I think if you were lapped Lowgoods, then obviously you only have to complete 29 laps (one lap behind) so if the leader finishes the race the system is expecting you to be on track, when you're not it automatically makes you DNF.
Think this is an error in the game that rises from a deliberate code that makes all people off track (in the gravel etc) who do not finish DNF too when race is over.
Maybe post it on the Patch thread in the forum so the develops can fix it?
No worries Hydro - your slide wan't big, but I went off the gas a little, but obviously the guy/gal behind had no time to brake.
I blamed you for the second incident, this was wrong after watching the replay, I thought I remembered you slowing right infront of me for a second time, but that was not true.
So I will only file one complaint against you and not two as originally predicted - I will also now not request that you be thrown out of the league, mearly a 50 race ban
(Only joshing Hydro matey - no probs at all, it seems to me most people had trouble including me, lots of different braking points etc, made it tough to follow someone)
So yes it was tft.driver that hit me the second time which span me around, it was a small impact, had no damage but just lost many positions, again I wish it didn't happen, but no point in blaming, maybe I should've been little faster out of corner, but I had high downforce so my accel would always be slower than someone with low downforce!
Anyway I thought it was a damn good race - hope we do BF1 again.
Good racing in pool 5 - apart from Solar at the start who span in front and messed me right up - then round the next corner he slowed again and I had to brake hard and someone hit me from behind spinning me round.
So started 4th, down to 14 or 15th and back up to fininish 5th, not too unpleased with that, although I was 3rd and span myself and got stuck in gravel.
Well done all pool 5ers, and thanks for great commentary from Fireballs!
Congratulations to our SkillDriving Champion FOX 2!
An amazing final lap in the LX4 gives Fox 2 the title, his nearest rival 3 seconds away!!
Well done to all participants, you all drove really well, it was a very tough track and the pressure was very high to deliver a fast time with no penalties.
I must apologize for some of my hosting blunders, but my excuse is that I didn't realize I was hosting until just a couple of hours beforehand, thus I was a little unprepared!
Great commentary by Fireball as always!
Hope you all had fun and liked my layout. If you are interested in another event like this next season and would like me to design again (or prefer FienDi to do it next time), let us know on the forum, you're feedback is always welcome!
Until a few technical bugs are sorted with the official hotlap system, please feel free to email your time (including penalties) and replay file to me [email protected] and I will keep a temporary hotlap chart here.
Here are all the times I have so far

entries below 30 do not qualify!
And dont forget this is only temporary, once the official hotlap system is working make sure you upload to the real one, as this is not official and your time will not be counted . This is just for information in the mean time.
Just been told off and told to make extra sure to WARN YOU that this is not official and you MUST upload your times to the OLFSL site when FienDi has it working. This is JUST so we can see how we are all doing in the time UNTIL he fixes it. THIS IS NOT OFFICIAL and if you don't upload your times to OLFSL you will NOT be eligible for the event.
On Sunday 13th August we will be heading to the Autocross 8 Lane Drag Strip for this special event, on a custom course designed by FienDi and myself.
To qualify you must race your hotlap in the UF1, however only the top 30 fastest times will qualify for the challenge.
The top 30 will be split into two pools:
Pool 1 will be "odds" (1,3,5,7,9 etc)
Pool 2 will be "evens" (2,4,6,8,10 etc)
In heat one each driver in turn will race a single lap in the UF1.
In heat two each driver in turn will race a single lap in the LX4.
Drivers times for both cars will be added together and the top 5 from each pool (total 10 drivers) will go through to the final race in a single pool.
In the final, all drivers will race one lap in the LX4, the fastest being crowned our latest Skilldriving champion!
(Oh yes, to load the layout you need to place the file inside the "layout" folder inside LFS data and then go to single player, instead of hotlap as usual, choose 8 Lane Drag and the course should load itself)
I dunno, I reckon the BF1 race will be good, had a fun race with Tim and FienDi the other day. I won because I didn't pit for fuel, hahahah!
