You don't "need" it but it helps. Also the wingman website's version is now much older than the version on the logitech website

ok you want it simplified. It can't be, every car is different. They all have the optimal shift point at different places in the rev range. Your best bet if u really want to see, is get LFS Z, and see the shift RPM the old shift light uses. otherwise it's just a matter of practice. Take the cars to the drag strip, you'll soon learn where the best shiftpoints are by how it effects your times.
Racer is how i originally discovered LFS. If you want some good real world road tracks, get rFactor or GTR Evo and download some addon tracks. Doesn't have traffic, but i'm kinda waiting for TDU2 for that :P
expensive to partially wreck the car like that....i was looking at it thinking why not put a giant air bag or some kinda cushion between the wall + car to decelerate him in that short distance. Looked awesome tho hahaha
Can you even still buy that game, preferably online, trying to find 2nd hand games is way too time consuming..
Bah i'll check the websites of the companies that made/released it. everything i can find about this game says "buggy as hell, awesome when patched + modded"
so it's gotta be worth a couple bucks at least ;D
EDIT: $19.95 USD. wish it was on steam it'd probably be about $4.99 :P
Yeah i do remember having a play with the demo, but the bugs made it all but unusable unfortunately. You're right tho, it did seem like an awesome concept.
Does anyone know of a game where this is possible? I vaguely remember someone saying Motor city online was worth a look (don't know if this would work being as the game is 8 years old) but yeah i have the urge to tinker...
Being able to drive a car with the motor u made would be a must.
I'm not talking about "turbo stage 4" engine build, i'm talking something a bit more...adult.
