Max Power's been running pictures of "photochopped" cars for at least two years and their forum even has a "post your virtuals here" section.
Generally speaking the results are unrealistic and bear more relation to the drawings that product designers make than photographs. I have yet to see one that I a)thought was at all tasteful/nice b)convinced me that it was a photo not a digitally manipulated image.
As you may have gathered I'm not a fan of this sort of "art" but then I also hate the clowns who think bolting a load of tupperware to their shopping trolley makes them God's gift to anything other than a Police radar car.
From a technical point of view you've pretty much cracked it, I must admit that design doesn't appeal to my personal taste, but nevertheless it's "better" than your previous attempt
I would suggest you read this link in which Bunta the master skinnerz admin explains how to compensate for the fact that when you make your skin, you make it a 1:1 aspect ratio, but the game displays it at something more like 4:3. This stretching is always most noticable in decals.
I like your design, very "cool" if you'll excuse the pun, sort out the stretching problem and it'll be even better.

It's difficult to be scientific about anything that happened so long ago, particularly when people's belief structures may be at stake. In short I don't have a high opinion of the "theory" full stop.

Our knowledge of evolution is incomplete, we are discovering new fossils all the time, with the passage of much time it is possible we may come to know more, but I doubt we will ever know it all. However since it presents us with real tangible hold it in your hand evidence, whether or not our notions about timelines are correct it is more credible than any of the alternatives.

Skins are only jpgs, the problem is that the shape of some of the car models has changed since the S1 days. If the skin you want to use doesn't fit the shape of the car model as it appears in S2 then the skin won't "look right".
You'll need to edit the skin in order to make it fit properly onto the S2 version of the model. The best way to see what needs doing is to download the cmx viewer from the main site, drop your skin into the viewer S2/data/skins directory, fire up the app and see what changes need to be made. Then presuming you have permission to edit somebody else's skin you get down to it, failing that you make another.
I don't think the carbon is overdone, since what's on the outside is only viewable from the outside and what's on the inside is only viewable from the inside.
I have to admit I'm not fond of matte grey for the base coat, unless you stick some lovely great big vinyls on it in bright colours.
Underglow/neons is something you'll have to do with photoshop, LFS doesn't have them as a feature, [and thank the good Lord it's not about to get them]
Decals wise it depends on whether that's a race car or a tuner car as to whether you pick a coupla sponsor logos or a load of parts stickers, either way as long as you don't go crazy with it you're gonna end up with something pretty sweet.

To be fair the last time this question was asked was in the beginners forum, but it can't have been more than a week ago. At the risk of being rude, do a least a little digging before you ask a fairly basic question please.
I did....the Vodafone logo's there because the red they use is close enough to the red in the Carlsberg crown for me to have got away with it, and maintain the 3 main colours of the skin.
1024 skin is poor quality because the detailing is too fine for the compression, but the it is public, as is the 2048.
From a personal point of view I play videogames "for the crack" and I don't really enjoy organised competition, so I don't tend to join clans/teams when I start playing a new game, although peversely I do like clean, polite organised teamwork especially in fps games
From an LFS perspective, I don't own a wheel, am not in a position to spend money on one atm, and since i am an average of 5-10 seconds slower than the leader on most servers I join, thus I regard stuff like the ESL as out of my league if you'll excuse the pun.
Time is probably the major factor, I graduate from university in 10 weeks time, and have more work than I can deal with. I tend to work for a while then spend 20 mins - half an hour reading various bulletin boards than I suscribe to by way of a break. Certainly until July I would not be in a position to commit to playing a game at a certain time and a certain place, even if it were only for half an hour.
As an aside I would say that being away at a university is a factor, since it presents a high workload and a great many social opportunities.
Also, certainly for those in the University of Derby's halls just connecting could be a major problem. The Halls are served by the uni's backbone connection and just about all the ports are firewalled to prevent p2p activity and possible unpleasant implications for the uni, thus online gaming is largely impossible for a big proportion of the first years, who arguably are the ones who haven't developed solid friendships with their peers and don't have a good knowledge of the social life in the city, so are perhaps more likely to play games online.
I agree....most of those pictures are pretty impossible photgraphically anyway, most of them conform to one of only a few stereotypes and almost all of them have poor/innacurate lighting....
They're nice as eyecandy that is true, but they're invalid as "photo edits"

I made the skin, he made the renders and that logo is so small I guess he overlooked it when he applied his [Bridgestone] sidewall texture to the wheel...although I didn't make the same mistake when I based the texture for the tyre pattern on a Michelin F1 wet
