Quote from shrubba :So after a few hours with a cutting wheel, mig welder, and messuring tape, here you go! I wanted the clutch to have the longer throw, like in a real car. I based the pedals measurements off of my RX-8, which has a 2 inch throttle and brake throw, and a 4 inch clutch throw, so that is what this setup now has. I just have to stiffin up the clutch spring now though because of the added leverage.

By the way, the 1x1 tube on the right bolts to my racing rig.

Pic of my racing rig is from 4 years ago when it had the old logitech wheel. now it has the G25 and the shifter attached. I'll have to get updated pictures soon.

Looks good, what's it like to use now?
Sequential Shifting Question

I've just managed to watch 5mins of the GT Racing on Ch4 this morning before the kids wanted Noddy......

I'm a potential G25 user, so my question is when in sequential mode in the GT cars do you still use manual clutch, or do these cars have an auto clutch system when they change?

If its manual clutch, would it be similar to a motorcycle, where you can clutchless shift UP but need to clutch down?

As far as I know only the BF1 has an auto clutch system IRL.

Thanks (and patiently waiting)

So, who do you think will deliver the wheels first...?
I have mine with Logitech, but does that mean they will ship first?

EDIT: this really applies to european orders i suppose

Quote from Rtsbasic :Haven't seen anyone posted this message from Gameseek so thought I'd share:

"You may know or not know that the G25 Wheel is yet to be released in
the UK.

It was expected to be here by Mid October, as this time has passed now
we have had an update today from Logitech on when to expect the first
stock in the UK. They have told us that the stock is shipping over to us
tommorow, and will arrive with us within 7-10 days. This i honestly
believe is actually very good news, as other retailers are now not
expecting stock till the end of November. So hopefully we will have it first
now "

They better make it quick, I move next Wednesday! Figured it'd be delivered well before then.

Did you receive this message today?

I think you've already answered your own question!!
Mine hasn't even arrived yet, but from what you have described, I wouldn't bother. Save your money and use it for modding what you have or perhaps upgrade your PC.

Quote from Rtsbasic :Don't suppose any of you guys in contact with Gameseek have heard if Logitech have sent them out yet?

I see from their web page they have knocked off the "days left till release"

Komplett are now saying 8 pcs (?) on 30/10/2006
Dabs is still 3-4 weeks
Logitech is soon

So nothing concrete really

Hats off to Elias, that outbreaking move from the start/finish line into the 1st corner was amazing!! A 0.002 sec win over Rossi must have been pretty satisfying

WOW you give your shifter a serious workout, i wonder if the G25 can withstand the same use?

To all those who live in a country where you drive on the left hand side of the road.....

When you get your new G25, are you going to shift on the left?
ATM, i've got a DFP which shifts on the right, but i'm going to have my shifter on the left, anyone else going to do the same.

Jakg, not strictly true, they are £157.49 delivered.

I ordered mine direct from logitech for £160 delivered, by answering a questionnaire and getting an evoucher for 20% off.

Just pre-ordered mine through logitech....
why i hear you shout, its costs £199
if you do a google search for logitech evoucher, you will find a survey which knocks off 20% so i paid £160 DELIVERED.

Quote from Rtsbasic :Hmm friday 13th, that never occured to me.

mrfell it looks like Gameseek is going to have them the soonest, if not already then they should in the next few days based on all the available infomation.

If Gameseek push it back to the end of the month I'm gonna go nuts with this Sidewinder..and I move on the 1st Nov, giving them a different address would confuse things.

seems your dfp could be on the move sooner than i thought HEHE!!

Quote from TheAni :Hi,
I am interested in the Driving Force Pro and have a few questions regarding it(bare with me on this):

-As with a real wheel when you turn it you have to return it back to the center to drive straight does the DFP have a 'spring' or does it stay true to this?

-Can the sequential stick shifter be moved to the left side like the momo?

-Is the product durable as in the calibration of accel. and brake and the general build quality?

-Are the buttons on the wheel all able to be used in the game?

-When the settings are correct does the wheel move exactly proportionate to wheel movements graphically in the cockpit?

Thanks,
TheAnimal

Hi Animal

1. You've got both choices here, the physics of the game will determine whether the wheel returns to the centre, but there is also the option of a return to centre spring.

2. The sequential stick is fixed, so can't be moved.

3. I've had mine a while now and all seems to be fine, there are some issues regarding the durability of pedals, but i would think you need to be abusing them regularly to break them.

4. I have every single wheel assigned to do something in LFS, over the top maybe, but very usefull!!

5. Yes, when congifured properly, the wheel rotation does match the wheel in game

All in all, for a relatively cheap wheel now due to G25, its well worth it, you'll have some good use out of it

The latest edition is available, there's a bit of a write up of the F1 cars in LFS and RFactor. The G25 gets tested to.

Great to watch, what pedals are you using, as it appears from your driving, you are heel and toeing?
