Quote from XCNuse :I know, I want to but I don't at the same time lol!

I've got quite a lot of slime, how much do you want?

Diamond is easier to find if you can find virgin land that nobody has mined yet. Dig down to the bedrock, then go up a few levels (4 or 5) and start mining channels, you'll find more diamond in those strata.

As for losing things to lava, I never go deep mining without two buckets of water, either to pour on lava blocking my progress or pour on myself if I get it really wrong. And if needed with two buckets of water you can make an infinite amount of water, which is why I carry two not one.

Quote from Silverracer :Aw shucks. Hopefully, you'd be able to look back and laugh at it in a few weeks time.

When it's just random clueless newbies wandering in and making a mess of stuff it's tiring but understandable. When it's some dickhead with TNT putting BIG holes in purpose-built buildings full of baddies that will take an hour to fix and maybe get me killed, then I want to remove their reproductive organs and mail them to their parents.

Quote from Silverracer :That's faith in the human race restored. :goodvibes

Briefly. Then I went upstairs. For every yin there is a yang:

This is the side of my mob spawner:

This is a hole blown through my yard, into my mob spawner:

And I've had damage to it before that looked accidental, but here's a good demonstration of how deliberate it was:

TNT against the side of a building full of mobs. Thanks very much. Dickhead.

Hahaha!

I just logged in and found someone had placed a chest and a sign in the middle of my house. The sign was a thank-you from an anonymous source thanking me for helping them in the past, and the chest was full of diamonds.

Well... That is a new experience. Thank you, mysterious stranger.

Quote from hp999 :Lock your doors then by doing /cpassword passwordhere and then punching the door by left-clicking. You'll have to do /cunlock passwordhere every time you want to open your doors, but it works.

Then they will come in through the walls / windows thinking you have something worth stealing.

I leave all my doors unprotected and just protect my chests instead.

You can't protect every block, so the kind of vandalism that happened to his mob trap cannot be protected against - the same thing has happened to me and others in the past, several times. The problem is that the white list isn't worth shit, basically. I am planning to just booby-trap my entire house since only newbies ever wander inside and only newbies do damage.

More random behaviour from some noob today (or late last night):

Three blocks of glass removed:

Workbench removed from this corner:

Random dirt block placed:

I haven't found any more yet but no doubt if I looked properly... Looks like someone new on the whitelist can't keep his hands to himself. Again.

I tried that mouse but it's too difficult to use it as a multi-touch pad. I can see why they thought it would be a good idea, but it isn't.

Quote from Uke :Ahem.. That EXACT same thing happened to someone else too. I think in that persons case it was the same reason, trying to modify the trap to work with pistons

My main problems were:
  1. I extended my mob trap all the way to the sky.
  2. I then blocked off all everything at the bottom floor and started work on the piston crushing mechanism.
  3. It turns out that if one floor gets full, mobs start to clip through diagonals into the floor below... And it's usually a creeper.
  4. I've used over 40 sticky pistons for a design that needs 20, because they keep getting exploded when my trap leaks creepers.
  5. Currently my trap has holes like swiss cheese and I need to go in from the top and clean out every level to be able to fix it without getting creepers squeezed through the floor at me. :/
It's been pretty funny though.

If you've already got MySQL installed on your server it would be easy to set up the DB and a user for the mod, I'm sure.

Quote from BlakjeKaas :5% is the most common here,

6% beer is pretty common here but nobody drinks anything stronger than that. Except the homeless.

Typical British beer is 3.5 - 4.5%. I think once you get to 6% or more it starts to taste pretty unpleasant unless you put strong flavours in like fruit, but that's not beer it's weird foreign fruit drink.

I found myself some virgin land to go diamond mining so I've been on a bit more. Also ended up with an arse load of coal so I'm busy smoothstoning everything I see.

Quote from danthebangerboy :Hang on, the legal limit in the UK is 0.08, and little over 1 pint of lager can put you near enough upto that limit, so my my (possibly flawed) logic suggests that you could have a BAC level of around 0.19 after only 2 maybe 3 drinks.

A tiny person like a girl might approach the legal limit on one pint of lager. An average-sized man would, under most circumstances, not be over the UK limit after a pint of strong (5%) lager.

.19 is more like 4 pints of strong lager for your average sized man. And Ryan Dunn was a fairly big dude, so he must've drunk booze with real commitment before he got in his car to get as pissed as that.

Yeah I heard about this thanks to iRacing still spamming me with email about their sim despite me 'unsubscribing' from their mailing list three times now.

****ers.

Quote from PMD9409 :I'll just say RIP for the guy who gave $25,000 to charity, which is more than all of us will combined in our lifetimes.

I didn't watch the clip, was it his own money or some TV network/sponsor's money?

And for the record I've given more money than that to charity through annual donations my company makes. That's my money - money that I would be entitled to draw as a dividend if I wanted to.

Given that there's only circumstantial evidence that he could have been drunk I think I'll refrain from judging the guy. At a gig last night I had a solitary can of Red Stripe and a couple of hours later I drove home. There were several photographers and I'd be surprised if someone hasn't snapped me standing on stage taking a drink from a beer can between songs, but I was well under the legal limit.

From the thread title I thought this was about a football friendly match.

Then I saw who posted it and assumed it was some thinly-veiled racist rant.

Then I read it, and gave myself a pat on the back.

It wasn't so long ago that the limit was 20. I think the 32 limit came through a string of gradual optimisations and I doubt Scawen would want to increase it if it had the potential to make the sim look bad.

Plus he would have to make the grids bigger on all the existing tracks, which could cause issues, and might mean some servers can only run a few high-capacity configs. And we all know how server admins hate to run the same config every day for their entire lives...

In multiplayer it can get laggy in certain situations. I ran my first minecart line last week and it was so laggy I thought there was something wrong. It's just that minecarts really bog it down and hog CPU.

Hey how much lava do you need and where is your house?

Just keep digging down, when you hit bedrock dig across, you will find lava or it will find you.

Don't go down there without a bucket of water (or two) in your inventory. It's sensible to always carry water when you mine but especially if you've looking specifically for lava.

Alternatively if you can find a portal (quite a few people have built them) you could go to the Nether there's plenty of lava there, it's a bit hard to collect with the ghasts throwing fireballs at you though. Also you can't place water in the Nether so the lava is much more dangerous there.
