Quote from jimmyboy313 :Does anyone have any scripts that may work?

I've written a load of scripts which allows me to change between control configurations by using Ctrl+F11/12.

For instance, the XRT has a H-pattern script and a drift script. I leave the garage, press Ctrl+F12 and it loads the drift script which switches to paddles to shift and puts the handbrake on shift up on the sequential, as well as displaying a little message reminding me to change the shift mode, as well as wheel rotation in the Profiler.

It's pretty easy to do, I'm a complete idiot when it comes to scripting and I had no issues, even with sorting out annoying ones like paddles/sequential in both 540 and 720 degress on the XFR.

I'll clean them up and send them over if you want

Try wrapping the speakers in some foil to see if they stop. If they do, get the ol' screwdriver out and get shielding.

As Jakg, a suggested ferrite clip on each end of the cable will help too, as will using shielded cables and a mains noise filter, just in case.

Not sure if it's the same footage, but I remember something about the moon conspiracy thing.

The theorists had doctored a piece of the film to suit their needs.

Might have been something else completely unrelated though.

Simply put, you can connect to a UK computer to trick the iPlayer into thinking you're in the UK, so it'll let you play the programmes

Quote from MadCat360 :Good and evil are notions completely created by humans.

Indeed they are, but it's still relevant.

Supposed all loving God or Gods would still intervene in times of evil, but no such action has ever happened, which means He/They either don't have the power to stop it, or He/They can't be arsed.

There very well maybe a form of higher being out there in the universe though, but are they God? Are they the Creator?

No, they're not. It's just part of a story created to give hope to the peasent masses that they'll go somewhere lovely and happy when they die, deluding them from the simple fact that they'll just rot in the ground.

I mean, if we can't conclusively find out if God exists now, how the hell did they all those years ago?

Quote from dawesdust_12 :One day you'll realize the error in your ways and switch to something decent.

Until then, you'll default to being retarded.

What, like OSX?

And use Logic 8?

I could save myself lots of money and just run Logic 5.5 on my Windows box. Afterall, 8 is just 5.5 with a new interface. So what's the point?

My Windows DAW does the job better then any other DAW on any other OS. For me to switch would be rather counter-productive.

Engage your brain before you post. You're coming off as a brainless peon here.

Once again you fail.

I'm a Windows man, merely because my audio DAW runs in it.

I've considered Macs, but then I remember Logic 8 sucks compared to 5.5 on Windows.

Apple destroyed what was the best DAW about.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :No, it's called using the right tool for the job.

If you're too ****ing stupid to use linux (and want to use it to just run Windows stuff), why not just use a buggy piece of cra.... I mean Windows?

Installing any driver in Linux isn't difficult by any stretch either. I've known how since I was 10 or 11 when I first tried messing around with Linux.

If you want to use something decent, use OSX

If you want to run a server or customize, Linux exists for that.

Use the right tool for the job and stop trying to use the wrong tool for the job. You wouldn't build an apartment building with Play-Doh would you?

I fail to see how wanting to run something non-native in your desktop environment is "f-ing stupid".

I love a blast on Streets of Rage 2 on the Sega MegaDrive. Since my MD died a death from being in the (cold and damp) loft, I play it on my PC. Does that make me stupid because I'm not playing it on original hardware? No.

Shaun didn't say that he's only interested in running Doze apps, in fact in the opening post he mentioned that Windows would (obviously) be better for that.

And I haven't seen any posts in this thread saying that the OP, or anyone, has had a problem with Linux, so you saying that "if you're too f-ing stupid to run Linux" is a total waste of time and just strengthening my opinion that you're a total bellend.

Bet you're the kind of bloke who just shit himself because Apple announced the new Macbooks will have Firewire again.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :You're dumb then. You shouldn't use linux if your only use is to install Windows stuff. installing drivers isn't even difficult in linux but you're too uneducated. please install windows and stop trying to put a square peg into a round hole.

I can tell you're an Apple user...

So he's not allowed to run a Windows app in Linux? Who said that he ONLY wanted to use LFS on it? Perhaps he wants to further his knowledge of OS's by trying to get his head around a new one? Please pull your head out of your own or Steve Jobs arse and at least try to understand the fact that people like to try new things with their computers, instead of having it do everything for them.

Shaun, update your Ubuntu. 7 is old I'm running 8.10 and LFS runs quite nicely.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?
- Epicurus

Pretty much sums it up. There is no God. No magic man in the sky who created everything in just under a week.

