It's really just a matter of experience, and believe me driving on the road is NOT like driving on the track or playing a video game 
As multiple people have pointed out before me operating a car is easy but that's not really driving. Driving is going around rather than over/under or through all the other idiots on the road.
One of the most important things is leaving enough space between you and another road user to avoid them if/when they do something terminally stupid. However this is a skill that requires a little practice, since if you drive "cautiously" and appear to be hanging back leaving too large a gap then some clown who does not consider paying attention to other road users a relevent skill will come along and put a car or a white van in it.
That's the balance that comes with time :- leave enough space, but not too much, and enough space is determined by the car you're driving, the speed you're travelling at, how alert you're feeling, and how many other people are around you.
That's why you never actually stop learning to drive, no matter how long you've been doing it for.
Good luck with it, I passed long before theory tests, or parallel parking were considered necessary, [my examiner asked me to identify 3 road signs and tell him the highway code quoted stopping distance from 70 and that was it]. I do remember how hard it was to reverse around a corner the first I tried it, but other than that it was easier and a damn sight cheaper to get a full licence way back in 1988.

It reminds me of an NSU RO80, but I'm not sure about that.
Novel... I think it needs "finishing" i.e more "stuff" thrown at it, but I like what's there so far.
The pattern running around the bottom of the car doesn't seem to wrap very well. I know getting it to fit properly will be a pain in the ass, but it's things like that which serperate the great from the merely good
Without wishing to sound boastful I am part of the G-25 beta test programme, and I have had one since Monday. I have a two year NDA with Logitech which prevents me from writing you an essay,about how goods it is, but what I will say is if you are prepared to spend the money, it's a fantastic product.
Trust me...the G-25 is very much worth its price tag.
I always end up using some sort of pattern effect, which is becoming a technique that perhaps I over-rely one, if you have a look at some of the stuff in my MSz garge on the other end of this link, you might get a few ideas.

There's no clever trickery involved here, what usually happens is that I find an image that I think might look good as a texture layer, over the top of my paintjob, import it into photoshop and alter the opacity or the opacity and the blend mode until I get something I like. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't....
Alternatively you could try a gradient, or striping of a slightly darker shade of the yellow, and see what visual difference that makes.

The Times gave Ronaldo a good kicking on its front page today, whilst using the a couple of the inside pages to suggest that coverage of future footballing tournaments should have more fact/analysis and less jingoistic flag waving/bias. Mind you the articles are written by two different columnists and I've no doubt the Times would say it's not irony it's journalistic balance or some other such waffle.

Anyway, the matter in question is the final, I'm going to go with France by a narrow margin I think. One thing I do know is that it should be one hell of a game and one to really look forward to.

The beginner's server got taken over briefly tonight....by folks wanting a go at it and folks who plainly don't read the forums not having a clue wtf was going on trying to join in driving something sensible....

BTW I was proper impressed with Will's 1.02 which he claimed was with a mouse, I did spec him and it looked like a digital throttle to me so I guess he was telling the truth. I couldn't do better than 1:07 so I clearly need to stfu and go stand in the slow noobs corner.

A better video card than the one in your machine is the most likely answer if you're unable to produce the same results.
I actually thought that the idea of a gaming community meeting which was not for the purpose of playing the game that binds them all together was great and original.
All the other FPS clans I've been involved with have suggested/held meetings and they've all been LAN parties. I wouldn't dismiss an LFS LAN event out of hand, but to be quite honest my first reaction was Oh bore off...let's do something that at least involves visiting "teh outside"
As for when, well I'm pretty much freelancing atm, that might change, and it might not, short answer is I don't have a crystal ball either, if I can make the next one after letting folk down this time I will.

Yeah, go Germany, the world cup final's never quite the same if the host nation isn't in it.
Having said that when it gets as far as the final I'm afraid I'm gonna have to back the French to win it. If their defence and midfield can combine to close down the middle of the pitch in the same way that they did against Brazil, and Zidane, Ribbery and Henri have got a big game left in them, then I can't see a way for the Germans to win even if Ballack and Lehman are on top form.
