Oh yeah, ASoIaF (it's Ice and Fire, btw, not the other way around ) is absolutely brilliant. Definitely one of the greatest fantasy sagas of all time. There's going to be a TV series of A Games of Thrones. HBO are gonna do it so it should be good. It's all still in an early stage, though. It might not even make it past the pilot episode
Are you talking about the default rF game then? I don't have that so I wouldn't know, and I also don't have an opinion on that, but I've heard it said a lot of times that the default content is... well... rubbish
You're right in that rF is nowhere near as user friendly as LFS, though. There's no denying that. It seems it takes a bit of persistance to set everything up correctly. Some people get everything right on the first try and for others it just won't work, which is a damn shame.
EDIT: also, this is actually the more "general" thread for rF so you might want to post your questions/comments in there next time. This thread has a specific purpose that is not about rF in general
Jesus Christ, not the "VW deal" thing again. When will people finally let that go?
The deal with VW was: get the scirocco ready for the 2008 Gaming Convention in Leipzig. THAT'S IT! That was the ONLY condition! The devs do NOT answer to VW, VW is NOT holding the release back, VW does NOT want to use LFS as some sort of marketing tool (come on, seriously? do you actually believe that??) none of that stuff! If the devs for some reason decided not to release the Scirocco at all, they could do so without any problem whatsoever from VW. VW has NOTHING to do with LFS! Jesus people...
One of the devs should really confirm this so people will stop bringing that pathetic theory up again and again.
The proper wheel setup depends on the mod(s) you play. Usually - if the mod is decent - there will be a manual included with the recommended settings and such.
Personally I only have the HistorX mod installed, it was the sole reason I got rFactor. It's a superb mod if you've got a G25. It comes with the RealFeel plugin included and an extensive manual. Everything in this mod has had a lot of work put into it and it shows. Only pity is that there is virtually no online racing to be found for this mod unless you join a league of some sort, and even they are scarce. Race2Play should really create a series for this awesome mod.
There are other mods that are definitely worth trying, and they've been mentioned on this forum a number of times but I can't be arsed to look for them. I'm sure other people will post them here. I think the Caterham mod was one, and Niels' Corvette mod.
Seeing as I only have one mod installed I'm not too familiar with this. The best way to go about this, though, is to use a seperate rF installation for each mod. You can use rF Lite for this, it's only about a 100 MB.
Installation of mods is pretty self explanatory, and they all come with at least a readme file that contains instructions.
Keep in mind that there is a ridiculous amount of content available for rF but only a handful is really worth trying. The same goes for the tracks. For a list of high quality tracks you can check this thread (only the first post) on the Dead Men Racing forum. They were handpicked and chosen for their quality.
I didn't mean to offend any moped riders It's just the truth. It would be like saying "haha, look at those cyclists trying to keep up with my motorcycle" It isn't a fair comparison as they have absolutely no chance at beating you - and probably aren't trying to, either, even if it seems that way.
Also, 32mph is the max speed mopeds are allowed to go over here. A lof of kids do derestrict them, though. At least they did back when I rode one.
That's not something you do very easily in a couple of minutes, though. At least it never seemed to be easy to me. I had it done to my Gilera Stalker back in the day, and it did 90kph (ie. about 60mph?) with everything else stock. I'm sure if I'd had my Leovince exhaust mounted at the time it would have gone a lot faster.
I may be wrong here, but I seem to recall you talking about derestricting your Kwak when you weren't supposed to. I can't be arsed to look up the posts, though :-p
You will leave mopeds behind on pretty much any proper motorcycle (ie. over 50cc) Who cares about moped riders when you're riding a motorcycle anyway? They're in a completely different class, they don't matter
There's hardly anyone using the LX4 / LX6, usually on account of them being too hard to master, so I doubt the LX8 is going to improve on that.
This is classic, really. On the forum there's always heaps of people saying how great the LX's - or the LRF cars in general - are and how unfortunate it is that no one's racing them online. But then when you look at the server list... no one is, indeed, racing them online Same with the TBO's.
As for the LX8... meh, the LX6 is plenty enough for me, but that's just personal opinion, of course
Yeah, we get that, but you keep saying that the problem only occurs after you kept the throttle fully pressed for a certain amount of time or pulled out of the pitlane in 6th gear (which should burn your clutch, I think). So... how does the pedal function before the problem occurs? Does it work properly?
Also, maybe it would help if you posted a replay in which the problem occurs so we can see what exactly it is you do to make the problem occur and whatnot.
I don't remember them all exactly and I don't feel like watching the video again, but "Stay the **** down!" and "Stay ****ing down!" I don't think I've ever heard him say. I could be wrong, though. I suppose if he only says it during one specific mission it's reasonable to believe that I just don't remember it
And have you calibrated the shifter (ie. set each gear) in the options menu? Assuming you have your LFS set to Dutch you should go to "Opties" -> "Besturing" -> then go to "Schakelaar" and set each gear.
Pretty amusing. What I find odd, though, is that I've never heard a lot of the lines Niko uses in that vid. I would think they'd be the same over all platforms Unless they weren't actually taken from the game but just some guy impersonating Niko?
There should be a manual with your new modem. I suggest reading it
As for connecting your Xbox through the wireless, you will need a wireless adapter for the Xbox.
EDIT: your computer will also need to be fitted with some sort of wireless receiver in order to connect to the wireless modem (could be that that came with the new modem, check it). However, I think that you can just as well connect it with a wire if you wish and just not use the wireless option.
