Badoer won't drive, he's not a racing driver, he's a development driver, every time he tests he's at least 2 secs off the pace. Don't forget when Shumacher broke his leg they went and got Mika Salo instead of putting Badoer in the car.

I don't think that explains it - if it had recently come off another car it would be bouncing down the track on the racing line, the replay shows that whatever it was came onto the track from the left

I may be going into conspiracy and tinfoil hat mode here, but looking at the replay closely there appears to be a person standing behind the armco in almost exactly the same place the piece of metal seems to come from

But the more I look at Massa's incident the more odd it seems. I just can't see where that chunk of metal came from, it's like it's just hovering in the air. There's no car anywhere in sight that could have thrown it up recently enough for it to still be boucning - and if anything it actually looks like it's coming from the grass on the left side of the track

I'm expecting Alonso to do well this weekend, hopefully see him back near the front. He ballsed up quali in the last race and his tyres were shot in the first stint, but the last stint showed the car's true pace with its upgrades

If you're using any custom textures/texture packs/addons/whatever, try with a clean LFS install and see if you have the same problems. I've had issues with some textures causing random FPS drops
