My first thought was "That's obviously Linkin Park". I realized it wasn't after a short while but the beginning really reminded me of Linkin Park. Just goes to show how similar all those bands sound
I've tried googling part of the lyrics as that usually gives you what you're looking for but I can't really hear or understand much of what they're yelling.
No idea but does anyone think that headshot through the wall with the AWP at 1:25 is fishy? I know you get that kind of stuff all the time with CS but that seemed a bit weird to me Ahhh, can't remember how long it's been since I played CS. I didn't know people still played the original!
EDIT: after watching that shot over and over again I'm inclined to say I'm almost positive that guy was cheating. Which is exactly the reason I stopped playing CS.
I'm not speaking out of experience on this one as I've never tried the rFactor demo, but I've only heard bad things about it. The default content is rubbish, supposedly. You're better off downloading rFactor Lite (100mb) and installing some quality mods for it. I also don't know how the FFB feels with the default rF demo, but I don't think it's very good if you're used to LFS.
What I did was download rF Lite and the HistorX mod. That comes with the RealFeel plugin, which hardly requires any setting up. Just some basic things that are explained in the pretty extensive manual - like what to set the general forces at in the profiler etc - and then you can add or decrease force within the game with keyboard hotkeys, much like you do in LFS.
EDIT: just realized, the HistorX mod doesn't work with the rF demo, supposedly, so you'd need to buy it in order to enjoy this superb mod That's a damn shame.
Funny because I feel the opposite way. After racing the HistorX mod LFS just feels so stale to me I can't stand it (haven't touched it in weeks, as a result). Racing those historic racing cars close with other drivers really gives me a kick in a way I have never experienced in LFS. The car feels so alive and very connected to the road, unlike LFS.
You really do need a 900° steering wheel and preferably a clutch pedal, though. It really really does make a world of difference.
Downside to this mod is the downside to rFactor in general, ie. it's difficult to find online racing. Almost no servers with people on them, and then there's hundreds of different tracks that you can download so you have to see you have the right track if you want to join a server etc etc...
What bothers me about the cockpitview is that the in-game steering wheel only turns like 40° or so, no matter what the actual steering input is. I'll probably be buying this when it comes out. Last game I bought was GTA 4 when it came out more than a year ago now, so I think I'm entitled to a new game come October
No matter what anyone comes up with, there will always be people putting it down. Always.
I can't really see myself playing a racing game without actually holding a steering wheel - or another type of controller - in my hand. But it could be cool for other types of games, and as an entertainment and multimedia system it would be great. Just kick back in your couch and tell the tv what to play.
I remember you from my time on CTRA R1 and I don't remember ever having problems with you. You were always a good driver who I could race closely with having to worry if you were going to punt me off or something. Maybe your behaviour has changed recently? Maybe you just need a break from LFS
Yeah, I specifically asked to check the valves as it wasn't planned but I'm not sure if they've done it There really is no way to check, is there? The biggest cost were the two tyres and the hours of work. They also fitted new brake pads, spark plugs, air and oil filter, a muffler connector and replaced the brake fluid and engine oil. Most of that stuff I suppose I could do myself (I changed the brake fluids and engine oil not too long ago) but the thing is at the moment I really don't have any place to do that kind of stuff, nor the needed tools to do it properly. If I'm going to do it myself I want to be able to do it properly in a proper workspace with all the necessary tools at my disposal. I do plan to do most things myself in the future, but I'm not gonna fiddle with the valve clearances; too risky IMO.
Haha, this may be the very first time that the phrase "It'll be ready when it's ready" was used in relation to LFS
In the post of Karsten Borchers where he quotes (one of) the LFS devs.
EDIT: I also think it's interesting to see those reactions and compare them to the reactions we get here today. Back then I'm sure LFS was in a league all on its own, a real pioneer so to say, hence all those raving reactions. These days, though, there's a number of other sims out there that are quite matched to, or even ahead of LFS in certain aspects, and people expect a lot more now than they did 6 or 7 years ago. I can't help but smile when I see statements in that thread such as
If it was a voteban - ie. other players voted to ban you - then it lasts 12 hours. You can just join another server. If you get banned from several servers then you're doing something wrong.
Yeah, you hopped in just in time for the race start Had some good fights with you

What's his username? If it says "S2 Licensed" on this forum then he's probably doing something wrong. If not, then something may have gone wrong with the purchase.
