Probably the wrong choice of words.... Factually totally wrong but in my eyes they need to go a long way to meet the precident set by CM and the 22b, especially in the last 2 years.
The classsic - stil to most the best and ony Impreza...
The WRX only put out at max in standard trim - 220 bhp - the STI - approx 265 bhp. THe new age Blob eye and bug were about the same in both WRX and STI.
However -the newage Hawkeye - as a WRX out - approx 230 bhp in standard trim - with now heres the best bit - 271 n/m torque from a 2.5 ltr engine.
The classic reigns supreme by weighing it at approx 1000 kg - where as the new age, a whopping 1860 kg..... and thats where the difference lies.
The Hawkeye STI puts out about 280 bhp....
Your probably refferring to the 22b with that power figure, which is the best Impreza yet, but there aint many and they cost a pretty packet...
Not bad - pull away is pretty close - THe front of the car lifts big time - which is pretty comparable, gear changing points are about right - on redline - 2nd to 3rd at about 60 - 3rd to 4th in the 85 region, into 5th about 105 - and through 5th to 136 ish - prety close.
Brakings a bit suss tho - This set will only brake in a straight line - with the back end wanting to come around alot. I suppose if I pulled my ABS fuse then it would react pretty much the same.
Cornering, pretty close again - the front of the car wallows a bit and does want to go straight on, but normally - (around the bigger round abouts) a little throttle and the rear end steps out and driffts out. This set tends to see a bit side ways slide in to the wall.
Not bad at all.
Which MY variant is your friends WRx that this was based on - that could amount to the difference in handling from my point of view - classic/bugeye/blobeye/hawkeye?
There was a vague hint that at some point in the development of LFS, that there would be the addition of a rally pack for LFS. Somewhere between S1 and S3. No commitment was given at all, so in no way promised.
To continue the thread on topic - when closing down LFS have a look at the credits screen back group - Does that not slighly hint at SUbaru?
Well.... tried to go in to test on tonights server - Ive discovered that any one can move you out of the grid list - which is blooming appauling. 4th or 5th in the server - waiting for the rest to join and some monkey comes in and takes me out of the list and I go to spectate even after I had pressed ready..... Damn appauling behaviour. Only server admins should be able to remove some one from the grid.
Could not work out very easily how many racers were in the server when in the the lobby - had to count the screen, and with people joining and leaving all the time - Needs a counter to tell the lobby how many people are in.
These are probably more observations and suggestions and not warranted here.... but there ya go....
Well - there is the theory that you can still "count off" the lights. For example - if you gauge the timing between the red lights coming on - and continue the count - you can almost exactly predict the green.
The randomness of the timing on the greens is not great enough.
This theory is trying to be proved now on the server.
I joined the server on lap 2. Was running 20 lengths infront of the lead pack - Just dropping in and out of the blue flag region for 2 laps - but entering the final straight - I took to the pits for a compulsary pitstop. (also to clear out of way of leaders). Leader then chose to pit behind me.
I had blue flags going into the pits. On leaving I still left infront of the leader - only about 10 car lengths - but didnt get blue flags till after the chicane and heading up the hill to the hairpin (AH National Rev).
Should have had blue flags on leaving pits immediatly.
Didnt get a replay as I disconned just after the race finished (totally unexpectedly)
One of the chaps has saved the replay - hopefully it shows.
AS previous patches were released - pre S1 - there was lots more content in the full S1 release than was even known about in the final S1.
The content of the test patches (I hope) will be less than the final S2...
AI is being worked on after patch X - we have the revitalised SO to look forward too - New car interiors for certain cars - and I'm hoping so much more.
If we all download and use the test patches and feed back constructivly, then S2 final will be closer each day.
Great work Devs - look forward to the finished results
When in single player (I was testing the AI) - I paused pressing P. - then went into the options to change my FOV.
The options menu showed - Resume - ESC
Escape just dropped the menu - but didnt resume the game - I still had to press P to unpause.
When I read "resume" I expected the game to unpause and restart.
Is that the intended outcome for Resume?
PS - AI working great - First race out - no crashes (very rare) - next race out nearly every one crashed - with no major issues - I Like the new AI Stopping for repairs text. The AI do seem to carry on with some damage now or at least try to. Good prgoress.
Dont know if this is a bug - but Ive attached the replay -
10 lap race - Dead man Racing server on W26 - Last night approx 10 pm?
Im running almost a full lap behind the leader - they all cross the line - then I do in something like 14th Place - The results clear and Im given as the winner of the race? The End Questioned it, so did I.
Never seen this happen before - Has the server admin just reset the race to restart - then canx the restart?
Very strange - thought Id just post it - sorry for wastin time.
|Cant post replay as file size to large even after compression. If anyone wants to investigate - Pm me and Ill mail them the mpr.
Well - its not that good actually for driving with.... at the full 160 FOV.... The view is a bit fished eyed
I run the FOV between 130 and 140
1st pic is 120 FOV - which is how it is unpatched.
2nd pic is 160 FOV
It seems that everything is to far away and to small - its diffilcult to drive - as it seems totally unnatural.
Its great to see the cars left and right - but the mirrors are just to far away.
However - 160 fov from trail cam is great - for spectating - but in this pc you can see the distortion I refer to as Fish eyed.
Last pic is my prefered driving position - at 140 Fov - but depends on the car - about 127 in the FXR. The only downside is that the roll cage covers half the passenger rear view wing mirror.
And to finish a view of Ky oval from helicopter view - notice 120 degrees only availible in shift U.
I think its a great option for the User - to have ability to have high res option on skins.
Personally I dont think its required for me - there is no marked difference in quality when racing - the skin itself is an indicator of the car, and who Im racing against.
At this moment I dont feel I need to be seeing high res skins.
The Sim is looking fantastic, I understand the need to reduce overheads and increase the options for the users. I am glads its an option and not enforced.
Thats my idea of a cool 3 wheeler - for 2 playes to race on, The physics wouldnt be that hard to simulate either. The driver is as now, but the passenger, to maintain authenticity, shifts his weight according to the corner or the straight - keeping low to reduce drag.
I think they could work in LFS.
How would they work in single player though... hmmmm
ALMS - The North American 12 hour Endurance series - They dont right the car - but the marshalls will push a car out of the gravel - or if stuck in a verge - and allow the cars to return to pits or continue racing, without penalty.
