Not my cup of tea. I like cars with subtle spoilers, but I don't think the ZT has ever suited that MG spoiler. My Mother had a Trophy Blue ZT 190 a few years ago, and it had the MG lip spoiler. It looked much much nicer imo.

The one on the numberplate holder is the one I'm talking about.

Each to there own though!
Dead Island

Release Date: 2011 (TBC)

So apparently, there is a game due for release called "Dead Island". It is being developed for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

I've not managed to find too much information about it, and cannot seem to find any gameplay videos, but I have found this Trailer. From what information I have gathered, it's going to be a Zombie Apocalypse game. The story follows a group of four people, who have gone on vacation to some sort of exotic island, only for it to be overcome with Zombies (How Convenient!).

Here is the trailer I have found. There is a reversed one linked below it, just in case you don't like the original.

**TRAILER IS NSFW AND FEATURES A CHILD BEING MAULED TO DEATH**

Original

Reversed

I had a look on Wiki. It has some interesting tech information, which if it turns out to be true, could lead to this being a pretty impressive game.

Here are some snippets...

Quote from Wiki :
Gameplay

Dead Island will feature open world gameplay, played from a first person perspective, with up to four-player co-operative play. The focus will be on melee combat, incorporating customizable weaponry and RPG elements.

There is an experience system and a skill tree system. There is also a stamina bar, meaning that after a set amount of action with a weapon, the character will need to stop to regain their stamina before continuing to attack. It has also been confirmed that there are "special class" zombies, which are more powerful than the standard enemies.

Quote from Wiki :
Development

Dead Island will be published by Deep Silver.

The zombies have fully-modelled layers of meat and muscle rendered onto their bodies, meaning they have a multi-layered damage system with real-time injuries.

...and the full Wiki link here.

Official "Dead Island" website.

Snippets from the Official website.

Quote from Dead Island Website :
Features:

- first-person melee combat

- 4 player co-op

- weapon customization

- set on an open world tropical island

- RPG elements for character development

- hordes of gruesome zombies

Feel free to update this thread with any information you guys may have.

Some funny pictures there. Not quite sure what is funny about the titties though?....Although I must say, they are a cracking pair. Lovely.

Quote from Klutch :Is doing that during the day a wise decision?

You wouldn't be able to see headlights from other cars in the distance and wouldn't there be more traffic?

I didn't look at the Google Maps Image too much, but most of the roads he has marked in that link are wide A/B roads with low hedges and separate lanes. In the UK, you would have nothing to worry about.

However, if you have spotted typical ultra rural roads (Extremely narrow and high hedges) in that link, then yes it would be silly for him to career around them at silly speeds. I doubt that he is that stupid though.

Quote from [RCG]Boosted :is that in tdu2 there as well?

There are two races, where you are required to do a lap of the Island. There is one in Ibiza (Around 70 miles I believe.) and one in Hawaii (Around 120 miles.). The Ibiza one took me around 48 minutes, and the Hawaii one took me around 43 minutes. They are both very easy.

Quote from Mustafur :Its a requirment not to do those pos challenges as it completely ruins the look of your garage and you need to buy an extra house just for them it screws your game up, once you get to hawaii they stop calling you though.

No they don't. I have completed the game, and I had to do three more duels.

I can spend hours driving about or messing with stickers

That's all the game should be about imo. Having fun with the other aspects. It's not all about super realistic physics.

Do not get me wrong, I am fully aware this game has issues and I am under no illusion that it is perfect, but I think it is a very big improvement over TDU1, and I will never stop playing it, especially when the issues get patched (Which Atari are fixing and are talking to players to find the specific issues. Check the Forums.).

Am I the only one enjoying this game?

I personally think this game is a huge improvement over TDU1. How on earth can you guys say the graphics look exactly the same as TDU1? Are you running it on a bad computer? Are you Blind? Sure, the game does have some graphic similarities to TDU1, but overall it's a much nicer looking game. For a start, the interiors textures are not blurry and low-res anymore (At least not on the cars I have driven!). Driving along a twisty mountain road in an Alfa Romeo at night is awesome.