Religion on the other hand certainly exists, although the world would be a far better place if it didn't as in the grand scheme of things, it only causes war, death and segregation.

I'm sick of having religion shoved in my face by those who are religious. I personally think Roast Beef Monster Munch > God, but you don't see me running around insisting everyone convert to them from Wotsits.

Few more quotes which sums up my thoughts;

"With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion." -Steven Weinberg

"The world holds two classes of men - intelligent men without religion, and religious men without intelligence."
- Abu'l-Ala-Al-Ma'ar

"We must question the story logic of having an all-knowing all-powerful God, who creates faulty Humans, and then blames them for his own mistakes." -Gene Roddenberry

Quote from boosterfire :It's called generating your own problems. Yes, the gas guzzlers were selling well, but even in those years, it was known that the price of gas was bound to go up dramatically. They were just not proactive enough. If they had been, they would have been ready with small, efficient cars ready to be put on the market the moment the gas prices had gone up.

GM had access to plenty of smaller, more economical and efficient cars. Opel/Vauxhall for example sell plenty, even on the American continent.

It's their own fault they haven't flooded the US marketplace with Ecotec powered Euroboxes. They'd certainly sell.

Also, are Ford actually going to be selling the Fiesta in the US now? Last I read, they decided against it due to poor projected sales.

Quote from mrodgers :This past winter, we spent at least 6 weeks where we never saw the road surface. I had to take her Tribute to work through all of that because my car wouldn't have made it, or it would have added hours onto my drive to and from work. My car would have been crawling along at 10 mph or so. In the Tribute, I happily motored along as normal at 60 mph.

So you couldn't see the road because of adverse weather conditions, yet you still did 60mph?

You hero

And about the thing about being smooshed into the back of an Escort, yup, we've all been there. 12 years old, on the way to Cornwall for the annual holiday, squeezed in between my two fat sisters in the back of a Vauxhall Cavalier. Anyway, fair enough for big families to own a biggish family wagon, but you don't need a massive juicy engine for those either, cue snapshots of the Espace and all those other horrible things.

And STROBE, lol.

Quote :Eminem Storms Out of MTV Movie Awards
June 1, 2009 by Jeanne Dupuis
As expected, Sacha Baron Cohen, as Bruno, made quite an entrance. Initially, I just rolled my eyes as he, clad in a revealing white outfit and wings, “flew” above the audience on his way to the stage at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards. All of a sudden, it looked like Bruno’s wing hit something and he asked them to get him down. He started descending, head-first, into the crowd and then landed right on Eminem who looked absolutely furious. Members of Eminem’s crew scrambled to get Bruno off of him while Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen star, Tyrese Gibson, tried to help them (even though he couldn’t stop laughing). Eminem screamed, "Are you serious? Are you f**kin' serious?" as what appeared to be a joke quickly turned awkward when it seemed apparent that Eminem wasn't in on the gag. Eventually, Eminem was able to get from under Bruno and he stormed out of the theater.

I lol'd. Video here.

The FF stops are actually the Profiler, not LFS.

Would be nice if LFS had access to the Logitech driver so it could set the controllers lock-to-lock itself, but unfortunately it doesn't

Just get used to changing your lock-to-lock in the Profiler, takes 2 seconds...

Open Profiler, Alt+E, S, Shift+Tab twice, arrows to move the slider to your rotation then smash Return. Easy!

Engine noise randomisation

Had this on my mind for a while, but I'd like to see a slight randomisation of a few shift+a options for separate cars while online.

When a new race starts at the moment, say an all XFG grid, all the cars all start with their engines in sync somewhat which can cause some phasing in the sound, but a slight variation in exhaust tone and some other settings would make each engine sound a bit different, just like it'd be if you were actually stood on a grid of identical cars.

I know it's not a major thing, but it'd increase the realism IMO.

I'm really starting to get miffed about people pushing me off track as I'm trying to pass them.

"I SOLD YOU THE DUMMY AND PULLED ALONGSIDE, WHY RESORT TO PUSHING ME ONTO THE GRASS TO KEEP ME BEHIND YOU?!?!?!?!"

*breathes*

I've started to just not move over when people blatantly try to push me into the grass. They come off much worse. Easy way to spot a terrible racer.

(sorry, really needed to vent that one for a while)
