Why would you say stuff you don't know anything about? You obviously have never played with me so stop talking out of your ass FYI, I seldom get killed by snipers but I dislike them nonetheless
His problem is he seems to judge nKp (or any other sim for that matter) by its hosting options and capabilities and not by its physics, driving feel and whatnot like most simracers will do. He hardly even seems interested in the actual driving aspect In that regard I can sort of see where he's coming from, as the hosting side of nKp could use some more work. That said, he's still a ****ing retard for bringing up Moose's last played date as an argument, that just doesn't make any sense at all. What a tool...
I've only ever played a few times on a HC server. But just because a server is displayed as HC doesn't mean it's got all the HC options on. If any of these settings exist a server will display as Hardcore.
So a server might just have the 3rd person camera for vehicles disabled and it will display as a HC server but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll die any quicker or whatever
I usually tend to filter out HC servers for the simple reason that I just want to have some casual fun. I haven't touched a shooter in 6 or 7 years for reasons I will not be going into right now, so I'm not at all interested in these supposedly more realistic settings.
And if anyone knows of a "no snipers" server then let me know, I'm there They can just remove the Recon class from the game altogether, I wouldn't mind
You seem to be mistaking serious simracers with gamers. They are two completely and utterly different types of people. Hell, just look at how long some of the people here have been playing LFS! nKp especially is aimed at people who want a serious racesim with as little arcade features as possible. And those kind of people aren't into simracing "to do just a few laps", they are in it for the long run. Those types of people also aren't very interested in pickup racing with kiddies, they want decent organized racing leagues, and there's plenty of those.
Like Moose said a couple posts back, it has been doing fine for over 4 years and continues to grow. It's not like it's a new sim on the market, it's been around a while. And the reason it's still around is because, quite simply, it's probably the best and most accurate racesim on the market today as far as single seaters are concerned.
EDIT: and no, I'm not an nKp fan myself, but I don't have my head stuck up my own ass, either; I can tell when something is good.
The English version has been out since April 16th and it's horrible. It's been raining complaints on their forum ever since. Absolutely NOT worth buying.
As to the UK Trucking sim, not worth buying either. Like Bose said, if you've played any previous SCS game, you have played this one. They release a "new" trucking game every year but they're all pretty much the same. Appalling sounds, horrible physics, boring roads, dull scenery, retarded AI, ....
I'm still waiting for the first decent trucking sim to come out.