It's the same things with the Physics. I had a play with the settings, and after I done that, I found them much better. I can drift (And yes, they are hard to catch, but it is possible.), I can light up the rear tyres of my Mustang with ease and pour smoke everywhere. I get lift off oversteer in my Alfa Romeo Mito. My Lotus Espirit is twitchy as hell in corners, constantly transitioning between understeer and oversteer (All common characteristics of an old mid engine sports car, some would say?). Gravity is much better, as the cars are much less prone to launch into the air with the slightest of humps. These are all things that TDU1 did not have. Sure, the Physics are not the best, but what do you expect from a game that is made for people of all ages to play?

The Storyline. It can be a little tedious at first (The licenses REALLY ANNOY ME!) but once you get past the intro, it's quite fun. It gives you something to aim for. Another great thing is the quests, like finding the junk cars! I'm really enjoying trying to find them all. I already found the Buggy and VW beetle, and I'm currently looking for the 4 others in Hawaii. The great thing about finding these junk cars, is that some of the routes you have to take to find them are really epic. There is one road in Hawaii that is all mountain/dirt roads, and stretches from one end of the island to the other. I done the whole road in a Subaru Impreza STi with one of my buddies, and it was epic! One of the highlights was my friend doing a long drift in front of my car, only for someone in a Audi Q7 to come round the corner and plow into him, sending him flying down the mountain. By the time I spun my car around to see him, he was still barrel rolling down the mountain, and continued doing so for a little longer until he got wedged into a Tree. It was hilarious.

Another thing I love about this game, is the improved social aspects. The servers are playing up a little at the moment (Atari are currently fixing them.) but when they were working, they are great fun. I spent a few hours inviting friends to my recently bought Mansion (You can now decorate your Houses on TDU2, as well as adding custom pictures and paintings.) and they were free to roam around it and look in my Garage. We then decided to take a cruise down to the Casino 35 miles away. I put some music on, one of my Friends hopped in the passenger seat, and we were off. When we got to the Casino, we did some Poker, Slot Machines, bought some clothes etc. It really has improved in Social terms, and you can do a lot more with your friends now.

There are some things I dislike about the game though. Despite the graphics being better then TDU1, there are two issues that really bug me. Occasionally, you will see Trees on the horizon appear out of nowhere as you get closer to them. Also, mountains will sometimes lose there texture quality for a few seconds, then go back to high resolution. This has only happened to me once though. Apart from that, the game suffers from the typical TDU glitches. Some cars have incorrect gauges (The Buggys Rev counter goes 1-2-3-4-6-5-6-7 ) and others will also read the incorrect speed/RPM. This doesn't really bother me too much as I am concentrating on the road, but it can be annoying. Not being able to get rid of competitors cars (I now have a horrific pink mustang in my garage full of exotica. It looks great...:really and the on/off pedals are annoying too, but I'm hoping these will be patched later on.

So hate all you want, but I absolutely love this game and I am well and truly addicted. If it wasn't for my TV deciding to spontaneously combust earlier Today, I would still be playing it.

OK I admit, I was being a little optimistic with how far one drop can spread, but all it takes is a little dribble for it to spread far. If you don't believe me Jamie, get some oil and splash a few drops onto your pavement, then see what it looks like after it has rained. Let's face it, a car with a ripped open sump would still be leaking out loads of oil even after dumping most of it.

BTW, I'm pretty sure a drop of diesel would do it. That stuff is nasty in the rain!

I'm surprised your Friend had the utter stupidity to drive a car around with a ripped open sump dropping oil all over the road. Does he realize that even one drop of oil spreads surprisingly far when it rains, and that one drop of oil is all it takes for a cyclist/motorcyclist to come off?

BTW, I also think your story is bollocks. It is true that oil leaves behind a layer of lubrication, but it would soon wear off from the heat of an Engine (Hence the need for a constant oil supply, which is something a ripped open sump would not be able to do.). I would barely believe it ran for 3 hours, let alone 3 months.

Where abouts is the package, where does it needs to be delivered, and how large is it? If it would fit in my Car, I could pick it up for you if it's not too far away. Failing that, I will get a few quotes for you. I work in the Automotive Trade, so I have a lot of courier contacts.

Quote from BlueFlame :That Mk1 Escort gave me a nice feeling in my pants.

I had the pleasure of seeing it up close at Ford Fair a couple of years a go. It really is a beauty, and it has been fully restored. He even had mirrors so you could see underneath the car, and everything was painted. Lovely.

If I remember rightly, it's running a Cosworth YB Engine doing crazy power.

I also do the hand on gearstick thing, but I only seem to do it in my Auto car? If I'm driving the Accord which is a Manual, I always have both hands on the wheel. Odd...

