Didn't you check system requirments before you bought it?! I'd love to try it out, but my old laptop can't run it either; so it'll have to wait.

Credits? You might have connected to a cruise server where you have to drive to "earn" cash (credit) so you can afford to buy other cars. But those are only in cruise servers, and NOT race servers, as far as I am aware. When you update the hosts list these servers will be marked "cruise".

Certain race servers have put a restriction where you are not allowed to drive certain cars until you've gained a minimum ammount of LFS-experience points (LFSEI - LFS experience index). Not all servers use this restriction methods, and this is a thrid party server-side addition - which is used to filter out newer drivers with little or no LFS-online data.

Is there a thread around here with prominent LFS users? You need to be on that!

Congrats, looking forward to seeing more and more of your stuff on track!

LFS S1 (version H7) locked to demo. You need to buy S1 to be able to drive on S1 servers.

Take a screenshot of the error and show us here so someone will figure out whats wrong and help you out.

No need for a thread for each specific car. The devs will see your post in Cars we wanna see in S3 thread and add it.

The Rockingham and VWS have been done (afaik) for quite some time. You could drive the FOX at Rockingham at track-side Rockingham, UK, since September 2009.

The reason for the delay in releasing both, as those you actually do read Scawen's posts already know, is, I quote,
Quote :Remember it was the Scirocco that showed up the issues in the tyre physics (there were already known tyre physics issues but we couldn't get the Scirocco to drive as safely as a real one does while restricting ourselves to a realistic setup). So, releasing the Scirocco has been out of the question until the tyre physics system is quite close to reality.

Releasing Rockingham has also been out of the question. We want to release a real track when the behaviour of the cars is right (not perfect, just close enough so the bumps feel right and the lap times are just like real ones).

The downside is that for a while they've been expecting that the tyre would be "finished", so that they could release S3. Eric is supposedly working on more S3 content, as opposed to S1/S2 content updates. No one really knows how long it would take Scawen to re-do the tyre physics.

Hopefully that time would be mere months rather than years. And by the sound of thing, the devs are working full time on LFS. So we might be able to expect far more S3 content than announced so far...

If the devs do read these posts, please consider what was suggested here.

Quote from Scawen :For those who were wondering, yes, this is our full time job, LFS sales make enough money to keep us going while we work on the improvements. From a "pure capitalist" point of view there are certainly ways to make money more quickly, but our aim is a little different - to make the best simulator we can in a sustainable way, and we're doing that the only way we know how - to study, experiment and implement, however long it takes. We don't mind if some people become angry, the important thing for us is to get the improvements done and release them.

Quote from WARNING_BIOHAZARDOUS :no..just initial synchronizatin failed at the top left corner

Sorry, I don't know whats wrong.
Howerver, do you have a stable internet connection? What sort of ping do you have to the servers that gives up the error? And out of the servers that you do manage to connect - do you time out or loose connection? I'm just grasping at straws; the error might be due to a completely different issue...

@LittleBandit - As Daniel said you've got to use the original vobs (car shapes), or the connection will be refused (OOS - CAR).

Quote from LittleBandit :I've even tried using my other non modified cars and they won't work either.

You might have to use all default car vobs. Having a modded one (even if you dont drive that) might throw up the error. Not quite sure how it works.

Is there absolutely no chance of bringing it back? Who ran the show? I joined in late - it folded when I was just starting out in the XFG/XRG servers...

Can we help in any way to help to bring it back/run (check replays etc.) if its gonna bring all you folk back?

I think this has always been the case. I've noticed it before, but until few hours ago I was under the impression that it could be turned of by changing the brake help setting (setting it to off).

@1303s_vortech you can try it yourself, it even happens when using kb (no help/stabilised).

Use auto clutch = no. When the car is about to stall (say you are slowing down but not pressing the clutch), automatically throttle is applied (the green bar increases).

Not quite sure why throttle is automatically applied here. So OP's "Why? Can this be turned off?" stands...

Quote from DANIEL-CRO :I wonder why this never happens on race servers

Happened to me a couple of times on Cargame.nl, but not because someone "stole" my driver name, but rather because I have quite a common one - "Silver".

SilverServerMarvel sometimes uses the name "Silver" too, so I get kicked upon connecting (or him, if I'm already connected). I think cargame's Airio is configured to reduce safety rating when that happens; maybe to punish the driver for trying to steal the name (not quite sure if its the case), so nowadays I just use a capital i instead of simple L and no one gets kicked...

Whoops! Indeed - can't be turned off with turning off brake help; sorry about the mis-information!

Does the "no external images" apply to the lfs logo on Lynce's? Unless of course he recreated it himself... Im just nitpicking. His is my favourite.

Do you get a message in red when it happens?

JOOS - MAIN MPSYS
OOS -CAR

Or something like that?

Edit: see below

What are you two on about?

@dontsimon - Options > Driver > Brake help : [no]

The throttle coming in-to prevent stalling is also controlled by the above "brake help" settings.

How about eliminating the problem?

Remove the /restart button-bind and simply have it as a keyboard bind (preferably CTRL+ or ATL+) so that you wont accidently hit it and activate the countdown.

I dont think you can change the countdown. But you can bind a function key with /cv.

i.e. F8 = /cv

So when you mistakenly press the restart and the count down starts, you can quickly hit F8 (or another suitable easily accessible key/button).

Hello, demo licensed racers cannot upload skins by defualt; this is a paid user feature. You get 25 complimentary skin upload slots for buying S1 and another 25 for S2.

However, you can buy 50 skin upload slots for £1. BUT the minimum payment to LFS is £3. So you can add £3 to your account and use £1 to buy 50 slots. The remaning £2 will be in your account and you can add the balance to buy a S1/S2 license. (i.e. add £10 later and buy S1 for a total of £12).

You can buy skin upload slots in LFSWorld's my car skins as TacTicalNoob pointed out. Click on "increase" on that page...

In my opinion, buying S1 or S2 is the best bet rather than buying skin upload slots alone.

Anyway, welcome and hope you have fun!
