Quote from Gentlefoot :Found a very cheap 748 which I'm gonna go see at the weekend if it hasn't gone. Might go sooner if I can get time off work.

V4 - Been looking at the SP2 and RSV but looks wise they are just nothing special. My Gixer looks much the same and I'm looking for something as different as possible - hence the v twins. Now if I went for the 748 I'd have Italian looks (the RSV doesn't look Italian if you ask me), the insurance would be no more than the Gixer and I'd be getting 3 extra BHP and about 5 extra ft/lb torque. The one I've seen has Termignonis too so will sound mental.

That'll save you a few quid if it comes with um.

Don't forget Ducati stands pop up as soon as you take the weigh off them!! I know from the hard way!!! Luckily i had a mate by the side of me to stop it from going over!!!

Quote from maczo :Nobody mentioned the Suzuki SV1000S. Is there something wrong with it and I happen to be the only one here that doesn't know that?
And I happen to, sort of, have one for sale, but you'd have to go a few miles to get it

This bike is tame in comparison to the RSV or Ducati.
I think its a detuned TL1000 motor, not sure, but doesn't cut it with the other bikes IMO.

Quote from Gentlefoot :hmm - Probably an MV Agusta F4

Ooohh italian exotica (doesn't come cheap or near £5000)

Cheapest one on biketrader.co.uk is £6995 on a 2000 W reg but 750cc.
But i imagine you would want the 1000cc one?

I agree with Dan, I think the Mille is more exclusive!

You need to get it piped and chipped, it then sounds incredible and goes like stink.

I've had my go at superbikes (for now) due to kids etc but i've got a soft spot for one of these BEEM'ers

Its supposed to be better than a VFR for all round use, but get hold of it and it goes like a train. I've seen one piped and chipped.......mmmmm.

OK so its not in the same league as the bikes your looking at.

Oh i'm desperate to get on a Buell as well.

I'll expand a bit more.

the ctrl + f5 key calls a script file called cycle_1_f9.lfs
that file is:

press F9
ctrlf 5 /run cycle_2_f9

the /run cycle_2_f9 calls another script file called cycle_2_f9
that file is:

press F9
ctrlf 5 /run cycle_end_f9

the /run cycle_end_f9 calls another script file called cycle_end_f9
that filed is:

press F9
ctrlf 5 /run cycle_1_f9

basically the script files create a loop pressing the F9 once to turn it on, and again to turn it off!!

Then in the Controls you can set the button on the DFP to Ctrl F5

I really hope this helps!

I've stopped using the profiler altogether.

To map the F9 key you need to run a script file via the CTRL keys, then map the CTRL ket to your DFP.

1st click on Text Keys in the CONTROLS page of LFS
Select the Ctrl + F key you want to map the script to.
The write a script file to say press F9.
Map the Ctrl + F key to your button and hey presto.

Please forgive my bad explanation of this, its as simple as i can make it......
i think!!

All the best

Andrew

EDIT

Having said all that, i'm pretty sure Scawen mentioned he would try and assign the F keys directly, so you wouldn't have to write the script files, but i can't remember when that would be.

Not for me i'm afraid.

BUT.. I do like the gear change animation and if you left foot brake, so does the driver!!

The sounds annoy me so does the FFB.
Better than GTR1 but not as good as LFS.

EDIT

Just started LFS
XFR @ SO
LFS just comes ALIVE!!

You dont realise how good you got it till you try something else!!

That sucks!!

Luckily you were going so slowly!!

Look on the bright side, at least it wasn't your bike! (if thats some consolation).

I hope you haven't lost any confidence from this.
This will make you even better at observing the dick heads around you, and become a better rider for it.

Take it steady

Quote from Hoellsen :Personally, I am wondering about that quite a bit. He's supposed not to be able to climb stairs without pain, getting his hip replaced but now puts on such performances? Yeah right, and those who got suspended from the Tour never had contact with that doctor in Spain.

Could be hype, but cycling isn't too harsh on joints unlike walking, running etc, so it is possible

That could explain why the general classification is so strange!!

I'm an avid viewer!!!
I wouldn't mind being as fit as the bloke who comes last in the T D F!!

I don't know what you Americans feed your blokes on, but they are GOOD.
You've got to admire Landis as he's having a hip operation soon, but still flying up the mountains!! Even Levi is getting better. But WTF has happeded to Hincappie, I thought he would rock, but seems he has lost motivation without Lance, who knows, maybe he will come good in the Alps.

The Aussies are doing well too, Robbie is a fantastic sprinter and Cadel could be in with a chance of overall victory.

This will be a good year with some of the top men already out. Its wide open. Still some severe mountains to climb yet so I don't know who is up for the win!!!

Quote from Greboth :would of liked to see that, damn cinema.
Was that of him in the castrol touota soarer? Or something like that?

I think that was the car, a Jap import, power up to 490ish bhp, with a chuffin great big truck turbo!! Apparently the lag was terrible.

I always thought drifters did the scandinavian flick to start the drift, but in this competition that was not allowed, so they use the handbrake then dump the clutch to keep the wheels spinning. Poor Tiff managed to brake the drive shaft!!! but he did manage to string a couple of drifts together. Like everything else, when someone does it properly it looks effortless.

Quote from SamH :
[edit] I actually like the /convention. I understand it, because it does help me to distinguish between components. It's like line-breaks in code, to me. It's just my feeling on it.

i'm with SamH on this one, I know very little about this sort of thing, but I know where I stand with the / commands

Quote from Scawen :With U13, you can assign shift S by looking at the Text Keys section in controls screen. Assign the text "/shift s" to one of those text keys, then assign that to your button. Then pressing that button will run the command "/shift s" which simulates a SHIFT+S keypress.

You can't assign F9 yet but you will in U14 I expect, you would then be able to use the command "/shift f9" to simulate a F9 press.

MANY THANKS!!
