Did anyone else notice how much Vettel said "it's incredible" in the press conference? Must be some sort of record! Well at least it's not "for sure"..

Also, I cringe every time Eddie Jordan asks a question in an interview. Jake and DC are all relaxed and jokey and entirely at ease, people seem to enjoy talking to them.. then it's EJ's turn..

"So.. uhh.. Felipe.. umm.. blah, blah, waffle, waffle"

And everyone's face instantly drops

Webber was blocked by Kimi on his final lap, then in the press conference said he must have been either dreaming or drinking vodka

Well, the usual dull Monaco race but some great comedy moments thanks to Brundle's epic gridwalk and Button forgetting where to park

Ferrari loses legal bid against FIA

"The Maranello outfit was told by French legal authorities on Wednesday that it did not have a valid reason to block plans for a £40 million voluntary budget cap.

The move means that next week's entry deadline for the 2010 championship will go ahead, leaving current teams a few days to resolve their opposition to the regulations."

He didn't mean what Brawn have done this year - he means F1 died as a concept because the technical regulations became so restrictive that it's easy to build something that will lap a track faster than an F1 car on a much smaller budget if you're not so constricted.

I think it's quite interesting how the world has become so sensitised to racism that it seems to have lost the point entirely - that a person's skin colour shouldn't be an issue at all. The vast majority are respectful but they still tippy-toe around any aspect of differing race because culture has told them to be so mindful of what they say or do in case it's taken the wrong way. Which is surely a double standard as it's an acknowledgement that people of a different race need to be treated differently

The problem most teams have isn't the budget cap itself, apart from Ferrari they all welcome that. The issue is the two-tier system, they don't want cars racing under two different sets of regulations

Edit: Renault have now also joined the 'we'll quit' party (source)

That makes Ferrari, Toyota, Red Bull, Torro Rosso and Renault so far

I love how they have mics in the 'pre-podium room' (or whatever it's called). It's nice to hear the drivers chatting spontaneously among themselves and not just spouting PR babble, which is all we usually get to hear from them

Anyway, to Webber, and good to see Ferrari making progress, more teams fighting at the front is good.. even if they are a bit of a comedy team right now

What's the BBC's obsession with 'pushing on'? Legard says it every time a different car comes into picture, Ant Davidson kept saying it during practice, and it even got a few mentions in the pre-quali show too.. is it the new 'for sure'?

..and now the 2010 Sporting Regulations have been updated again, the wins system is gone and the points are back:

“The Formula One World Championship driver’s title will be awarded to the driver who has scored the highest number of points, taking into consideration all the results obtained during the Events which have actually taken place.“

Apparently it was just a mistake.. or maybe this is a mistake.. who knows

Quote from Mattesa :Stepneygate, liegate, diffusergate....

What's with the "gate"? What the frack does that mean?

It's just a general term used to describe a scandal, it started with the Nixon scandal, which was called Watergate because the Watergate Complex was where it started
Liegate - McLaren get off with a warning

McLaren has been given a suspended three-race ban for bringing the sport into disrepute after lying to stewards at the Australian and Malaysian Grands Prix.

"That penalty is a suspension of the team from three races of the FIA Formula One World Championship. This will only be applied if further facts emerge regarding the case or if, in the next 12 months, there is a further breach by the team of article 151c of the International Sporting Code."

Whitmarsh chose to appear at the FIA hearing in Paris alone, staying for less than an hour to apologise for all that had happened.

"I would like to thank the FIA World Motor Sport Council members for affording me the opportunity to answer their questions this morning," said Whitmarsh.

"We are aware that we made serious mistakes in Australia and Malaysia, and I was therefore very glad to be able to apologise for those mistakes once again.

"I was also pleased to be able to assure the FIA World Motor Sport Council members that we had taken appropriate action with a view to ensuring that such mistakes do not occur again."

So basically all they got was a warning - "if you screw up again or we find that you weren't telling the whole truth, you're out for 3 races"
