<edit> realised I think you're asking about "template" skins with lights/grills painted up to look like specific cars.... No sorry I don't know of any such thing...
Karol... dunno I just ctrl click the layer and tell it to contract the selection then hit delete </edit>
Then visit this link and download the Master Skinnerz 2048 pixel sq templates, PSP will read them, they have seperate [named] layers for the major panels on the car, and a highly detailed wireframe overlay of the car, which lets you see how it all fits together.
Doing the above should show you how to line everything up, and when you've finished, just make the skin file half its size [1024px sq] and it's then the right size to use online/offline in the game.
OMG-zor so this is why I couldn't get on the LFS main site last night... all you llama fanbois were sat thinking F5'ing is the new masturbation. Calm down dear it's only a video game.
Right I'm off to download the next installment of mana from heaven and if after installing it I can't take BL GP turn one at 150mph in my V8 then I WANT MY MONEY BACK... yes devs that's right this game is s****y and I've wasted my money AND IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT.
It's been kicking around unfinished since I made the Carlsberg Fox, which is essentially the same design idea. I finally managed to find a few spare hours to finish it off.
There's a bit of an Indy car feel to this one even though I know that with its high nose the V8 looks closer to an F1 car, but stuff it imho the model doesn't look so close to an F1 that we can't all play pretend
The 1024 suffers a bit in the quality stakes... it took more compression than I would have liked to use to get it under the 400kb limit, so you can have the 2048 too.
I have uploaded this to LFS world, it is public, feel free to change the numbers it's wearing but please don't edit my work any further than that.
Right now I walk/use the bus/push bike 'cos I'm a skint student, but I came across a few pics of the Cossie I used to own. The front end damage was caused when it was in a car park, I was gutted and never did find the clown who did it.
To be perfectly honest, if you can hold of Macromedia Flash, you would be better using it to make a flash movie clip which could then be saved as a .swf file, which typically has a smaller size than the equivalent .gif image.
Actually, thinking about it, if you have all the images as seperate frames and can rar them up and attach them to a post I'll make a .swf file for you...
The blonde asks her husband for help with the jigsaw she's struggling with. Without moving over to her he asks "what's the picture on the front of the box?" "A tiger" she replies. "Go and put the frosties back in the cupboard love" he says.
Sorry mate I'm 6 weeks from the end of a degree and currently trying to mediate a major argument bewteen the other people on my course which has the potential to blow the whole thing apart, manage a crazy workload, hold down a partime job, make sure my girl friend remembers who I am, oh and get out for a beer with my mates from time to time....
Not actually a video, but I can't think of anywhere else to post this link.
It's the webcam that's watching the entrance barriers at the Nordschleiffe.
Sometimes there's something sexy on it sometimes there isn't, take pot luck
I too harbour plenty of stereotypes some positive some negative, but in the context of this forum/community, I'll keep 'em to myself unless I'm given reason to wave them about.
The only reason I ever look to see which flag is under a poster's name is to see whether or not English is likely to be their first language so that I can think about how to phrase my reply to them.
This is usually an understanding, helpful and even friendly place to be... sure there's going to be exceptions, there always is, but let's focus on the posistive and that way ensure we keep this community as it is.
This was taken through the window of a car "supermarket" [offering various marques] on the Unter Den Linden near the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. [Or at least I think that's were it was... I get confused over exactly what was on which street]
Being students we didn't go inside and ask if they were actually selling it....but anyway yes the Veyron is a limited run production car, in the category of "if you have to ask how much then you can't afford it"
"Bugatti originally planned to build 300 Veyrons over five years. In March 2006, Bugatti president Bscher claimed to have 70 firm orders, selling out 14 months of production. In response, the company claims to be speeding up production, with all 70 cars expected to be built in 2006. Bscher also reported that 14 cars have been completed and most will be shipped to the United States. It is not clear how many are in the hands of customers.[1] The cars will be sold directly from the factory to customers or at 20 Bentley dealers worldwide. These include dealerships in Miami, Florida; Troy, Michigan; Beverly Hills, San Diego, Pasadena,California; and Greenwich, Connecticut. Maintenance will be possible at Bentley dealerships, but repair service will require a flown-in mechanic, which the company promises to be available 24 hours a day."
Coupla things, in the pictures the car appears to have number 41 on its nose and number 4 on its tail. For the sake of consistency I put 41 on the tail too.
I couldn't make out what most of the small decals were so they're not on the skin, if you happen to know and can get pics of em then by all means modify the skin to add em... in fact make any changes you want to it.
I painted the cockpit bezel yellow just to add a bit more colour, you can always change it if you don't like it that way...
2048x2048 is for screenshots, don't try using it online
1024x1024 is the one you should upload for online use.
I've made 3 or 4 skins for the fox in the past, and have learnt how that particular jigsaw puzzle fits together, practice makes perfect, no more than that
If you look at the skin file for long enough you'll figure out which bit is which.
If you agree with me that car skins fall into the category of art then you'll also have to agree that judging them is a subjective rather than objective business.
Sure you can say skin (a) is better than skin (b) because the author has done everything "right" [used high quality decals, compensated for skin stretching etc etc] but if skin (c) is also "right" then is not judging which one should win just a matter of which one you happen to like more than the other?
Master Skinnerz contests are a good example, in the last round 4 skins were chosen as "winners" by [judge's] majority vote. All of the judges made 4 choices, but it was the 4 skins that collected the most votes overall that "won". There were comments that the voting had been a little "subjective" and that in fact the 4 "best" skins hadn't been chosen.
I had some sympathy with the comments, since in my opinion the 4 best skins were not chosen, but the whole point of this essay is that all I'm talking about is people's opinions, that's why a racing contest with a licence as a prize is a much better idea than a skinning contest.
You don't win a race with a subjective opinion, either you cross the line first or you are the first loser.
I'm afraid I was cheeky and took a few liberties with your skin Mr Vanirl, I hope you don't mind. I'd suggest you you use it as a base to stick your own ideas over the top of.
Here's a 2048x2048.jpg unfortunately I can't give you a layered file, I flattened it and hit save by mistake
It's only somethin quick and simple, sorry I dont' have more time to give it.
Nice one... the original poster didn't say "I am an American" but with given that it tells you where he comes from under his name he didn't have to.
He then proceeds to make a post basically saying "I wish the rest of the world would stop being ignorant and bashing us for liking the things we do, if you don't like them then it's you who has the problem not us, and don't expect us to change our ways. Then he finishes of by ironically whining about sterotyping
Well a stereotype can only exist if there are more than a few people in the world who fit into it, guess which category I happen to think he falls into....
Just bear in mind that if you want to use the result online then it needs to be 400kb or less or the "my online skins" section of LFS world will use a rather unsophisticated comrpession method on it. It is far better to use your graphics app to control the file size by doing as Tristan suggested since it will make a much better job of it than LFS world
