We realised that limited setups would be a popular option for online hosts. It is a feature that has often been requested. It would allow people to race in road cars that feel like road cars (not stiffened and lowered) and still be competitive. Suspension updates

In order to implement the limited setup system, we needed some good standard setups, the kind that these cars would have in real life. In comparison with most LFS setups currently in use, the new default road car setups are a lot softer. Our testers noticed that with the new setups some cars can be a bit tricky at times, for example when adjusting the accelerator while cornering or when braking into corners. In real life, the suspension geometry is designed to produce an anti-dive effect under braking and anti-squat under acceleration. This has until now been absent from the LFS suspension systems, but now looks like an important development to support the realistic setups.

The problem I have with this is that 99% of road cars are not capable of being raced. The brakes on a ford focus would be unusable after 1 lap of race-speed driving.

In real life, virually no cars that are raced on tracks are unmodified because they are designed for taking the kids to school, not pounding round a circuit for lap after lap, taking racing lines and riding kerbs.

Taking it to an obsurdly logical conclusion, the road cars should only be allowed to do 1-2 laps races or cruises because that is what is 'realistic'.

An alternative is that the roadcars become 'trackday' or beginner race cars with equipment and setups that reflect an entry level track car.

Ok so I managed to modify the displacement, power and drive of the XFG at this point.

You need to modify the Single Car #1 settings AND the CarType #2 settings.

Make the values identical and it should work.

I haven't worked out how to a turbo or change the weight at the moment.

I can't get it to work the z25 either. I don't think it does work with z25. It needs a new cfg file.

There's little or no documentation and people have been typically unhelpful in this thread.

I think we just need to wait for a new cfg file to be released. Having said that, I can't even see how to load the cfg file!

As an owner of one of those cheap parts bin rip-offs, I can tell you from the manual that it is 828degrees lock to lock. I doesn't say what the max steering angle is unfortunately.

When I'm driving it though, I only ever need to take both hands off the wheel in the most extreme hairpin or when parking, you can cross your hands for 99% of corners.

I never understood motion blur.

I have never experienced motion blur in real life, just in cartoons!

If motion blur is due to your eyes, then a fast moving image on a monitor will blur 'naturally'

Stuff in real life doesn't blur when it moves fast so why should stuff on a monitor?

Personally I think the graphics in LFS are almost perfect. People who come to my house and play it are always very impressed with the graphics and they are used to xbox or ps3.

I think the graphics are as realistic as any racing game because of the unlimited draw distance and precisely because there are no dx9 effects like reflections, blurring etc, imo they make the cars in rfactor look very cartoony.

Even tho I run at I run at 1440x900 16xAA 16xAF, I always have >150fps which combined with my 100hz crt gives a fantastic level of immersion.

As I have learnt from my Scirroco posts, it is forbidden to ask any questions about what is being developed so I can only hope they are working on the tyre/kerb physics and track rubbering/marbles and not graphics that I can't see at 200mph

Not everyone spends all day on these forums. I went to the LiveForSpeed homepage only to find it is 6 months out of date.

There is a Scirocco thread that is basically kids having arguments.

So, the point of my last post was to find out what the latest on the Scirocco patch was and to see if tyre/kurb physics are being worked on.

The point of this post is to find out why my original post had been deleted and questioning whether there should be a sticky to explain the policy.

Not that I'm actually looking forward to the Scirocco but hoping tyre/kurb physics will have been improved.

It's almost certainly your graphics card.

Your cpu is ok for a decent framerate (see other similar spec pcs in the list) but that integrated graphics is going to cripple the system. As others have said, reduce the resolution to minimum.

Run this benchmark and post your results for max and min:

I've seen P1 and P2 both be disqualified at Brands Hatch for consistently cutting the track which was just 1 or sometimes 2 wheels on the grass.

Then again in F1, drivers seem to be able to steal as much as they like, even battering bollards down like at Bus Stop at Spa.

It really depends on the track owner and marshalls. If it's your server, you can make the rules

I had the same thing on FeelThere. The admin blatantly rammed me wide on the final corner then in the next race he crashed and I passed him so he banned me...
