No, there not by any means a bad car. Maybe it just came out wrong.
It's just whenever I drive a VAG car, I feel nothing. For me, there just "meh" cars. The only ones that I have driven and LOVED, have been cars like the old Audi RS2, Golf R32 etc. But as for there normal day to day cars like Passats and what not, they do nothing for me.
In all fairness to Dawes, 0-60 times posted by Manufacturers and/or Journalists usually mean nothing in the real world.
I've driven a few Golfs/Boras (Essentially a Jetta) with the 150hp 1.8T though, and they are pretty dreadful. They do respond well to a remap though, although I think you cannot go as far with them compared to the 180hp version as that one uses a larger turbo/larger fuel injectors afaik?
A 2.4L Engine, and it only puts out 170hp, not to mention the fact it doesn't even do 0-60mph in under 7 Seconds. Oh yeah....That's a REAL performance car there.
Oh! I see. Makes sense I suppose. I usually just say "gave a thrashing".
You weird Stoke person you....
@ Daj. Ah. Well it would be nice if we could do that, but I have no idea to be honest. I'm still eager to rent this out though. As soon as it's available, I'll be straight round my Brothers house and stealing his PS3.
I must be missing something here, but what do you mean by "flogged"? I thought you meant to sell the car at first, but then wondered why an Automatic Gearbox would affect this, and why selling an SLS would make someone happy.
So what do you mean by "flogging"? You damn kids are making up words for everything now...
I don't have the game (Or a PS3 for that matter) so forgive me if I am wrong, but I thought that the game put up a preset route and we as users could only adjust things like enviroment, road width, corner sharpness, time of day etc. etc.
I didn't think it would be as complex as making a whole track from scratch?
Profit. They are a business. Just like every other business out there, there only real aim is to make monies.
Take a look at Ford for example. The Cosworth YB was a fantastic engine, which helped Ford beat manufacturers like BMW, VW and Audi in many motor sport Championships around the world. It was reliable, cheap to mass produce (Eventually, when introduced into the 3dr Cosworth) and was very tunable. This Engine was eventually killed off due to new rules and regulations regarding emissions and other factors.
In the past 10 years, the same thing has happened to the Duratec I-5 (Albeit a Volvo 5-pot) and the Duratec 25/30 (2.5 and 3.0 V6). They were both fantastic engines offering great performance and MPG, yet the EU still thought they were too polluting and killed them off too.
Unfortunately, the EU rules and regulations are getting stricter and stricter, which is why cars are slowly but surely, getting boring. The new Focus RS for example. Ford could of easily fitted Volvos Haldex AWD system into the car. It fitted the dimensions of the Focus perfectly and the AWD system itself is actually a very rewarding drivetrain. Engineers said they did not fit this system due to it making the car feel poor to drive and un-entertaining, where as the test drivers said otherwise. Ford actually decided not to add the Haldex system due to EU rules and regulations, which would could of potentially seen the car fail to exist.
So Luke, your answer is profit.....and the stupid ****ing EU.
P.S, and just to add, the new Focus RS has to be fitted with a 2.0 I-4 Turbo from now on, coupled to an Electric Motor. That's another knife in the Focus RS' back.
Doubtful. Micras are very reliable cars, and cost pennys to run. Even if the Auto Box was to fail, it would not cost a lot to either fit a replacement or rebuild, as they are incredibly basic.
IMO, providing the chassis is pretty rust free and you think the car is good enough for a year or so of driving, then buy it.
I had a read of the graphics tech write up that Dan posted a couple of hours ago. On one section, they post in-game captures of the spray/smoke problem. It really does look absolutely disgusting doesn't it? I'm very surprised that PD did not fix that issue before releasing it.
Yes, just from looking at the picture, I can tell how hard it must be not to notice it! I'm still itching to have a go of GT5 when it comes out for Rental, but my enthusiasm is pretty low after seeing all the problems this game has.
Could someone please take some photos of a Blue Honda Accord Euro-R 00'? I loved this car in GT4, so would love to see how it looks in GT5, even though it's a standard model.
But any news that comes in is going to be sparse at the moment, due to the fact that the 2010 season has just this minute finished. In other words, this thread will most likely be pretty empty until the couple of weeks running up to the start of the season, next year.
I think Tristan is right. This thread has been started stupidly early just to beat everyone else to it.
Some fun can be had if you find a Kid online who cannot take losing.
I had a fun time with Beefyman666 from here once. We were both playing GTA4, and I was flying the Chopper with Beefy riding shotgun. I'm quite a dab hand at shooting with the Choppers (If I say so myself!), so I kept on stalking this Kid shooting him and blowing him up. Me and Beefy found it hilarious, because this Kid would scream stupidly loud, shouting "OMG NO! NO HERE HE COMES! GUYS GET IN THE CAR! RUN GO GO!"
If that was my Ferrari engine, I would knot be happy. In fact, I may even lose control and bark in anger at someone. At least I could make some cash back from Ferrari's piston rings.
