Sweet, thanks! In dire need of a lil sleep now, but will get on that when I get up.

EDIT - I dunno why I didn't think of this.. used to use the same trick back in the day for other stuff

n00b "mod" question..... is there any way to make this program run with LFS by default/so ya don't gotta run it separately every time? In the process of pulling some Rfactor buddies over to the light, and they're lazy/got kinda snooty when I told'm they had to run it every time they played.

I've got a batch of old friends whom I managed to get into LFS recently & this could greatly help keep them interested.. PLEASE update to .6B if possible!!!

Quote from PoVo :Were you using WiFi by any chance?

Yeah, though I always am and have a real solid connection/no issue hosting much more intense games etc. Still, I realize the most likely response will be wifi sucks for hosting, packet loss, put it on a wire etc. (which I will eventually, once I get my old "server" tower back in action)

Ahhhh, Ok, derrrr! :dunce: That means I need hella practice I guess! Was hoping maybe the 1:05 was from a previous/non 06B version & thus was unattainable now in the same car. :o

Hmm, shouldn't be any of the above but I appreciate the suggestions! (and will check for any software that shouldn't be auto-updating etc) What seemed odd to me was that nobody else saw even a blip in performance/it was me that disco'd.. oh well, didn't happen tonight..

Quote from Derv94 :...a low stiff car on skinny tyres + standing water and diesel patches isn't good news. hit a kerb and cracked my sump and subframe, bent a wishbone and snapped an engine mount

Sorry to hear it, though many times skinny tires are the ticket for some weather related driving situations, including standing water, (as they tend to cut through water much better than a wider tire, which will more often want to hydroplane sooner) "Low & stiff" makes one ponder on suspension setup though, as if wrong, will often cause a car to suddenly lose control in just such a situation, (as I eluded to in a previous, somewhat related conversation) That and speed of course. In any event, you made it, which is the important thing. Maybe a little morbid but, got any before and/or after pics?
World Record lap times.. (confused)

Hi all, I'm probably an idiot but am a little confused about the WR-Hotlaps/downloadable SPR's. For instance, the WR for the XRR on Blackwood GP shows a time of 1:05.860. When I download the SPR, prior to watching, the information window states: "LFS v06B - 1:24.64", though when watched is clearly the posted 1:05 time.. (something I can get nowhere near :o, though easily stomp 1:24) So what's a 1:24 all about? As always, thanks in advance!

Quote from lolzol :...Wheel, you might have overlooked the setting to allow game to alter settings.
(don't know if you have to turn this on for DXtweak)...

Great thought man.. unfortunately still no dice, whether that option's checked or not. :sorry: What I did just notice is that while DXTweak is in fact allowing me to save "profiles" & close without crashing, the next time I load it up my profile isn't actually being utilized. What I mean by this is, I see my deadzone represented in the graph/chart to the right, but the arrow representation on the left shows no deadzone. Also, no matter what profile I select, they're all identical to the last one saved :banghead: (after specifically saving three very different profiles/deadzones)

EDIT - Sooo, it's really just a minute amount of play in the wheel @ center that I'm needing to make "go away". Are there any somewhat related in-game settings I could maybe use to deaden centerline input, but without totally jacking up the rest of the input range? (or maybe in Logitech's profiler software)

Quote from Whiskey :...only way to do it is creating the server from the game itself, instead of using the dedicated. But probably this is not what you wanted to do.

Dang, that's too bad.. thanks again for the help again though man! (don't suppose you've got any clue on my other/DXTweak prob at this point?)
Way to leave AI on track after you leave?

I'm running a small dedicated server that for now, is restricted to use by me & a few good friends. At times we enjoy having a little traffic/AI out on track. I realize, (depending on host setup), each player can easily add AI but as soon as said player leaves, so do their chosen AI. Is there any way to place AI via the host, or possibly another method/mod to accomplish my goal? Thanks in advance for any input!
timing out to own dedicated host?

Probably another n00b hosting question, but given enough time I seem to always lose connection/timeout.. to my own dedicated host, (which is being run on a another system in my house). The first time it happened I thought the whole room must be getting ready to drop, though nobody else lost connection & I was able to connect back np. Are there settings I need to tweak somewhere or.. As always, thanks in advance!

Dedicated host password setup..

Hi all.. total n00b here, as far as dedicated hosting goes. Set up my first one tonight and thought I'd set a password as well. It wasn't long till all sorts of yahoo's started hopping in, going the wrong direction etc etc etc. That said, could somebody please walk me through setting a password? I know there's a simple step I must be overlooking & will feel all tawded once somebody comes along & points it out! :o As always, thanks in advance!
Is there a more "realistic" AI mod?

As the title states, are there any mods out there designed to affect how the AI race & interact with other cars/players? As is, sure you can turn their level up and down, but even set to the lowest setting all that seems to happen is they run perfect laps, slower. It'd be nice if on lower settings they'd fumble from time to time, not always stick to the driving line like glue etc. It's also pretty dang annoying how most times a faster car will simply plow into the back of anything in front of it, while only making a slight swerve, sometimes. (and/or totally muck up pit lane, lol) Another example is let's say you've got two AI on track & one's being held up by a slightly slower car. Once the faster car is close enough, many times it'll eventually choose a point in which to attempt a pass, and try the exact same maneuver every lap thereafter @ the same spot. (until eventually bashing past or wearing out its tires with the same attempt, falling waay off & until finally a much needed pit a lap or two after it should have)

For the record, I'm not bashing the game/developers etc & realize the game's more focused towards people playing against real opponents, but for us small time racers it's cool to be able to setup a few AI from time to time as well, and it'd be nice if they actually performed somewhat realistically. (as can be seen in a competing sim or two) As always, thanks in advance! (if this is a dumb question, my apologies.. I've been away from LFS for some time)

Quote from KiRmelius :...The old guy was riding a bicycle and crossing a road, didn't hear the approaching bike, and jumped in front of the motorbike... In rural area there's nothing to reflect the sound, so it's only possible to hear a bike from behind...

As for all this talk of bikes & pipes, no disrespect meant, but my home population's 1400 with no lights and tonnes of plant life. The closest "city" is also 45 miles away, (having a population of roughly 17,000), and I've got a love for the local 1.5 lane back roads. (so I've spent plenty of time far and away from concrete & buildings) I've also had friends who've owned various types of bikes. I can't think of any instance where they couldn't be heard before seen, from any direction and no matter the exhaust. You said the man on the bicycle was old, which I'd assume played more into the unfortunate situation than anything.

Maybe you're just deaf?

For awhile, my first car/first MX-3, had an exhaust that made it's lil 1.8 V6 scream just like a street bike with with pipes.. can I get in on this conversation? (jk) :bannana_g(you could hear that beyotch anywhere tho! )

As suspected, saturation settings don't take outside of DXTweak either. So does anybody have any ideas on why I can now save/recall DXTweak profiles, and my deadzone settings do work within the program itself, but don't affect the wheel within any games/outside of DXTweak itself?
