I guess the only solution would be to have a secondary layer of security - a secret that isn't needed to use the account but is needed to change the password / personal details.

This wouldn't be necessary if people didn't hand out their passwords of course.

Complicated situation. To me, it's like riding a crispy bike - wormholes sometimes appear and I can hear the voices of children from 1km away. We must prepare to fight crooks if time travel is possible.

Why wouldn't you still be on XP?

OK so I use OS X for work these days but my home computer still has XP on it. If I built another computer tomorrow I would probably put XP on it. What's the point in Windows 7?

Quote from jamie9000 :I would offer you £100 inc delivery for this if your intrested.

That's the sort of price I was thinking of, but actually there's no point me buying a wheel I'd never have time to use it these days.

I suppose if you don't want to use the magic stuff you don't have to. I don't think I could be bothered with it myself.

Quote from Pearce :Of course , I havnt done any drifting with the wheel if that's what your saying.

Nah I was more worried about it having drool on it.

I might be interested if it gets a bit cheaper.

I don't know why people bother with speculation like this.

Hamilton is pro-trolling Massa, it's hilarious to watch.

Well done to Vettel, nobody came anywhere near him this year.

Practising offline won't really prepare you for racing against other humans though. The reason more experienced people crash less is because they get better at prediction and reading the other drivers.

Yeah it's frustrating sometimes when it seems every race you end up tangling with someone, but sometimes it just happens. Try not to let it wind you up, and if you get angry just go do something else for half an hour and try again later.

Quote from gandlers :No, Acorn was the electron,
the BBC was a BBC (model A or model B).

They were made by Acorn, only branded 'BBC'. Same company that later made the Archimedes and now designs and licenses RISC chips for other hardware manufacturers.

Quote from JJ72 :If one day you get rich I'll like to see how you use your money.

It's very unlikely that I would become rich because I have no desire to. The rich people I know are all driven to be rich people, probably above all else.

A company that I am one of three directors and shareholders of, has given a considerable proportion of its profits to charities over the last 10 years. That's money that would otherwise have been received as dividends by me and my two partners. I actually take home less than the national average wage.

Quote from Agniz :It was his money and he could do whatever he want with it.

Equally, it's his opinion and he can do whatever he wants with it.

If you saw someone lighting cigars with $100 bills would you just think 'It's his money, good for him!' or 'This man appears to be a total dickhead'.

To be fair Apple computers are really nice to use these days. Especially if you need *nix on the desktop for whatever reason, it's a much nicer experience than, say, Ubuntu.

We've fired up the office's old Mac Classic today for a bit of retro nonsense, I'd forgotten the 1993 version of Clarisworks could do outlined fonts. My current version of Pages can't do that.

The thing is dog slow though. 4Mb of RAM and 900k is chewed up by system 7.

Quote from iceman77776 :I think if LFS added night driving and instead of having cruising on tracks, add some open road and make the multiplayer limit like 50-100+. that would be the best game i could ever imagine and have always wanted.

... i guess then you would be changing the game slightly

Just a slight change yeah, from online racing simulator to massively-multiplayer get-stoned-and-drive-like-a-knob simulator.

I think I know what you mean. As graphics and special effects get more advanced the gameplay feels more and more detached from the visuals.

It's weird to have the feeling of being surrounded by these realistic environments but have your own avatar be entirely numb to it, so much so you spend quite a lot of time sprinting against walls or throwing yourself on the floor.

It's like how in dreams things often look right but don't feel right. You can be running away from some evil entity that feels like a very real threat, but for some reason the experience of running isn't presented properly and it feels like you're running through the sea.

Quote from spankmeyer :Also the cord pulling and experimenting is most of the fun with Reason. Load a rack full of strange stuff and make weird connections. Pull a plug and insert it to a random input or unit and you might stumble on a freaky cool sound. Super compressed drums to a reverb unit that sends both channels to a different delay units that are combined back to a gate controlling vocal track? Everything goes!

Especially wiring random shit into the step sequencer.

I'm a little bit out of date because I'm still running Reason 4, like Spanky I'm rewiring it into either Pro Tools or Reaper.

I think Reason makes more sense for musicians who have experience with hardware mixers / instruments / effects. Perhaps younger guys who've never seen a rack of actual hardware will be confused by the interface, but if you've ever operated a physical studio or even just a modular synth setup before, you'll find Reason's interface is very intuitive and simple to use, and you can get the results you want very quickly.

I've been meaning to get a copy of Record, I still haven't tried it, but most of my music is live these days, and if I am recording it's usually for somebody else in their studio not mine.

I won't be donating or having a go at you either but I will say if you're serious about quitting you should call the NHS Smokefree number and try to get on one of their courses. I'd never been able to quit successfully before but with the advice and most importantly the drugs, it was so much easier. That was March 2009, I haven't smoked since.

It's worth doing. Quite apart from the health benefits, life is so much easier and less stressful when you don't smoke.