What other minor bad habits do you guys do? I have a few.

1. On Motorways, I sometimes notice that I am holding the wheel with my fingertips. I then snap myself out of it and go back to "10 and 2", but then my hands soon go into cruise mode again. It's a really bad habit!

2. Whenever I am driving the Accord and I'm on the Motorway doing normal Motorway speeds etc, I will sometimes double check the car is in 5th by dipping the clutch, going into Neutral then back to 5th. I don't do this all the time, but it's just odd how I do it even though I know the car is in 5th. Also, for some reason, I never do this in any other Manual car I drive, and I drive a lot due to my line of work. I only do it when in the Accord.

I came across a number of people selling "Promo Copies" on eBay today. It even says "Not For Resale" on the cover. Isn't it illegal for people to be selling Promo Copies?

Stopped by police - Yes, a lot. I'm on a Traders Insurance Policy, which means that I show up as uninsured on the National Insurance Database. Also, due to my line of work, I drive a lot of cars with "Trade Plates", which can also attract the attention of Police. Apart from that, I have never been pulled over due to a fault with my Driving/Car.

Use mobile while driving - Never. If the phone rings again after I ignore it, I know it's important so I pull over and answer it. Same goes for texting.

Ran a red light in the past 12 months - Yes, once. I tried my luck with an amber light and accelerated. It went red two seconds before I passed it. Was rather stupid of me to be honest.

Take risks (overtaking, fast acceleration) - If I am on my own in the car and there isn't much traffic, I will sometimes have fun with the car, but nothing too dangerous. If I do feel like having fun, I only do it in suitable places, i.e country roads.

Suffer road rage - Never to the point of violence, but I do sometimes get annoyed with people that lack confidence, like people who take ages getting out of a clear junction because they are scared. It's usually nothing more than a "for gods sake" under my breath though.

Speeding - Unless I'm having a hoon, I will stick to the limit. As above though, I only drive within my limits and according to the environment. I'm always doing at least 80mph on the Dual Carriageway/Motorway though, as I feel more comfortable at that speed.

Scare others while driving - I'm always buying cars that need work. I then repair them, and sell them for a profit. I do this for a bit of cash on the side. This means that occasionally, I will end up buying a fast car. I always tend to take my Girlfriend/Friends out for a quick blast to try and shock them, but they are getting used to it now . Under normal driving circumstances though, no. Any passengers I have ever driven with usually seem quite content with my Driving.

Number of prangs (i.e. Collisions/crashes) in the past 12 months - One. I was traveling down a NSL rural road at 40-ish mph, when some guy comes flying around the corner at a stupid speed. I had no choice but to swerve onto and up a verge to avoid a head on collision. My car suffered a buckled alloy wheel, bent wishbone and a smashed mirror case. The other guy did not stop.

Sim/non-sim racer before getting a driving licence - Became a proper sim racer when I was about 13, and passed my test at 17.

I've been driving for just under 2 years now. I had 3 lessons until my Instructor put me in for my test, and I passed with 2 minors (One for observation and one for hesitance at a Roundabout.). I also took my Pass Plus course, which I passed with an "exceeded" grade on everything apart from Night Driving, which we did not cover due to time constraints.

Despite my "Driving Career" grades being pretty good, I do not by any means think of myself as an above average driver. Instead, I think of myself as just a Driver who does not take stupid risks. I'm always alert and scanning the road for potential "threats", and I think that is why I have not had any Accidents, despite owning some extremely powerful cars that most would consider a dangerous for a 17/18 year old to be driving. Never the less, I do not think I am a driving god nor invincible. Anything can happen out on those roads, and sometimes you cannot stop accidents happening, no matter how much skill/experience you may have under your belt.

Drive Safe everyone!

I would rather buy this from a shop instead of pre-ordering, but I want to know whether I can still get the Casino or not. From what I have read, I should still be able to use the Casino, but I will have to buy it from the Marketplace for MS points, instead of it being included in my pre-order. Is this correct?

Get whichever one you have most friends on. BTW, the Xbox 360 version does not get the Ferrari 458 Italia but the PS3 version does. Because of that, the 360 gains a Spyker while the PS3 loses a Spyker.

Weird...

So, when exactly is the release for this game in the UK? One guy says the 8th, while another is saying the 11th? Confused.

EDIT: I also heard that you only get the Casino if you have pre-ordered? Surely Atari are not that stupid?
