I hope people see through this Pirelli Bullshit already, the series shouldn't be based on who can underdrive the best, it is the root of all garbage in F1.
Well the difference being this is team orders for the contructors not Drivers.
Constructors must always be priority as its the Bread and butter for the teams, when a driver puts this at risk its more serious, especially at the start of the season, when teams are still figuring out where they stand.
Difference was, Redbull had a massive points advantage by this point.
It was half way through the season not the second race.
There was less points at risk.
Redbull do not currently know there position in this years championship yet so every point is much more critical.
Sounds slightly hypicritical from looking at it 2 years after it happened but webber is not saying that now is he and the whole dynamic of the championship ia different, also i would assume redbull would of had a big brief on all this which is why it happening again is much more serious.
If Indycar used european style ruling instead of full course caution stuff and double file restarts, Power probably would of won 95% of all the road courses he competed in since he joined Penske, however this is testiment to Indycars abilty to stop drivers dominating.
Mid season, no but they could atleast replace him with a seasoned STR driver for the rest of the year, sure they probably wont win a WDC but the constructors would still be possible and then they can hire who they wish after, Kimi for example would be a driver who would take it in a heartbeat and the team structure would suit him.
The reason vettel holds soo much power in the team is the fact Helmet marko will do anything to make sure he stays after all he gets all the praise for bringing him to the redbull program.
Redbull could get a world class driver in a click of a finger if they wanted, anydriver would take that seat over what they got currently, and they have to know this if they want to keep comtrol of there drivers because its just unfair to the whole team.
As much as i think Vettel is a Cock this is total bullshit, he is one of the top 3 drivers on the grid but i think its been exaggerated from webber not being suited to the pirelli nonsense.
As much as it might look better for the show the drivers are underdriving to keep the tyres from going all melted butter on them its garbage.
There is a reason why they have only won 1 title in the last decade despite being in the championship hunt pretty much every year, they constantly shoot themselves in the foot.

The Problem is Ogier is pretty much on the same level, Ostberg can stay with him a bit untill he has a car failure but at the end of the day he is on a private team he needs the Citroen factory seat, Citroen can't depend on someone who is only really competitive at 3 rallys it needs the best driver it can find, as Loeb proved in the first two rounds the car is good enough.
The guy came 4th with his family run team last year outscoring Solberg and almost latvala in the Factory ford, how much more does the guy have to prove himself to get a decent drive.
Ogier is taking off and his biggest challenge is from ostberg in a private team(even though the equipment is trying its best not to let him challenge by failing as much as it can), why Citroen hired Sordo over him baffles me more each day, i already knew hirvonen wasnt at ogier or loebs level the, supirior ford works car hid that fact, but then they hire a driver who they know is much inferior to Loeb as well, they did it to themselves hiring two 2nd drivers.
