does anyone of you know if the dev's already work on some new features or some new content? i don't want to know what kind of features or content, i don't want to request something and i don't want another hype thread. Just a simple question: Do they already experiment with some real new features?
The reason why i ask that is because i thought about motivation, and i wouldn't be very motivated if i would "only" work on some small improvements all the day... atleast not if i would be one of the dev's. Because they have proven again and again that there biggest fascination is to set new standards for simracing. (i know there intention is "just" to develop the perfect racing simulation)
we just need a new color to choose for text: orange. Would be really nice, because the color looks cool and modern and most notably: i need the color for my nickname
Wow, thanks alot for these nice pics. The endurance wasn't really good for us, me wasn't fast enough and in lap 11, three of our four ignition coils burnt through. Yeah, our sponsor failed to mill our tool to laminate the bodywork. So we build one on our own, in the last two days.
But the car itself went very well, like i said, 5th in the autocross without ever driving the car before on a autocross track is not the poorliest finish we could think of
No i don't. I have version U9 installed. The association is also pointing to the right version... I tried it manual and then with CrazyICE's tool. Same result.
We are going to bruntingthorpe this year again of course. And thanks Arosa for explaining what i tried to say without enough technical english knowledge
We will meet there right? Maybe we should talk about a little meeting? Maybe at 6 o'clock p.m. in front of the main marquee (where you get the food and the results on sunday) on saturday for example...
tristan, maybe it's not only the main part of your turbo idea but also the increasing effort to applique such an engine. A known idea is a really small turbo for the low rev's, to get some more torque at 2000-5000 rpm....
Topspeed in FSAE: The rules say that the longest allowed straight is 75m. But if the you use the complete distance you have to build a relatively tight corner in front of and behind the straight. But nonetheless you can reach 120km/h with a nice FSAE car. But fast corners are very rare - so we say the same: The only downforce of these spoilers is there weight
DE-Tuning: Yes thats right, to build a nice FSAE car you have to de-tune the engine - we are even working on another camshaft - but exactly to get the opposite effect of normal tuning. We use a suzuki GSX-R 600 engine. In the motorcycle it had about 120hp, but because of the small intake diameter as i said, we do have about 85hp. But very important is, that we concentrated on a nice tourqe development. We do have over 50 Nm from 5000 to 11000 1/min - with a maxtourqe of about 60 Nm. Thats really broad for this kind of engine. But so, it's very easy to drive - you can drive nearly the whole track in second gear.
Ok. Wings are allowed in FSAE. Many teams use them, especially many aussie teams. Yes they have to be really big to have an effect. Even this effect has to be proven.
The mrt5 has such a small turbo because of the less air our engines are allowed to intake. The max air intake in FSAE is 20mm in diameter - so the turbo's don't get enough air... I'm not an egine specialist in our team, so thats all i know. Theoretical 95hp are possible using an air intake of these 20mm in diameter, we do have about 85hp - which is a very good result. And of course without turbo. It's so more driveable on autocross circuits then the mrt5
I think the best possbility would be to sinter the complete model. You could sinter the whole car in one piece, including interior. But it's really expensive to sinter parts.... Believe me, we do sinter many parts for our FSAE car.
Running stats.exe, lfs.exe(dedi) and lfs.exe(game on localhost. Tried a testrun with dei set to 1 lap at aston north. stats.exe connects successfull and even show my split times, but as soon as the race finishs and it trys to put out the race data html file it gets an error:
what about 5th July in Bruntingthorpe? The Formula Student Event takes place in Bruntingthorpe from 5th to 8th July. There is a go cart track too, would be really cool. Because many of you could see some MRT5 like cars and i could take part also
Why does the BF1 has got Cromo R2 tyres in the little rotation vid and original Michelin tyres in the CMX Viewer? Would be interesting. Also it has real ripped tyres (i don't know if ripped is the right translation) in the rendered vid, not in CMX viwer, there we got slicks with rip-textures...
Do these buttons and rotary switches on the BF1 Wheel have any function or are they only eye-candy stuff to let the cockpit look real?
I know, i could "easily" wait just 2 more days for the release, but i CAN'T!