But anyway, the Skill challenge, sorry for the delay on final details, Friday night is the big meeting so expect all the stuff to be posted Friday night or Saturday morning on the OLFSL site
As long as we do not have the files as available for 'normal' download I think we'll be fine. There are thousands of internet radio stations run by normal people from their bedroom, I doubt they pay royalties!
After all it seems the whole point of shoutcasting is for streaming audio, I know it does video too though.
There were two quite damaged cars in that pool Tim, and it was tricky to watch them and decide to let them continue or not.
Luckily they did manage to keep out of everyones way quite well, only a couple of occasions did they seem a bit dangerous, but if they were any worse I would have spectated them both.
It's a tough decision to ends someones race so close to the end, you have to balance between danger and fairness.
I've read the full terms of use for our server hosting and any dodgy files going on there will see our account terminated pretty quickly.
But the jukebox idea is great - I'm not sure if every racer can have a different playlist while they race on our system but could be wrong, but maybe we could have one big playlist from everyones choices?
we have a 1.0 litre micra, but most of the figures look similar enough, pherhaps a bit higher, nothing major.
I didn't think of the emmisions side, I'll have to look into it more but the car must have a better system after it burns the fuel not to create as much emmision, which is good.
On the other hand, if the plug charging idea took off then that could make the demand for elecetrity grow, this could be bad depending on how the electricity is sourced but that argument goes on.
A yes, Solar and Hydro, I didn't realise up to now, but yes that is clever
I can see what you mean about if people didn't buy the hybrids the technology wouldn't evolve, but they're just too expensive for mass market.
If they can produce a proper hybrid city car, then that would be it.
Over here the smaller cars, Micras, Ford Ka's, New BMW MINI, etc are in great numbers, a hybrid of this size and similar price would see the market share rise.
Am interested in the Fuel Econmy of the prius, what was the manafacturer estimate of the MPG usage?
So it looks like you're getting 57 Imperal MPG, obviously this is a biggish car and if it were the petrol only alternative would be much higher.
We have a nissan micra profile 1.0 litre, which from reports online ranges from 45 to 60 MPG, so probably similar in reality.
Of course this is a smaller car (petrol only), and less powerful, but it still goes over 100MPH and as such as a road car is fast enough.
I am just surprised that the hybrid technology isn't that efficient, it seems good when you compare it to it's identical road car class, but there are petrol only cars out there which are more economic and fuel efficient. If everyone had one of these, cheaper cars we would certainly meet the emmisions standars the world is aiming for currently, and would be more likely as these cars are more affordable to a mass range of people.
Hybrid/Eco cars are great, but most people will choose cheaper cars (petrol) over them unless they can balance out the expenses.
However, I do aprove of the efforts of Hybrid cars, but I don't see the need to jump from a petrol only car which is pretty much identical in MPG to a hybrid car. I think hydrogen powered cars are the real answer
Well I tried it, I clicked remove worst events and i dropped down postitions, so what is the point of that then? I must have missed it in the rules, but why on earth is it helpful to anyone to actually lose places, am I seriously missing something.
I just like the idea of a basic system where you get points for racing & no points for not racing, what all this other stuff has to do with it has got me right confused now.
Anyway, good luck to anyone who can explain it all! hehe
I was there in all the team meetings, and dont remember talking about some new weird points system, anyway, if someone can explain the actual problem instead of complaining about it that will help the rest of understand what is wrong in the first place lol
I think there were two disconnections in Pool 2, and just after I crossed the line in Pool 6 I was disconnected, if it was a few seconds later it would have been a DNF for me
I doubt the pools will be changed, the current system 16:00-22:00 GMt has been in place as long as I've known, also everyone in your pool and the host would have to agree to it too, there might be lots in your pool who do not watch f1 even.
Think you'll have to choose between them, it's bad luck, but the non europian GPs are always a bit tougher schedule wise.
