The Google Nexus 5 allegedly has a 4.95" 1080p display.

Doesn't just editing the permissions of the LFS directory tree work?

Of course, I still want a Rift...

As for open source, how well is TORCS getting along?

I'm skeptical that going up to 1080p would provide enough of a difference. Despite being twice as many pixels, it's only 280 more lines. 2560x1600 may be the way.

Did anyone actually expect simulation-class physics in a GTA?

Synchronizing multiple threads at 20 KHz actually takes quite a lot of CPU resources itself.

I've seen people talk about turning off the stereoscopic image, but it may be game dependent. It's not completely pointless as you still get immersed in the scene and head tracking will still work. It probably won't help the GPU out though, as it will still need to render the two views.

Rigs of Rods physics were never designed to be realistic, and it was never intended to be. That they now think they are is sad.

At this point nkPro feels better than Assetto Corsa to me. This may be due to my framerate not being very good in AC though, and of course the cars and tracks are different.

I don't think a baby Cisco ASA firewall would help against a DDOS, to be honest.

Hmm, is it a difference between the regular LFS dedicated server and the new dedicated console version, perhaps?

Hi,

Attached are two versions of a patch (one for the last release and one for hg head) to remove the use of native Windows methods in kernel32.dll for converting to LFS encoding. .Net methods are used instead.

This allows it to run properly under Mono on a non-Windows system.

Aren't runways usually straight? Still, might make a nice arcade game.

Considering the original Elite had 2048 stars (each with a planet), I'd hope there'll be considerably more than 100.

Well, 1.2.5 (which includes the DAV to DAF change) was released yesterday, followed shortly by 1.2.5.1.

Anyone happen to know what happened to ets2-mods.com?

The integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics is capable enough for LFS, at least.

Quote from Bose321 :You must have some kind of spring or damper setting turned on via your wheel software or whatever you use. There really is zero FFB in the game, except for when you drive offroad.

I have those settings turned on for those games that need them turned on. Not everything handles FFB the same way as LFS, but it's still FFB of a sort.

Then that's why you have no FFB. LFS ignores those two settings (it doesn't need them at 0%), but they do affect other games.
