Just another example of the press being gits really.. the interviewer was pushing him for a Ferrari comment, basically putting words into his mouth. He was asked if he wanted to be in the best car, then Ferrari would be the logcal choice - to which he replied, he always tries to be in the best car, and that Ferrari is usually one of the best.

I hardly think there would be a problem with him and Kimi. When he went to McLaren, he didn't expect that the team would develop an obsession with wonderboy. Not once did Alonso ever complain that he wanted to be undisputed No.1 - but it's not exactly a nice environment to work in when the team are all too busy cheering someone else on to be particularly interested in what you're doing.

If he did go to Ferrari with Kimi, he'd know that with two WDCs in the team, there would be no No.1.

Well that was dull, seemed only Alonso and Heidfeld could be bothered to try to overtake anything... 2009 regs can't come soon enough

Trulli was great though, was expecting him to have half the field in a train behind him but he was genuinely quick

Poor Flippy is strugging without his Massa Control, needs to get his act together soon or he'll find Alonso/Vettel sitting in his seat next year

Had do be done, the McLarens were just plain dangerous... fair enough, the Q3 format is rubbish, but they could have at least had the common sense not to sit on the racing line at 50mph while the session is still running, all of the other teams managed to do that fine.

p.s. I forsee another Trulli Train

If you remember, his suspension crumbled when he hit Massa in Melbourne.

The Red Bulls banned from the Malaysian GP, anyone ?

http://youtube.com/watch?v=xVM1xsiI4tM

Red Bull suspension disintegrates again - apparently the track rod broke (which in itself is worrying) and caused him to go off, but still very strange the way the suspension explodes - and also at the end, one of the wheels breaks its tether and flies away

Great news... I'll echo the "keep Brundle, drop the Cock" sentiments

I just hope that the BBC take it a bit more seriously this time around though. Last time they had it, there was no live qualifying, no race buildup, and as soon as the winner crossed the finish line, they were off to Songs of Praise

Oh wait, I just had a sudden brainfart and fixed it. I remembered that months ago I had nHancer installed and was using that to set LFS's graphic settings, but I uninstalled it. So I thought that maybe nHancer had left something behind that was causing a confilct, so I installed it again and used it to set everything to application controlled - and bingo, LFS's AF is now responding exactly as it should

So... worth trying - if you used nHancer (or any other prog like it) at some point, try sticking it on again

Sorry for the useless post

Having some strange issues with the AF too, I believe it's the same issue that STROBE is having - despite having everything set at off or application controlled on the Nvidia control panel, everything still seems to be turned on. Here's some examples, hope they help.

GFX Card: Nvidia Geforce 6800 AGP
Driver: 169.21
Mip Bias sliders are all at zero, all options in the Nvidia control panel are at "application controlled" where available

I'm seeing some people here with blurry images, but I never get this, everything is always quite clear even with everything turned off

The images: the first one is with LFS's AF turned off. The second shows it with it on 1x, you can see a slight difference but nothing really major has changed, just small subtle changes. The third image shows it at 2x - here you can see that nothing has changed at all, it's exactly the same as at 1x. This also happens on all of the remaining higher settings, exactly the same.

Strangely, if I alt-tab or ctrl+f4, and then back again, I get image 4 - everything goes very sharp and grainy. This only happens on 2x AF and upwards - at 1x and off, it doesn't

No idea if this is an LFS issue or a driver issue, but anyway...

Quote from Crommi :So does this mean that once license files have been updated, those under 1:44:00 on CD1 get automatically access to the CD2 server? I don't mind CD1 but it tends to get quite messy unless you're running in top 5 for first two laps.

Jup that's right

It's a press release. He's looking for a new job and being nice, as we all are when we're being interviewed. Once the contract is done and announced we'll hear what he really thinks.

Quote from axus :So... you're saying that Ron Dennis should have just said to Hamilton "look, we're gonna let Alonso win because he's a double world champion even though you as a rookie are out-classing him"? The problem is not Ron Dennis' policy but Alonso's attitude.

Err, where did you pull that from? I didn't say that at all. If Ron actually backed up his endless preaching about equality with his actions then I'd be more than happy. What I said was that throughout the decades Ron has always had a favourite despite what he claims, and Alonso was unfortunate enough - as were Prost, Coulthard and Montoya - to see this close up. I agree with you about the drivers' attitudes though. Not just Alonso, but also Hamilton - both have huge Egos and Ron failed to deal with that.

Quote from axus :What the hell?! McLaren have kept their dignity this year in my eyes after a really really bad year. Have you been reading Spanish press rather than FIA hearing scripts etc. to make up your own mind about it?

Have you been listening to "honest Ron" and McLaren press releases?

Alonso is another in a long line of McLaren drivers who will be relieved to get away from Ron's façade of equality and lacking man-management

Good for him for getting out of there, though I pity whoever takes his seat as goldenboy's number 2 in that hellhole of a team

Another gif, the LCD lights are crazy: http://78.129.139.89/lcd-display.gif

Most likely he pressed neutral (pic of Hamilton's wheel) - not sure was that really the cause for the problem.

I guess you could say that small things matters when it comes to the championship...

Interesting, looks to me like he tried to press the green "+10" button (whatever that is) but missed slightly and also mashed the neutral button. He probably didn't realise he'd done it and thought the gearbox packed up.

Quote from SamH :This is what I don't get...

http://f1.gpupdate.net/en/news ... -hamilton-praises-alonso/

After all the stuff that Alonso has said publicly this season about the people who pay his wages, doesn't anyone else read this and think "bananas!"?

It's no secret that Monty is a big Alonso fan, he's wanted to get him driving for Ferrari for years now... unfortunately for him, Todt isn't so keen on him.

Confirmed, the crybaby gets his way

Reuters are reporting that no action has been taken. Hardly surprising, even if he did drive like an idiot there was no way he would be punished. If golden boy didn't win it would be bad for business.

Thanks for the info. Yes it's a bit cramped on the legs but I'm sure I'll manage somehow

Now to decide which one to go for - I was leaning towards the MOMO but I'm finding it hard to track one down online at a decent price, and I'm hesitant to go for a second hand one after reading a lot about pedal issues. Probably easier to just go for a DFP in the end
MOMO/DFP - Will they fit my desk?

I've decided to buy a wheel and am looking at the two popular choices in my price range - the Logitech MOMO and DFP. The problem is I have very limited desk space. On top it isn't really a problem, but below the desk it is segmented into quite small sections and I'm wondering if the middle section is wide enough to accommodate the underside of these two wheels. Here's a brilliant piece of artwork showing my desk and the width of the underside and where the wheel would sit;

Will the underside of the wheels fit into this space? I appreciate any help.
