I don't understand how your boot camp was only 8 weeks and then you were shipped out directly after. I thought there were more programs to go through after boot camp, and boot camp for the USMC is 13 weeks long. Some things don't add up to me...
Yesterday the CERN scientists said they had measured a particle moving faster then the speed of light. Speaking of ridiculously fast things and new tech.
Of course it may have been a faulty measurement or something, and will require a lot more research to prove... but if it actually turns out to be true..
1. He could get in a bad accident and be saved by this cage, it's not like he found some random tubes, just bolted them in and declared them a real cage. Roll overs happen on everyday roads too.
2. He intends to track the car eventually.
3. I still don't see why it's not allowed to be for aesthetic purposes.
XCNuse, do you have some pics of the cage, or did I miss them earlier in this thread?
You think a rollcage isn't aesthetic at all? It looks freaking badass. Lowering the suspension is definitely aesthetic, and may have been counter productive to handling at the limit, but I'm too lazy to search back through and see exactly what he did to it.
As for engine mods, why can't he make engine mods, and then drive it like a normal car? It probably feels way nicer when he's driving than the stock mazda 3 engine.
Lots of 4th gen mustangs were available, but I've never liked them. Just not my style.
Well for starters, I live in Detroit, which likely has the highest demand for American cars anywhere in the world. All 3 automakers are within 25 minutes of me, not to mention all the suppliers, etc.. People can price American cars a bit higher here than anywhere else and still have them sell. This little pocket of American car buying doesn't even extend to the far side of Michigan, I notice a sharp difference in the cars on the road while on trips. and I'm guessing you don't care about buying American in Canada. Second, though they are the same car underneath, Saturn Ion Redline is actually worth less... Third, buying from a dealer is worth more because it's certified and detailed and whatnot (Not a deal maker, but it's nice if you can actually find a decent price). I can't speak to what condition your brother's car was in. You lose $100 of the price by converting to Canadian dollars (They are stronger), which really isn't much, so we'll forget that.
But I'm not too surprised he had to drop the price to $6500 in Montreal.
