I think the demo is fine personally, although i would admit, a faster car would have been nice, but that would stop peopel from buying it. I played the demo for 2 years before investing in S2, althoguh that was mainly because i had no one to race with.
Faster AI would be nice, and thats from me, and i aint that quick. Im nto that bothered to eb honest, i always play online, then all my best laps etc are always logged.
Bucket on one side you for toilet breaks with some bog roll incase you need a one out the back end. Fridge full of drinks and food on the other side to sustain your living.
At that speed of card, 256mb isnt really needed. When you get to the top and cards it makes a difference, but on a £40 card, it should really give you a slight FPS increase, but nothing huge.
Yeah, i paid £220 for my graphics card, and its now worth half that, but if you want the performance, then you pay the price. The new 7800GTX 512mb card is a record high at £500, but give it a month after it has been made mainstream in shops it will probably drop by £50-75. Its just a premium you pay for getting good hardware on release.
As for APG quoted above, ATi have rumoured that they are going to be making an AGP version of the X1800 series, but theres no further information as of yet. AGP isnt totally dead yet, but in a years time it will be.

FZR - Fastest and probably the most rewarding for smooth driving. Hardest to control though and uses the most fuel in races.
XRR - Slightly slower, but a bit easier to drive when at the limit. Uses less fuel so does have some advantages over the FZR in some cases. Where the FZR may have to stop to refuel, the XRR may be able to just go staright to the finish.
FXR - Definately the easiest to drive, not as rewading as the others for smooth driving. Its 4 wheels drive layout means its by far the easiest to control, and the least likely to spin out when at the limit.
You have a 19" monitor, so i presume it will do 1600x1200.
Try putting your resolution on 1600x1200 and your screen at 32bit colour and put your refresh rate as high as you can on that monitor. Try loading the game up with those settings and see if you get the same.
Sounds like the game is trying to run a resoltion/refresh rate your screen isnt capable of to me.
Go into the properties of your LFS.exe file and put "+menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 640 +szy 480" at the end of the target file, remove the quotation marks, and see if that works. If not then delete the code again.
You need to put identical copies in your game and online.
Upload your skin through lfsworld and place and identical copy in your skins folder in your game. If they differ it will not work.
To select your skin go into your garage and under the 'colours' tab you will have a textures button at the bottom of the screen, click it and select your skin to apply it to the car.
Now the skin should work for you on your can and should allow others to download it to see your hard work
Hope that helps.
P.S. All the time on OcUK and i never knew you were a geordie bean0. Learn something new every day.
Try the attatched setup mate, it should get you a bit faster. However, its not just down to speed, its down to the lines you take also to shave off the 100ths of a second.
Put the setup in your LFS S2\data\settings folder.
Its hideous. Do you know anything about the companies you have in your skin, or is it like NFS:U where they just get put on to make your car go faster illepall
Dont jerk the wheel on the more powerful cars, it will only make you lose control. Smoothness is the key.
Smooth and steady is generally faster than locking wheels and throwing the car everywhere.
Main thing, practice, get used to the cars and their capabilities. This takes a while, and im still learning them 2 months down the line, so be patient.
Also bear in mind peoples driving styles differ, so tire wear rates will change from person to person, meaning you may need to pit more often if you need more sets of tires to the other racer, which would nto allow for close racing.
