just watched the replay of the qualify session.
the ferraris are really struggling to get the rear wheel to grip at T10 the hairpin.
but McLaren looks like they are glued to the track at that corner (well dunno about Kov. but at least hamilton was)

Quote from Tweaker :Not talking slick tires here, road tires. Even in cold weather and cold tires, you can still grip the road just fine. Which is why LFS confuses me to hell when cold tires during an average day can be so slippery?

you dont really go round corners at like 80kph IRL do you?

Quote from Zen321 :Have you ever raced on slick tires-fitted go-kart when they're cold ?
I did some, and I can assure you that they are as slippy as prewarmed tires in a laggy first corner...
I remember a race in an indoor track, where about 50% of the grid (including me) spun during first lap.

yeah same here i went to a outdoor karting track in winter like a year ago. the temperature was like 10 degrees. the tires were like freezing.
i was too aggressive and spun the car at T1 as well.

Quote from Intrepid :Sorry that ISN'T actual FACT. The FIA classified Hamilton 2nd and Alonso 3rd due to the fact Hamilton had a better number of 4th places or something.

If Hamilton was on top of the table in the same points situation he would be classified WDC...

Just like football where you have goal difference being the deciding factor if points are equal.

the ACTUAL FACT is HAMILTON PLACED HIGHER THAN ALONSO IN THE TABLE.... it isn't

1. Kimi
2. Lewis
- ALonso
4 Massa

it's

1. Kimi
2. Lewis
3. Alonso
4 Massa

http://www.formula1.com/results/driver/2007/

not being a lewis fanboyijust clarifying the stone COLD FACT set in the RULES BY THE FIA!

dude you need to get over it.
i totally agree with the fact that all this Hamilton-bashing is silly because he has no control over what the media writes about him.
Hamilton is a great driver. without doubt. second in WDC in his first year definitely means something. he MIGHT be better than Alonso (im no Alonso fan. Button FTW:tilt. but is he really THAT great? who knows. he has never been in a s**t car. put him in a RA107 and you will see what he really got.

Quote from thisnameistaken :Still, it was exciting to watch, so again, it sort of validates my point. But it was only exciting to watch because he was apparently driving turn 8 badly enough to have to switch strategies to keep his tyres in one piece.

oh well i wouldnt call it bad driving i would just say his driving style is too aggressive for T8.

Quote from Dajmin :The climate has changed repeatedly over the last 300 million years. Humans must have some impact on that, but whether it's the major cause or merely helping it along is still up in the air. There's no way that all of the pollution caused by factories and cars can have zero impact, but at the same time the speed of this temperature increase doesn't seem to be all that much ahead of the norm for the cycle.

yes Global Warming seems to be a normal nature cycle of nature.
but it has never reaches such a critical level.

IMO global warming is reversible.
but we have to act fast.
researchs showed that there are a huge amount of methane trapped in polar ice. the same mighty methane that ended our last ice age.
once global warming starts to melt those ice and release the methane into our atmosphere, the game is over. i personally think that we only have a few decades to fix this. and at the end of it the nature is gonna survive for sure. they got a solution for everything. but can us? i highly doubt it.

i think this is not an economic issue, technology issue, but more a political issue and attitude issue. with the current technology we can easily cut carbon emission. but all these stupid politicians keep saying "ohhh this is gonna damage our economy so f**k off"
oh well. if there is no Earth, there is no human being, there is no economy.

and indeed i hope oil runs out asap.
so corporations and governments will be forced to use alternate energy resources.
and i think biofuel is absolutely ridiculous.
there are people in africa are starved to death.
Hydrogen is the way to go.
its probably the most abundant energy source we have other than the sun.

Quote from BigPeBe :Nah being green, something what I'm not never gonna try out, at least when it comes to cars. I have started to feel angry when I read headlines like "going green". It is just that nowadays you can't be in this world without getting your eyes to some hippie talk. Almost every single newspaper haves some article about being green and how we are the cause of climate change with our CO2 pollution.
I'm pretty sure that CO2 isn't even the fooking reason for earth getting warmer, there's no real evidence, politicians just use this pseudo-science to get more votes and taxes.

Earth is not even warm yet, judging by how it has been even before human started polluting.

I understand that we pollute yes, but did you know that ~70% of CO2 is caused by nature?

no offense but do you have any idea of what you are talking about?

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=axrr-jYIuus

I love them.

i love the first one. they actually did like 300+ trials before getting it right.

Quote from beefyman666 :http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=XiBX8MkFkd4

That one has to be my favourite. The bloke singing kills it but the main jist of the ad is cool.

yep thats my favourite ad.
but the actor in the ad is not actually singing.
the singer of that song is actually Andy Williams.

ohh speaking of the song, reminds me of this:
