Can anyone do a photomontage of all these cars and make a "photo" of the GTi if thats possible?

Yeah, we seem to have the arrow shown in our default codepages in Windows.

Oh great. Everything is fixed, thank you!

There's a tiny little bug when clicking on down arrow to show all characters: that down arrow changes into Ź when clicked, as in screenshot. It doesn't matter which codepage is selected, its Ź every time. I suppose it should change to the up arrow but Ź is in that place instead in Central European codepage (second screenshot).

I tried things that were the issue before and they are no more. Names in credits are all ok as well, one is missing but he'll be sending an email soon. Cool to see our names in credits of our favourite game.

Hope I don't find any more problems.
